512.05.2025Erdrick5.0Robocop was top billed on this show, but he ultimately walked down a hallway, pried apart the bars of a cage, walked away up the entrance ramp, and that was it. Quite a letdown when you consider that he once drove through and splattered to death a guy who'd been doused with toxic waste. (Assuming of course that this was supposed to be the literal Robocop from the movie, not Peter Weller. Of course, Robocop is not a real person and Peter Weller also doesn't have super-strength, so this didn't make sense either way. What's next, wrestlers interacting with The Muppets as if they were real people? ) The plastic of Robocop's left leg started falling off as he was leaving with Sting and he had to hold it in place while he walked, which was funny. The opening match seemed ill-placed, as Norman the Lunatic and Kevin Sullivan weren't going to get the crowd excited with their slug-paced offense, but the other participants made it surprisingly decent. Mean Mark vs Johnny Ace, and the SST vs Mike Rotunda and Tommy Rich featured participants that had greater success elsewhere, but both matches were underwhelming at this point in their careers. Manager matches are bad, Ellering vs Long not serving as an exception. Things picked up for the next three tag matches, with Pillman and Zenk vs Midnight Express, and Steiners vs Doom being the best matches on the card, while R&R vs Freebirds would've been better without the strap as a distraction. Flair doing his best to bump around vigorously for Luger made the action passably watchable, but having a cage match end in a disqualification is ridiculous. With just a few tweaks this could've been a much better show. Shame that it's just kind of mediocre overall, despite the two good tag bouts.
604.11.2024benh25.0Some really good tag matches on the undercard but this event was really ruined by the whole Robocop bullshit and even worse by the main event super bullshit. Ole was just in as booker at this point and if you'd told me he was sent as a double agent by Vince I'd believe you. They made their entire main event scene a laughing stock in the space of about five minutes at the end here.
725.08.2024faskalasuchus7.07.0 out of 10 3 good to great matches those being flair vs lex until the finish midnight vs brian z man and doom vs steiners everything else isn't good enough grade it to a higher rating this ppv is known for having robocop of all people come out to save sting for 90 seconds which is this shows marketing btw still fun enough show don't like the amount of tag matches there's like 5 here
822.08.2024JacquesRougeauCanHaveMyWife6.0Another quality show, this time with a lot of Tag Team Matches, but at least most of them were very solid. The Midnight Express vs Brian & Z-Man was definitely the match of the night for me as Bobby and Stan got the best out of Pillman and Zenk, which The Freebirds weren't capable of doing at WrestleWar. Speaking of which this time Hayes and Garvin weren't lacking and had a pretty good match with The Rock 'n' Roll, even though the finish was a little dodgy with the illegal man winning the match. Also the opener was a fast-paced, fun little 6-Man Tag and The Steiners gave Doom their best match yet, plus the main event was very solid workwise, but the finish with the heels just lifting the cage was a horrible idea and it ruined the whole stipulation, just a big nonsense. Everything else though wasn't awful, but also nothing too interesting, maybe apart from the fact that Taker wrestled Laurinaitis here.

1111.05.2024Nevermore426.0This show started rough, but actually ended up being pretty good overall. The match between Norman the Lunatic and the Road Warriors and Bam Bam Bigelow, Cactus Jack, and Kevin Sullivan ended up being significantly better than I expected it was going to be. Unfortunately, that's probably the last time I'll say that tonight. Mean Mark fought Johnny Ace for way too long in a dull match, at least until the Samoan Swat Team and Mike Rotunda and Tommy Rich came out next and took both the "too long" and "really boring" titles away from them. The Hair vs. Hair Match between Paul Ellering and Theodore R. Long was short and inoffensive. The Midnight Express defeated Flyin' Brian and the Z-Man for the United States Tag Team Titles in the match of the Night. The Rock 'n' Roll Express then took on the Fabulous Freebirds in a dumb Corporal Punishment Match where the gimmick was barely used. Doom won the World Tag Team Titles off of the Steiner Brothers in a good match. Finally, Ric Flair retained his World Heavyweight Title against Lex Luger in a Steel Cage thanks to a Barry Windham induced DQ in a match that was way better than that sounds.

1324.03.2024KingsCrossing5.0While I liked the two tag title matches and enjoyed most of the main event, there was a lot of poor booking here. The conclusion to the show is the biggest offender and leaves a pretty sour taste in your mouth (you'd need to have a hell of an undercard for me to give a more positive rating to a show where the main event cage match ends in disqualification). If the Robocop stuff happened today I'd be extremely critical of it, but on a show this old all you can really do is laugh at how silly it is. I disliked the Corporal Punishment match, and was extremely bored by the SST vs Rich/Rotunda match, and with both closing in on 20 minutes this was a pretty sizable portion of the PPV that left me feeling cold. It didn't help that even though I liked the main event, there have been significantly better matches between Luger and Flair on previous shows. And that I recommend checking out the two tag title matches, but if you don't bother with the rest you're really not missing much (unless you're a big Robocop fan, I suppose).

1813.08.2023Rjepic16.0This is an interesting show. The show is decent overall and has some really good moments, while also having some very bad ones. This show is most known for the "Return of Robocop" as Robocop took part in this event as advertisement for the second movie. This also has both tag titles changing hands as Doom win the World Tag titles and Midnight Express the US (I believe their last reign in the company? ) An awful Managers Hair vs Hair match also took place on this show; which I'm shouting out since it was too short to review.
1903.08.2023CMFunk0076.0I don't know which was worse...Robocop or Chucky. But this event was fun despite the Robocop busting Sting out of a cage thing. I wonder how silly The Andersons and Sid felt acting afraid of a fictional character. The main event was good, The US Tag Title match was excellent, and the World tag team title match was also excellent, but everything else was skippable.

2201.04.2022Giantfan19804.0What a horrible storyline in Robocop. This was all Jim Herd's genius here. All it amount to was the Horsemen putting Sting in a gimmicked cage so Robocop could slowly walk out and pull the door off as the Horsemen ran away........aaaaaaand that was it. Yeah. The US tag title match was good and the main event cage match was good despite the overbooking nonsense. Everything else was whatever.

2616.10.2021TigerDiver7.0RoboCop asides, this was a very good show packed with mostly quality wrestling up and down the card. The last four matches were all recommendation in my book, featuring a trio of good/great tag bouts, and another very good Flair/Luger main event. Just watch out for the Samoans stinker and the ridiculous overbooking at the end of the event.

2818.06.2021Tomas Cunha7.0Even though not at the level of the pay-per-views the NWA was delivering in 1989, this was still a pretty good show. The opener was solid, the next three matches were a bit boring (the Samoans? match was just plain awful) and it looked like the show was going downhill, it picked right back up afterwards. There? s plenty of stuff on this event that are worth your time, particularly Flair Luger ? be warned for the finish ? and above all Doom Steiners. Good show overall.
2920.05.2021cal90995.0Few pretty good matches among some absolute trash. Nothing really got near to 4* for me unlike for some others so was a pretty middle of the road show imo
3027.08.2020DanTalksRasslin7.0An event mostly remembered for the RoboCop appearance, which is actually too bad as there was some very good wrestling to be found especially in the second half of the show, including good main event benefitting from a well-executed pre-match injury angle to Luger and certainly from a hot crowd. We also get some great tag team stuff, including Doom vs. Steiners (my favorite match of the show, Midnights vs. Pillman/Zenk (probably the best pure match of the night) and a pretty fun Rock n Rolls vs. Freebirds brawl. The only real miss was Ellering vs. Long (the hair vs. hair stip could easily have been tacked on to a match with the two manager's teams against each other), though Ellering - in his last televised match - was still in good shape and looked like he could've gone with an actual opponent. The first three matches weren't remarkable (other than a pre-'Taker Mean Mark using the ropewalk into an elbowdrop), but not terrible. And, of course, there was the RoboCop stuff, which was dumb, but it was quick, relatively harmless and at least memorably goofy enough to still be talked about. Not a bad show at all.

3206.10.2018Cameron6211293.0There were some enjoyable matches, but a lot of miss booking, bad matches, God awful moments and other BS; and that's not including the RoboCop segment.
3303.05.2018leblake4.0Solid second half of the show in terms of the matches, but the first half of the matches were nothing special and the Ellering/Teddy match was a really bad segment. Speaking of really bad segments... Robocop. Enough said.

4013.05.2016jackleone7.0It's not the terrible event that many talks about. The Robocop skit is one of the worst of all time, but it's not slow and has a little impact on the event, only for more Sting vs Flair feud. The opening match is fine, for once I liked Norman and Cactus Jack was crazy. The Samoan tag team match was bad, almost unwatchable. The others two tag team matches delivers some entertainment and good Wrestling (sometimes with poor decisions). The main event is okay, with Flair is difficult to have something disappointing. It's clear it was an intermediate point for a Flair vs Sting rematch.
4106.05.2016test856.01. (o. W. ) 5. US Tag Team Title Match war das MotN. (3 3/4*) 6. (3 1/2*) 7. Steiners gegen Doom gefiel mir dagegen weniger. (2 1/2*) 8. ME war in Ordnung.

4311.11.2015Mizzle Assault Ant8.0Ok, up front, the "Robocop" thing is silly, but it's no worse than some of the dumb stuff WWF was doing at the same time. This is actually a pretty good event, both tag team title matches really delivered, not to mention a crazy young Mick Foley who bumps on an insane level to be the highlight of a fun six man tag. I do have to say though, the Rotunda & Rich/Samoans match was not good at all, but overall I had a ball watching this card.
