Dudley Boyz

[5.0] "Time was not kind to them. The original incarnation was one of ECW's great oddball gimmicks, and after a shaky start to their WWF run they began to settle into a nice groove in 2000 and early 2001 as part of the early TLC matches where overbooked brawls hid both their shortcomings, but once that angle was over they rapidly grew stale and uninteresting. After the reunion what remained of their spark had disappeared and the wrestling world had turned and left them behind; neither wrestler was talented or charismatic enough to adapt or evolve, and it felt increasingly like they were doing a hackneyed and watered-down version of themselves, especially their run as Team 3D during TNA's poor man's WWE era. A good time and place team, but unfortunately they spent far too much of their career not in it."

[5.0] "Frankly, I don't get that much out of the Dudley's as others, I've watched the TLC matches (obviously) and those stand the test of time. They are legendary for what they are and they played a good part in making them legendary. Outside of those three matches there isn't that much substance. They did some pretty good work in TNA with a few great matches, in specific the Full Metal Mayhem with Matt and Jeff ruled. Outside of that, I found that their body of work was rather boring if not bad. Pretty much every Dudley's match I've watched that was enjoyable was with another all timer team, whether its MCMG, the Hardys, or the American Wolves. There's nothing wrong with a team getting carried or getting a good match off someone else, but in these matches they are almost always the weaker link. In total, not my cup of tea after watching matches from every era that they performed in."

[10.0] "The best tag team in the world. They were entertaining on the mic and were great workers with and without tables. The only downside it Bubba is clearly better than D-Von both as a team as separately. Still, there's a reason they have the most tag titles in wrestling."

[10.0] "A legendary tag team. An important part of the trio of tag teams that helped build that division in the Attitude Era. Their inclusion in the TLC matches was ground breaking. They also helped make ECW the iconic company that it became."

[7.0] "The Dudley Boyz were never the best movers but their strength based offence always looked effective. Sometimes I do think that they had an over reliance on the tables gimmick and when the tables aren't in play it kind of exposes that they're not the GOAT tag team that a lot of people claim they are. They have performed and succeeded all over the world however so their style clearly appeals to multiple audiences with different wants in a tag team. Overall they're pretty decent but not in my mount rushmore"

[6.0] "Not for me. Good in the big TLC matches obviously but Bubba Ray has always had a noxious quality to me that makes it difficult for me to watch his matches, and I've never found D-Von particularly charismatic. Their big 2015 nostalgia run didn't work as hoped either."

[9.0] "These two had great matches and were treated like a big deal in ECW, WWE and TNA. They were always able to get a reaction from the crowd with their charisma. Wouldn't call them top tier workers but still went to crazy lengths to entertain the crowd."

[8.0] "I'm not a fan of some of their garbage style antics but in the ring, they were pretty good and had some lovely power moves and joint offence. An amazing history as well spanning ECW, WWE, TNA, AJPW and NJPW."

[10.0] "One of the greatest teams in history. They were just so damn good together, fun to watch and they've had so many classic moments throughout the years. Their ECW run was alright, but I felt like once they went to the WWE it skyrocketed them onto a whole different level. They obviously needed good teams to go against, but they could hang with the best of them. Their TNA run together was great too, was refreshing to see them face new guys instead of being stuck with a dead WWE tag team division. Wish they went back to WWE sooner as they could've had a few more years together within the promotion, but the year? they had together in the mid 2010s was fun."

[10.0] "What a team! One of the greatest WWE/WWF tag team stables ever. They put their lives on the line for our entertainment, they made every moment feel special. Nobody does the table spots better than the Dudley Boyz. Haven't seen the TNA run, but seen ECW & WWF runs. I also do believe that they have the best cutter in the business. Sorry Orton & DDP."

They send the crowd into a spiral of joy with the simple use of a table, and of course theyre great wrestling ability."

[4.0] "They were fun in ECW and initially in WWF/E but they massively overstayed their welcome and relied on little more than cheap heat, gimmick matches and nostalgia for many many years. My heart sinks whenever they walk out in TNA as I am about to be bored out of my mind. Their run from 98-2000 was great but they were still going 16 years later."

[10.0] "A sum far greater than it's parts. D-Von was the fundamentally sound, Bubba was the zazz. The chemistry was undeniable. Both were quite confident and comfortable on the mic. Selling and bumping machines, as giving as they were apt to "lay em in", and always had VERY watchable matches. Gelled well with many, excelled with most. Watch them help revitalize and revolutionize turn of the century tag team wrestling. Totally solid. Very/Highly recommended."

[10.0] "An acceptable answer when debating who the greatest tag team of all time is. We all know about the high spots and the iconic table moments, but The Dudley Boyz also had incredible psychology. They made sacrifices for one another while playing to each other's strengths. Neither was the best wrestler individually, but they blended their styles and could adapt to any opponent. Incredible influence and countless classic moments and matches. From ECW to WWE to TNA."

[9.0] "I have to admit, Dudley Boyz were the ones who inspired me to watch ECW. And I'm glad they did, because till this day I love ECW with all my heart. I also love these two guys - Bubba Ray and Devon. Their unique looks combined with overflowing charisma was the factor that made them so great. Both dressed like dorks with these giant glasses and looked like retards, did incredible promos hyping the crowd up like cocaine. They were the ones who introduced me into hardcore wrestling. I've never seen before putting anybody though the burning table. These guys did. One of the craziest and most charismatic tag teams in history."

[9.0] "I'll be the first to admit that neither man on their own are a particular remarkable, blow you out of the water type of worker, but solid and consistent and as a unit the Dudleyz are not the flashiest or technically proficient teams either. What they are however are charismatic, innovative, ground-breaking, seasoned veterans, with a knack for ring and crowd psychology and have proved over the years they can work with any type of team, in and outside of the US and can get over with audiences with ease and that level of staying power alone will push them close to the top of one of the best tag teams in pro wrestling history."

[5.0] "As innovators and noteriety go, The Dudley Boyz are one of the top tag teams in the past 30 years. As far as work, ability and wrestling goes, they are one of the most overrated tag teams of the past 30 years. Bubba Ray proved his worth as a singles guy as a decent wrestler (At least imo) and an excellent promo but in the Dudleyz, he was very, very mediocre (w/ few exceptions of course). D-Von was meh at best and everything decent and charismatic about the team was mostly Bubba. Now, I won't downplay 98-00 runs because a lot of it is good but anything after, they are skip worthy. Lazy and uninspired from there on out. Now if they wrestled until the left WWE, I probably would've given them a 8-9 but their post prime run spanned over 10 years. They were the worst part of the tag division after the better teams in WWE broke up and they were bad in TNA too. The ECW run was good but it doesn't take away the rest, sadly."

[7.0] "The Dudley Boyz were an iconic tag team in ECW, and whilst they had decent success in WWE, they didn't reach the heights they had done in ECW. As workers, they were good, sometimes really good, and Bubba Ray was a strong talker."

[9.0] "A really iconic tag team in wwe and ecw history. They are known for hardcore matches like the infamous TLC matches with hardyz and edge/christian. They took some of the nastiest bumps and most iconic moments i have ever seen. Their character was really entertaining and bubba's mic work was spectacular. But one thing prevent me from giving 10 is their in ring work wasn't the greatest like others said in my opinion."

[10.0] "Everywhere the Dudleys go, tag team gold is soon to follow, and for good reason. Bully and Devon are both capable brawlers and heat magnets on their own, but combine to form one of the all-time great tag teams. Always can be counted on for good matches, often using their brawling and hardcore skills, and have been part of several classics, such as the TLC matches with the Hardyz and Edge & Christian. Both men have also had degrees of success as singles, such that it now seems like a big deal when they reform as a team. Outside the ring, they further contribute to the business through their wrestling school."
