[2.0] "Too damn tall for a referee, lol. What can I say, I always found him distracting, and I never liked the way he counted pinfalls as it looked like he was counting to 4 instead of 3. And yeah, there's something to be said about him being a nepo baby who failed as a wrestler and simply settled for being a referee, instead of someone who was passionate about refereeing in the first place like Randy Anderson."

[10.0] "Nick Patrick is my favorite referee at all times. His referee bumps were the absolute best in the business. I particularly loved his run as the heel nWo Referee in 1996 and 1997, he is honestly the most entertaining character on the show if you rewatch and and look at the nuances of his performances and promos. It's television gold. He must have been popping the guys in the back constantly. The fact he had that neck brace on for MONTHS because of ONE PUNCH from Randy Savage is absolutely amazing. He even wrestled Jericho at WW3 1996 whilst still in the neck brace! His work on the nWo Saturday Night skits were also hilarious, he's refereeing a contest and then out of no where he just socks the nWo's opponent with a right hand. So funny. Despite all those shenanigans, when he was just a regular referee he was one of the best. Transitioned to the WWF just fine, ended up one of their senior officials, and his match against Earl Hebner at INVASION was a highlight. I can't say enough good things about Nick Patrick. Caught between a rock and a hard place at Starrcade 1997, don't blame him, we know who to blame! Nick continues his hard work today with Deep South Wrestling and trying to help train the future of the industry."

[3.0] "Started as Assassin #3 but quickly shifted to enhancement talent, however a severe injury ended his grappling career very early. Notorious crooked referee; first in WCW for the nWo, then in WWF for... WCW. His overall work is frustrating, he was also too tall for the job. Awful bumps, egad! Some of the worst ref bumps ever, and there are MANY. Also the whole Starrcade '97 fiasco. Boooo. Hard to like honestly."

[4.0] "I've never seen him wrestle but I don't think that really matters here: Patrick is best known for reffing. I have a love/hate relationship with his "evil nWo" incarnation, as he's semi-frequently the reason one of his reffed matches will drag into the doldrums. But he's also -extremely- funny and good at what he does. When he's just being a normal ref he's fine."

[3.0] "Nepo Baby and ex-wrestler turned ref, Nick Patrick size wise was too big to be a ref it was a visual television business and attraction in the '90s anytime he reffed a match with guys under 6' it kills their credibility. Since he can't control that I tried not to hold it against him with my rating however, when you're the ref even though Bischoff and Hogan got in his ear beforehand, responsible for messing up the finish of one of the biggest main events in American wrestling history that's going to drop you down a lot points wise. On top of how he let Sherri get beaten down after getting dropped on her head by Madusa from a german suplex."

[5.0] "I'm kinda torn on Nick Patrick. He's great as a corrupt ref but his CONSTANT shenanigans ruined some good matches at the same time."

[5.0] "Having a blatantly biased ref just doesn't work for a number of reasons. In theory it sounds intriguing, but when you actually break it down, why does the ref only cheat halfway? What's keeping him from just letting his guy get away with everything? Or just DQing the other guy right away for no good reason? Many different feds across history has tried the crooked ref thing & I don't think it has ever worked. Once Nick immersed further within the NWO, his role got worse & worse & his status as a legit ref was a hard thing to even save."
