[9.0] "One of the top brawlers on the indy scene and a long-term mainstay with Ring of Honor (having been with the company since its very first show in 2002), Jay Briscoe is best-known overall as a tag wrestler alongside brother Mark, but in the last few years he has also proven that he can stand on his own as a main event-level singles wrestler, having become only the second two-time ROH World Champion. For good reason - not only can he brawl with the best of 'em, he is also able to tell a story in the ring and make what he does matter to the crowd. Since dropping the World Title to Jay Lethal, he has shown that he's at a point where he can seamlessly move between the main event and midcard, and singles and tag ranks as the situation calls for."

[8.0] "Long time ROH tag team great has transitioned well as a dominant main event singles star and over the last couple of years. He has the look of a main eventer, which is something that ROH talents usually lack. He looks badass and has added muscle to his frame and has decent size. He's still young and has a bright career ahead of him. He can work the mike and has an extremely credible gimmick/character, because its actually himself in real life. He is a well schooled technical wrestler who is one of the best brawlers and can take to the air as well. He's not perfect though, and his flaws and limitations have been exposed now that he is not always wrestling in a tag team. He needs to learn how to tell a story and get the crowd emotionally invested in the match, because alot of the time, his matches seem just like one long sequence of spots, rather than a story. He will need to improve this aspect of his game."

[9.0] "There are very few multiple time ROH champions, and it's seems fitting that Jay is one of the few considering how loyal he and his brother have been to the fed, hell they were practically raised there. Something I think his rough style limits his range just a tiny bit but I'm still always impressed a great deal when I see him. Tough as hell and talented to boot."

[10.0] "Roderick Strong may be called "Mr. ROH" but it's hard to argue with "Since Day One" Jay Briscoe. In the very first show, in the very first match, there was Jay Briscoe. And since then, a 2X ROH World Champion and 8X ROH World Tag Team Champion."
JMTheBadOne wrote on 12.12.2014:
[7.0] "A tag-team standout on the indies and smaller major promotions, Jay Brisco is now currently in the middle of his second run with the ROH World Championship. He looks to be a bit more natural at wrestling than his brother, Mark, and is looking to be a strong champion for ROH."
Phenomenal91 wrote on 03.08.2014:
[9.0] "This man is the measuring stick of Ring of Honor. If you're in Ring of Honor, and you can't have a good match against this guy (either solo or with his brother Mark), you're nothing. His achievements as a tag team wrestler speak for themselves, and his reign as ROH World Champion was an unexpected and welcome surprise. Hopefully he'll achieve singles success again, but. of course, I'll relish any opportunity to watch him and his brother put on a great tag team classic."
statoke wrote on 25.02.2013:
[8.0] "Has massive potential but stays with his brother who is holding him down and doesn't split because he knows that he'll go to the top while Mark would not. Eight time ROH Tag Champs is too much and I would say they are just getting boring, split up now or you'll never be as good as you can be."
