[8.0] "The "New Beginning"2014 was the first time when NJPW decided to have two split shows. This was for sure a business success, but instead of one show of the year, we got a good show in Hiroshima and a great show in Osaka. I really enjoyed this show, altough the undercard stunk here and there. Once again, I wanted to end my life when I saw Gracies "wrestle". Anyway, what made this show was definitely the last 4 matches. Tanahashi/Nakamura tag match was really good (*** 1/2), Ibushi vs Desperado was great (*** 3/4). Then we had Ishii vs Naito, which was MOTY level of shit. What an incredible match. Ishii finally winning the title was a markout moment. I gave this **** 3/4. The main event was Okada vs Goto, which was an amazing title match (**** 1/4). Great show, but the undercard is skippable."

[9.0] "This show unfortunately has an undeniable dip with five different tag matches all in a row, those are of varying quality as it is difficult to get fully into the NWA title matches with NJPW's already stacked title card, and the Gracies were not really interesting enough to justify their place on so many PPVs. Towards the end the show gets a lot better with a nice Junior-Heavyweight Title match, followed by Ishii and Naito absolutely tearing the house down in a perfect bout. The main event was also absolutely excellent but the Openweight Title stole the show on this occasion."
