Welcome to the biggest CAGE in the world

Current and historical information about the wrestling business since June 2001 - Number of inmates: 35041

Welcome traveller of the internet! You have found CAGEMATCH, the Internet Wrestling Database. We are advertising-free, free-of-charge, independent and just want to provide a great service for wrestling fans around the world.

This is the English version of the site. If you want to switch to the original German version, click on the little flag on the left side of the header. The German version contains quite a bit more content, mostly text-based (news, show reports, wrestling feud summaries), which is just too much to translate into English -- apologies to any non-German speaking inmates, we hope that you still find it worthwhile to browse our content.

Even though we are completely free-of-charge, we do still have a user account system. By registering with the site you gain the ability to:
- participate in our ratings system
- send us suggestions to improve individual database pages (e.g. worker profiles)
- be part of the biggest cage in the world
- view every site as printable version

Also, please excuse any awkward sentences of non-English text that may have slipped through our army of quality testers. We are happy for any suggestions and constructive criticism you may have, just use the contact form (click on Contact in the header menu), send an email to team[at]cagematch.de or click the little icon on any database profile page (only available if you are registered and logged in). Please expect a short delay in our response, we are working on this page in our free time and our families, real-life work and other commitments require attention as well.

Final note about the ratings system: To fulfill our German stereotype, we pride ourselves with being quite efficient and strict in regards to the ratings system. We demand of anyone who wants to use it that he or she reads the rules of the ratings system and follows them closely. We are concerned about the quality of the site and that includes your comments as well, and the community has been well-appreciative of this approach so far. So if you like to discuss wrestling and comment on stuff in the wrestling world in a sophisticated manner, we will be very happy to have you be part of our community. If you want to bitch, misbehave or otherwise be a trolling idiot, you should better move on to another site. Because WE WILL enforce the rules, even if we have to ban you from the ratings system.

Have fun in the cage, inmate!

[4.0] "For the most part, this was an OK PPV, but there wasn't much to elevate it beyond that level. HHH vs. Vince, Mankind/Rock vs. NAO, Kane vs. X-Pac and Jericho vs. Chyna were all decent, and the tag battle royal was kind of fun for what it was. Stephanie's heel turn was well done if predictable. On the other hand, Angle vs. Blackman (and maybe the Euro Title 3-way) could have been way better with more time, and it's a shame they rushed the payoff to what was actually a pretty hot feud between Big Show and Bossman (3 minutes? ! ). Ultimately, this was probably best known as the show where Miss Kitty ripped her top off."
[6.0] "At its worst (1994-1996; 1999-2001), it was a pale imitation of things that WWF had already run into the ground. At its best, it was interesting, innovative, and unique. There was a time when it was truly WORLD Championship Wrestling. Where WWF had mainly one style of wrestling, WCW brought in an amazing variety of wrestlers with many different styles and booked quite a few innovative match types. You wanted lucha libre? They had it. Japanese junior heavyweights? They had it. Strong style? They had it. Technical, mat-based wrestling? They had it. Old-school heavyweight matches? They had them. Hardcore brawls and gimmick matches? They were one of the first to bring them nationwide. Storylines that expanded the boundaries of what professional wrestling could be, took potshots at the competition, and consistently turned the audience's expectations on their head? They pioneered them. This emphasis on a wide variety of styles made sure that there was something for everyone. It's been trendy to harp on WCW for about 15 years now, and while it does deserve it, its numerous achievements should not be overlooked."
[1.0] "I hate this guy. He only cares about the money. He doesn't work the full schedule. When he was WWE World Champion he only wrestled three matches, Seth Rollins, who was champ for only three days less, wrestled 119 times. Recently, current champ Dean Ambrose worked two different house shows in the same night, granted, that was due to Roman Reigns' suspension but the point is the World Champion should be the hardest working man in the company and Lesnar is far from that. Not all Brock's fault though, I mean, if a company was actually fucking stupid enough to put their World title on you for 32 weeks and you only had to wrestle three times and get paid more than anyone outside of Cena to do it, you would too. Well, I wouldn't because I'd have tact and respect for the business and my co-workers but whatever. He gets to fight in UFC still while under contract, whether WWE agree with it or not but they let him do whatever he wants or he'll throw a tantrum and quit. Minor details, but he gets to be on the cover of the next video game which is more money in this jerk's pocket. Unfortunately I'll give Lesnar some credit, he has put on a few good matches so I won't give him zero. Really hate him, hate WWE for the special privileges he gets even more."
