"This may be biased, as this was my gateway into wrestling, but I feel this game doesn't get enough praise for what it was. Arguably the best Road to WrestleMania in any WWE game, and a universe mode that has yet to be equaled or bettered. The roster and unlockables were solid, but major names like The Rock and Shawn Michaels being DLC was maybe a touch much. This game paved the way for WWE 13 and WWE 2K14, and the gameplay style over those three games defined a generation of wrestling video games."

[9.0] "WWE 12 changed a lot in the formula from WWE games. This was when the move to simulation started and while there were kinks to work out like how much offence an opponent could take before they would stay down for extended periods, WWE 12 was very much a great wrestling game with a roster that featured some of the 2011 new crop, truly showing how much wwe has changed since then, but it had what some consider to be the best universe mode in wwe game history, so definitely a game that is deserving of a better rating."

Brock Lesnar arriving and taking out a wrestler in my universe mode immediately set the tone for me. I remember playing universe mode and having a Samoa Joe CAW in a year+ long feud with Triple H. This game set the standard for modern WWE games for me and no recent game has reached that standard."

[6.0] "A very entertaining video game. Although you can see that they are just experimenting with the new mechanics and physics, you can really notice a great difference than the SVR 11, being more dynamic than this, but as I said before, the experimentation was noticeable and sometimes the video game feels something strange , the cawa creation is pretty decent, but I think it lacks something, a touch. The universe mode is really quite meh, it is a good thing but it lacks many things, not being able to create a new weekly show is a big mistake or not being able to modify many of the tags created and the lack of stories as in SVR make it quite meh Controls are somewhat simple but they would mark a before and after in wwe video games, the career mode felt quite meh and somewhat crude. The game is fine if the objective is to entertain yourself but if you are looking for something more serious, another game is better besides the fact that the roster felt small even for the time."

Create a story wasnt very intriguing either. I like the creating superstars and finishers which was very fun. Overall this was a good game but quite a few flaws."
