[9.0] "There it was a little bit of filler but the storylines progression was great as well as the quality of the matches: Andrade vs. Matthews was a great ladder match with a couple of great spots and a beautiful ending. Punk and Starks promo was a bit weird at times but overall good and the "X" on the title was an omg moment. Allin vs. Suzuki was short but very enjoyable, love to see Suzuki on Tv. Martinez vs. Hogan was alright and finally we are getting some stories revolving the women's division. Ftr vs. Cole/Mjf was a great main event and the post-match was amazing, very hyped for the future of these two. Overalll: it was a great show, the strongest episode of Collision so far, with quality matches and stories."
[7.0] "The opener was the match of the night for me. Darby coming in like wildfire was also great but by the main event the show lost me and I got bored. I used to really like FTR but their Collision run is not for me for some reason."
[10.0] "An perfect night of aew collision perfect card, perfect show the crowd was heavily and i mean heavily involved and interested in everything going on in the ring, the match-ups were sensational FTR Vs Adam Cole & Mjf absolute killed it and buddy matthews match was sensational a perfect collision."
[5.0] "Collision continues to be mostly forgettable, but I at least appreciate how different it is compared to Dynamite. Andrade vs Buddy was pretty good and the clear MOTN. Nothing revolutionary, but still with some exciting ladder spots, strong bumping/selling, and some great strikes. At times they could've sold longer for their bigger bumps, though. Everything with the handcuffs and Julia was annoyingly cheesy, but it was cathartic seeing Andrade still win. ***1/4 - ***1/2. Miro getting attacked backstage by a rando was pretty worthless. Darby vs Suzuki was alright. Darby's daredevil attacks were exciting, and he sold, bumped, and fired up really well. Suzuki was mostly decent but did have a few overly weak strikes, and his limited physicality unfortunately made for some awkward bumps. Darby carried him well, though. **3/4. Christian's post-match promo attacking Darby was well-delivered. Joe vs Gravity was a fine squash. Gravity is AEW's worst lucha guy thus far, with his ridiculous gimmick and uninteresting/unconvincing movements and flips. Joe embarrassing him and beating him down was satisfying. Too short; no rating. Punk's promo was typically very well-delivered, and the way he built up the reveal of the "Real" World Title was very good. Starks' responding promo was likewise very good, with a few great lines. The 6-man tag was fine. The heels had some fun beatdown work and arrogant showboating, but the babyfaces, aside from a handful of cool high-flying spots, were far too bland as characters, and they were also overly choreographed at times. **1/2. Martinez vs Kiera was overly long with awkward chemistry and nothing remotely memorable. Martinez's offence was pretty lumbering but at least decently physical at points. Kiera had a few moments of okay agility but otherwise offered nothing interesting. **1/4. The post-match angle with Statlander and Willow wasn't very interesting. FTR vs Cole & MJF was yet another in the line of perfectly alright FTR matches. Yes, I'm saying this was about even to the 2 "famous" FTR-vs-Jay-and-Juice matches. It's just that FTR's "traditional" style is usually so basic and unadventurous that I fail to get into their matches unless their opponents counter by being far more creative and flashy, which once again wasn't the case here. At least they were all energetic, and basically every exchange/spot was well-executed. MJF's entertaining taunts and hyping-up of the crowd were the best moments, and even his selling/bumping wasn't as goofy as it can often be. Cole was the obvious sore thumb here, with his kick spam (especially his superkicks) being very boring, and he offered literally nothing else other than with his and MJF's loveably goofy tag efforts. The various run-on trades and counters in the final 1/3rd were mostly fun, at least whenever Cole wasn't involved. ***. The post-match tease of MJF and Cole breaking up was cheesy, but it worked with how lovably goofy their friendship is know to be, so I didn't mind it."
[8.0] "An episode of Collision with good wrestling and the occasional interesting segment and promo, like CM Punk's, which I don't know what AEW will do if they will create a brand split (hopefully) and start doing two different rosters, would be pretty good for this promoter."
[9.0] "This was the best TV show that I've seen in some time. There were two great matches in Andrade/Buddy and the tag title match in the main event. Darby/Suzuki was a nice surprise and they had a strong match for TV. Joe's squash match was good for squash, and the 6-man tag + Mercedes/Kiera were both decent. Punk's promo segment with Ricky was strong, and Punk calling himself the real-world champion is great. MJF and Cole lost as they should have, but keeping them together was the right thing especially when they're getting reactions like that."
[10.0] "The perfect free TV card. Andrade vs. Buddy was fantastic, PPV quality match. Several killer spots with a phenomenal ending. Props to Julia for taking the bump off the ladder and props to Buddy for catching her perfectly. My personal highlight was the sunset flip into the ladder bridge, sick sick stuff. Suzuki showing up was a legitimate shock, even more shocking was him and Darby putting on an awesome fast pace match. Darby bumped like a boss and Suzuki looked better than he has in most of his AEW dates. Another great ending too. Joe/Gravity, the six-man, and Mercedes/Hogan were all fine and mostly forgettable, but each had their moments. Joe mocking Gravity was hilarious, Vikingo's boosted dive to the outside was awesome (+ some good Juice Robinson shenanigans), and Mercedes vs. Hogan did more set up for the women's division then most matches have recently, with both women looking really solid. FTR vs. Better than You Bay Bay was great. Really loving the storyline with Cole and MJF, they made the right decision keeping them together here. FTR are just excellent tag team wrestlers and once again showed the absolute fundamentals of how to do it. Simple, effective storytelling throughout and I personally loved the finish. Of course all that leaves out Punk and Starks delivering a great back and forth promo that had the crowd torn throughout. Both guys are absolute stars and are going to tear the place down next week. One of my favorite promo segs of the year."
[8.0] "Why have Punk pull out "his" belt on a night where MJF is there and everyone knows it. Makes zero sense that a dude so obsessed with being champ, and with Cole now as backup, would not come out and at least tell Punk that Punk is delusional. Even if he just dismissively told Punk - Hey, go ahead, keep pretending and we will settle this later. My other gripe is the ten dudes getting a ton of air time, while Hobbs still works dark matches. You can't trim five minutes off the regularly 20-30 minute main events and ten minutes off the weekly Punk promo and fit in an actual storyline for Hobbs? Or Ethan Page or another ladies segment? Collision is a full 2 hours just like Dynamite and needs to start doing its share of lifting for this bloated roster, not just the ten selective dudes lucky enough to get leisurely, regular air time. Episode itself was fire, with my favorite match being the BCG trios, for the zany characters. The post main event angle was also soooo good, I loved it even though I wanted BTYBB to win."
[8.0] "I think this was a very good show of collision I really enjoyed the opening ladder match and the main event was really good even though the finish was pretty sloppy I also enjoy the match between darby and minoura I also enjoyed the cm punk segment but some of the other part of the show was boring and lackluster."
[8.0] "A great episode from Collision, maybe the best one so far. All the matches were (at least) good, the crowd was great (most of the times), we had some surprises, like Suzuki having a match, Punk promo was awesome and set some nice possibilities for the future, and the Main Event was really good, with a perfect angle to close to show."
[8.0] "I though this was a good show, very worthwhile to watch due to the opener and main event being really good and some interesting storyline developments. Punk and Starks both had a great promo exchange and there are many potential, interesting storylines to come out of using "the belt Punk never lost in the ring". I wonder if they are building towards a Punk vs. MJF unification match, which might be a great main event for All Out (which presumably is in Chicago again). Question is, now that MJF has seemingly turned fully face, would they do a face vs face match or trigger Punk's heel turn proper, maybe in preparation for an eventual run-in with the Elite. Or maybe I am just dreaming. Nevertheless, quite a lot of possibilities and I do like that about my wrestling storylines."
[7.0] "I really did not like the opening ladder match; two good workers but the ladder hampered the whole thing as invariably the ladders themselves (and also tables in this case) take over the match focus in lieu of the storyline in play. A decent match with Darby and Suzuki that gets Darby a needed win. Gravity is awful and thankfully Joe dispatched him in quick time. Very strong promos from Punk and Starks to set up a big match to bring the viewer back next week. BCG match was pretty much a nonsensical spotfest. The women's match was solid and Mercedes looked good so hopefully she gets featured more now. Main event was great with good work all round and a good finish to extend the Cole/MJF team and also a potential feud with FTR. Even though the match card wasn't as good top to bottom this week compared to previous episodes, Collision continues to be a great two hours."
[8.0] "Great episode here. The opener was a very well executed ladder match with some cool spots (****1/4). Then we had Suzuki/Darby which was a relatively quick but effective encounter. After that a squash by Joe on Gravity and the six man tag which was enjoyable thanks to El Hijo Del Vikingo insane high flying offense, apart from him not much there though. Punk's promo was great too, and Starks really impressed me on the mic; the title stuff is a little bit confusing, why did MJF not intervene? And why there's a title match next week? Weird, we will see... The women match was good, they did a good job in the ring and in the post-match. The main event was the second best match of the night with Adam and MJF over as hell and FTR that does not disappoint and the post match even here was good stuff that continues the story between the team of Maxwell and Cole (****)."
[7.0] "Fun to watch but didn't help the build up to Wembley Show almost at all. Opener was really solid, almost ppv worthy : 8/10. Good to see Suzuki but I can't say the same about the match, I didn't like Darby's role in the match but Suzuki played the role of opponent great : 6/10. I don't think I like this Gravity guy. He's still a bit green for this stage and making him a comedy act two shows in a row is not really helping : No Rating. I dig Punk & Starks segment, it was not the type of we was expecting from these men such as one of them is the mouthpiece of AEW and the other is a fucking expert in this kind of stuff but in the end it was helpful for the build-up fun to watch : 7/10. I looked Juice as the savior of this trios match but The Gunns saved it from becoming a complete disaster. They tried to give us Vikingo as the standout of the match from team flip but the young elevating tag team that has a future showed themselves good again : 4/10. Martinez vs Kiera was ok. Finally we get to see that Women's division has a secondary belt after that disasterous Jade Cargill project. Statlander vs Martinez is a promising match for title's prestige and having Willow around is a good choice too : 5.5/10. The Main Event is what I expected, nothing more nothing less. Having FTR doing the heel work for this match was right decision. Max & Cole's entertainment parade should needed to slow down in this match and it did. I'm a bit surprised that MJF get the pin but I was more surprised that I didn't think of it before the match, this was perfectly reasonable for The Devil's awaiting comeback. Overall about the ME, they did everything right but it was a little predictable : 8.5/10. Average 6.5, I'll round it to 7."
[7.0] "Some good stuff on this show but also some lows as well. Thought the opener was really good. Enjoying this Andrade/House of black feud. Suzuki was a great suprise and he had a really fun match with Darby. Punk and Starks promo didn't really work for me. Hard to tell what they were going for. Trios match and women's weren't great. Main event was fun. First hour was definitely better than the second."
[10.0] "This episode absolutely deserves a 10/10 imo because it was exactly what an AEW weekly should be. A highly anticipated main event but everything else on the card was either very good or a good thing for the future, like the women aftermatch. The opener was a good ladder match but I hope Buddy Matthews will get some single wins after this. Darby vs Minoru Suzuki was a good surprise but the good choice here was to make the Christian segment after it. The trio was very good for the Bullet Club Gold booking and also very good for the face team, especially Vikingo, who got to shows some exciting actions! The CM Punk/Ricky Starks segment was awesome, a perfect promo for the match next week and it adds more importance and curiosity for the Wembley show. FTR vs MJF/Adam Cole was great, the finish was perfect and the aftermatch excellent. Collision is a must see from now on."
[8.0] "This week's Collision contained quite a bit of filler, but the major moments felt very important to the future of each storyline. The confrontation between Starks and Punk was a major highlight of the show and set them up for a singles bout in the future in a way that blurred the lines between heels and babyfaces. We also saw our next TBS title feud put into place when Statlander and Martinez got into a fight, so the women's division was given a little attention. FTR vs. Cole and MJF delivered in multiple ways, but when just looking at the action, Matthews and El Idolo stole the show in the opening match."
[10.0] "Incredible episode of Collision. So much happened on this show, and yet it still felt as though things could breathe. One of the finest ladder matches I have seen in a while kicked it off, and it never looked back. People will complain about the X belt from Punk, but he has yet to miss with an angle in his time in AEW. Really enjoyed this showing from Mercedes Martinez as well, setting up a near-future TBS title shot. Joe was Joe, did a fun variation on his walk away spot, and I was surprised at how much I liked Darby and Suzuki, as I had started to tire of the latters fun albeit one-note matches. Anyone whos anyone is a Collider."
[8.0] "Some stuff I really loved, a little bit I didn't like, and some stuff that I think isn't working. The opening match had some good spots, and I liked the end. The Darby match was random, but I laughed at his look of dread when Suzuki's music hit, and Darby went out there and gave a fantastic effort against Suzuki. Gravity looked like an idiot in every way - I hate his astronaut gimmick, it sucks and the crowd boo'ed it immediately. The BCG match was fine as a wrestling match, but what really popped me was that fucking Jay White cutout. Juice Robinson and Jay White are the stars of Collision for me. Another cold women's match that the crowd didn't care about. Had an angle afterwards at least. Main event started slow but then kicked into a higher gear after the Max/Dax face off. The ending was clunky and looked goofed, but the angle after with MJF so emotional, wondering if he would turn was great. My biggest problem with this episode is Punk. The split reaction, weird tweener promos that feel more like heel vs heel, are not working for me given it's been a month now. But the biggest issue was MJF not coming out as Punk blabbers on at length about being the real champ. We know MJF is in the building. Yet Ricky comes out and decides to challenge a fake champion for a fake title reign. WTF? Had MJF come out, ok, makes sense, even if it's just to set up something for later."
[10.0] "A rare 10 for wrestling TV, this show was fantastic top to bottom! Andrade vs Buddy was an awesome ladder match with brutal spots, excellent sequences and a creative finish. One of the best ladder matches I've seen a good while and highly recommended, check it out! ****1/2. Darby vs Suzuki was cold coming in but they put on a solid match with both guys coming out looking good. Good build post match for the TNT title which should be a great match. ***1/2. Toni Storm with a good promo to sell her title match with Shida next week. Joe vs Gravity was a squash, Gravity was the fly that pestered Joe until he got caught. A nice breather. **1/2. While a solid promo from Punk, I wasn't quite sold on the "real champion" angle Punk was running at first until Starks came out and brought some absolute smoke. A great segment from these two and Starks is a star, i'm so glad he's getting the chance to show out. Six man tag was fine and further built up Bullet Club Gold as a force. ***. Hogan vs Martinez was a good match that got some time, it came in cold but got a nice start to the TBS title feud in the aftermath. It's a small step forward for the women, hopefully they do something with it and they get more. ***. Main event was a great match with good drama, built on the anticipation of what happens with MJF and Adam Cole. A genuine "what will they do? " match and angle that's rare to see, with a great ending. ****. This show was just great, it felt important with stories and matches that felt like they mattered, and with a lot of things built up for All In and All Out. You can't ask for more than that."
[9.0] "This was an absolutely fantastic episode of Collision, everything on this show felt like it mattered, even the cold match between Kiera/Mercedes built up and delievered a good solid tv match (Mercedes looked extra up here), The ladder match was great fun, Suzuki vs Darby was a fun surprise, the only negative I have is Gravity being quite bad here, but it was over and done with very quickly, fun 6 man tag that established BC Gold without Jay, and the main event match was extremely good along with the post match swerve non-swerve, a great episode of TV, big thumbs up!"
