[6.0] "I kinda feel for Taniguchi because he simply kept having awful timing in his career. NOAH in 2005 was too big for a guy like him to really do anything and his shooty-gimmick he had was completely overshadowed by Sugiura being on the roster. He would still get his flowers with some really solid matches working as a hoss instead before being fucked over by a terrible masked heel gimmick that basically removed his endearing traits in place of a horseshit shtick-heavy bad guy you'd see down working house shows in Memphis. When he came back from that he was good again but the roster was too stacked for him to really stand out so he drifted back to being a lower-card comedy guy. Thankfully we're once again on the other side where he's working more straight forward matches and occasionally impressing despite his age. It's just a shame that he never quite got the chance to shine in his youth because he was quite damn good doing the big-guy amateur wrestling stuff and could've been built as at least a title contender threat at a mid-card or higher level. Sadly Tani just never quite got the personality to really stand out from the pack and as he got older that really never changed despite the wacky gimmicks. He's a guy who's definitely good but could have been much more if conditions were different and things had been in place for him to at least try to step up."

[7.0] "He has a very old school look and style. I'm fairly partial to him and I think he works well as a mid-card powerhouse, though I think his strikes don't look very good. If he improved on his strikes or just focused on chain-wrestling/submissions more (Which he does well in) I can see him shooting up the card."

[8.0] "Really late bloomer unfortunately, but he's currently having an excellent run in NOAH as a very solid mid card powerhouse. Has great matches at every opportunity he's given and he's been doing so since he dropped that asinine Maybach gimmick."

[4.0] "A painfully average worker that brings absolutely nothing new to the table. He's not bad, but he's not good. He can have matches, and that's about it."
