His aerial offense is unparalleled, his striking is great, and while Ric Flair may or may not have been able to have a compelling match with a broom, Kota Ibushi HAS had a wildly impressive match with a blowup doll. He can pull off a pitch perfect comedy match, and a proper 5 star match (see: Wrestle Kingdom 9) all the same. A true talent."

[10.0] "Golden star! I've loved Ibushi for many years, and now that he is getting his chance in the upper levels of NJPW it's the perfect time for everyone to get on board. One of the best flyers working today, and a great worker when grounded as well. Sky's the limit for this guy, maybe literally!"

[8.0] "I'm going against the grain here, and I really WANT to like Ibushi. But in the end this is a guy who just has to get all his stuff in, with little concern for any sort of psychology or taking into account the rest of the match. Also don't see him as a world class technical or mat-based wrestler at all. Decent strikes but not top tier in puroresu. I will say if you value spectacular moves Ibushi is your ticket because he's certainly an elite flyer with moves that can dazzle you, as well as a great wrestler to show non-wrestling fans and can win them over. Just not for a more jaded fan like me. EDITED: Improving at a rapid rate in terms of ring psychology and is currently having one of the top years in the wrestling world. It's time for a bump up, potentially even higher if he keeps it up for a longer period of time."

[10.0] "Definitely one of the best wrestler in the world (top 20 in my opinion). Kota ibushi is very agile (he is the best at doing the Phoenix Splash) and a good stricker too. This man is my pick to win the New Japan Cup 2015. I want to see a rematch of the last Wrestle Kingdom ! Shinsuke Nakamura (c) vs. Kota Ibushi was sooooo good !"

[10.0] "Currently rising the ranks of New Japan, Ibushi is a stalwart for the DDT promotiom in Japan. A 3x IWGP Jr. Heavyweight champion and one of the most exciting wrestlers going today."
JMTheBadOne wrote on 15.02.2015:
[7.0] "Kota Ibushi is a standout from DDT who is now an integral part of New Japan Pro Wrestling's Jr. Heavyweight division. He had a pretty good feud with Prince Devitt which came to a solid finish at Wrestle Kingdom 8. He showed resilience after injury and is now competing in the heavyweight division for New Japan."
