[8.0] "From Memphis to World Class to Portland, where there wasn't a huge amount of wrestlers who could hold your attention today, there has never been a match with Len Denton that wasn't a professional wrestling match. The audience is engaged, he is always in shape, he can bump and fly when it's time, and he can lay it in and get heat when it's time. He takes chances with better workers and can simplify for the green ones and carry anyone to something you wouldn't be embarrassed to have on your tv. Is he the definition of a carpenter? Maybe. But while there will always be a handsome all-american babyface on top of the world, people are looking for them. There might not be another grappler, but nobody is looking for them, and that's a shame."

[7.0] "Not the best wrestler in history, in terms if technique or move-set but I think the "hate" sometimes can blind people. Len Denton was a fine worker, that put many wrestlers over and has a great legitimate contribution in the Portland territory. For me was a almost a perfect mid-carder for the 80's standard. Underrated and unappreciated."

[9.0] "As I watch more of his work, I have a better understanding of why he was heralded by his peers and valued by companies across the US. His work was solid, fluid, giving, understanding etc - but this didn't always translate to must see television and/or big time money angles, so it's easy to underestimate his contributions. His in ring ethic and his ability to work with anyone helped elevate the sport/business as a whole. This was one of those guys that could do anything with anyone and it all looked credible the entire time. Also, as The Grappler I love the name, look, mask, gimmick: everything! Great 80's wrestler."

[6.0] "the grappler gimmick was a fine mid card asset for promotions like world class and Portland when I was watching wrestling in the mid 1980's. the loaded boot gimmick was brought to prominence by len denton. he knew he was a bad guy... didnt try to be a cool bad guy... some of his antics to get heat were a bit cheap, but he wore the black hat well and he had enough credibility with the crowd that a victory over him would elevate his opponent up the ladder. grappler was never going to be a main event himself but for his spot on the roster and on the card he worked a quality match"
