BJ Whitmer

[8.0] "Dude was a huge deal on the indy in the mid 2000s. Taking part in some of the most memorable matches in IWAMS, HWA, NOAH, ROH, and CZW. He could have been more but it never happened. It's sad that's he's only gonna be remembered now as an abuser and a robber."

[0.0] "Domestic abuser, i dont like to get politics in here but anyone who abuses anyone in any way automatically gets a 0 from me."

[6.0] "A staple of ROH in the early to mid 2000s, but hasn't really done much aside from also working with NOAH. Solid worker."

[8.0] "I've always had a soft spot for BJ Whitmer. To me he always stood out for his realism in an increasingly phony profession. In the early days of ROH he was always tearing shit up, his feud with Jimmy Jacobs was one of my favorite in all of wrestling. Really cut his teeth in the late 90s, early 2000s in promotions like IWA-MS and HWA before landing a touring spot with NOAH that lasted several years. He took a few years off and came back in incredible shape and has participated in several good angles since then, leading up to his departure, injury on the indies, and apparent retirement. Not the most charismatic person obviously, but I've always enjoyed him nonetheless."

[6.0] "BJ Whitmer was a solid hand, and he would have probably had a better run if not for the fact that he totally lacked personality and charisma."

[6.0] "Whitmer is a solid independent wrestler with a good all-around in-ring skill set. Historically, his lack of personality had been his weak point, but after becoming the de facto leader of the Decade after Roderick Strong left the group and Jimmy Jacobs left the company, he found his voice and showed a great ability to generate heat on the mic. Ultimately, he made a reliable figure to help fill out the midcard and tag team ranks."

[5.0] "Whitmer is a great bumper but I have absolutely no care for his work. Hes a good ol' talented indie worker who is willing to take on any spot and knows how to move in that ring but Ive never been engaged by his work (well, once when he had a 'broken neck' and got double foot stomped by Super Dragon, that was pretty tense). Hes just a dispensable worker ant whose spot on the card could've been given to anyone. His feud with Jacobs is good fun, but then again Jacobs was quite over as a bad guy in the mid 00's."

[7.0] "BJ Whitmer is a pretty tough guy to rate. Back in like 2002-2007 I was a huge mark for BJ Whitmer and I'd give him an 8 for his inring work. But I won't deny the fact that I never could stand the 2008-current BJ Whitmer, his style totally changed. Thats why I'm gonna give him only 7 points."

[6.0] "BJ is excellent playing the character he has in Ring of Honor. He just has not been he same wrestler though after his neck injury, which is understandable to be honest."

[5.0] "Whitmer is a great in-ring performer: He works hard, he bumps brilliantly, he delivers solid offense, and he knows where he is in the ring. On the flip side, Whitmer is not a good talker, nor is he charismatic or intense enough to really get people to care about his character. Put him in a match and he will do just fine, no doubt, but it's hard to give him a higher rating since he's never once made me care whether he wins or loses."
