WCW/nWo Thunder

[5.0] "The feel of the game being arcadish, you can't expect much in the way of deep gameplay. That said they added some fun stuff and improved over WCW Nitro. I really liked the faction updates, but all it did was give them a different shirt. There was a lot of crazy levels and characters that added some replayability. This is probably experienced best as a multiplayer game where Revenge or No Mercy worked on their own."

[10.0] "I just loved all WCW games that were in the prime era of WCW/nWo. And Thunder makes no expection. The roster was even bigger than in the PC version of Nitro. 128 wrestlers were in. The test of strengh mode was funny, but odd, as you could end a match with this method in less than 40 seconds. The rants were the same from PC version of Nitro, aswell es the first 64 wrestlers. New additions were complete new arenas, 64 new secret wrestlers, such as the Nitro girls, commentary team, Doug Dillinger (xD. Also cool epic for me was the faction feature, in which you could decied who appears as a nWo Member, Four Horsemen, nWo Wolfpac, WCW or even Raven's Flock. The best thing was if you changed a wrestler to a other faction, he appears with a different attires. For example you changed Sting from nWo Wolfpac to WCW his attire changes from Wolfpac Sting to Crow Sting. You could also make every wrestler to a nWo or nWo Wolfpac Member, and then you could make a gang war between nWo and nWo Wolfpac (which I made in this game several times when i played it xD). Also could this feature decide who run in's for you. Beside this, this game also had for serveral bonus wrestlers now the correct moves in contrast to WCW Nitro PC. And also the funny bonus arenas were this time stranger than in Nitro. Only downside is that every wrestler could make a frankensteiner. This was not possible in Nitro. But all in all with Wcw Nitro the best PlayStaiton 1 Wrestling game. Alone for the fact that i am big WCW/nWo Fan!"

[3.0] "The fact that this has a battle royal, and you can have it underwater or on the moon, is the whole reason this gets a 3. It's just like Nitro, except you can cheese the system with doing a test of strength to drain your opponents bar. And you can't dive off the top of the cage for some reason. The rants are still great though."

[9.0] "I still remember how could figure out the test of strengh method and the matches were over in 50seconds. xD Man i beat every friend and AI with this cheating method. But honestly, this game was great, but the controls were not as fluid as in WCW Nitro. But this game here as a even bigger roster than Nitro on PC. 128 wrestler (which also includes Public Enemy (Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge), Ric Flair, Nitro Girls, game developers, fantasy characters like a astronaut etc. ) Also had this game every real ppv with authentic arenas. I still love this game also for the cool faction feature, how you could change everyone into a Four Horsemen or nWo Member. This changed also the wrestlers outfit and run in wrestlers. Graphics were even better than in Nitro. Still play this game for nostalgic reason. Even if it is very old, but for me old is gold."

[8.0] "The sequel of Nitro with the updated roster of the PC & N64 version of Nitro. It had nearly all shows (only nitro and wcw saturday night missing), with authentic arenas. Even Road Wild was in this game in the real Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Sturgis North Carolina with the real ambiente. This is the only wrestling game that had this real event with the real location. The things the faction feature that you can change Sting from nWo Wolfpac to Raven's Flock which resulted to custome change and other run-ins very intuive and funny. The controls were simliar to nitro, but know with a grapple mechanic added. This game had for a ps1 wrestling game the best graphics, and looks in retro factor still really good today. Every character model looked like the real counterpart from tv. I never have seen a better Sting model than in this game. Only thing I don't really like about this game is the test of strength feature. If you pressed all the buttons like a madman, the opponent's health indicator quickly went blank and the victory was within 15 seconds. This feature was therefore a cheat and made little sense. And that there were only two groups of wrestlers small and giants was also a step backwards to Nitro. There were three types of wrestlers there. small, large and giants. Hollywood Hogan, who was a big wrestler at WCW Nitro, is just a little wrestler here at Thunder. Here he can suddenly make moves that you would only expect from high flyers: Hurricanrana, Head Scissors ... The foot choke in the corner of the ring can only be performed by giants, like the Giant or Kevin Nash. That was also possible with wrestlers like Scott Hall or Hollywood Hogan in WCW Nitro, because these were big wrestlers. Unfortunately not with Thunder anymore, because these big wrestlers were removed, and now these big wrestlers are only small wrestlers like Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio Jr. or Eddie Guerrero. For me this is a big step backwards, in an otherwise so detailed, good looking and funny game. Therefore i prefer WCW Nitro on PlayStation 1, N64 or even PC with the updated roster we even seen here expanded with new added wrestlers like Public Enemy, Glacier, Nitro girls, crazy characters like a astronaut and what not."
