He was another territory guy who looked like he could have been the third Young Stallion but a rung below Jim Powers and Paul Roma. Solely there to put over the mid card and main event heels but not a total loser who got beat pillar to post without any offense. He sometimes got in the token offense before losing but can't say much else. Kind of your typical CAW character. His entire career was book ended by the start of the 80's and the end of the decade and he died at a very young age and it was later revealed his name had appeared several times on a list of a steroid doctor who supplied the WWF."

Jerry is just one of those guys who can put a solid performance in the ring and usually never disappoint, depending on who he faces. He was never too flashy with his move set, which is a good and a bad thing. He somehow reminds me of Bret Hart in the ring. Speaking of Bret Hart, Allen & Hart should've gotten a MSG match or a Philly match, and it would be considered a hidden gem. Outside of the Federation, Jerry Allen got to hold the AWA southern heavyweight title from Randy Savage back in May 1985. He also briefly worked in Verne's AWA and Von Erich's WCCW in the mid-80s. I was never a fan of his heel work however, he just couldn't convince me as a heel. I wish Jerry continued to for WWF or WCW past 1989. I feel like he could've fitted in ECW and feuded with guys like Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Tazz, RVD, or Sabu. Although if he went to WCW in 1995/1996, he probably would've returned to jobber status like he did in the WWF in the late 80s. I wouldn't mind seeing Jerry Allen return to the WWF during the attitude or ruthless aggression era. Would've been a multi-era wrestler if he hadn't died and didn't retire in 1989 or 1992. Just imagine a match or a feud with guys like Triple H, Undertaker, John Cena, The Rock, Steve Austin, Brock Lesnar or Randy Orton."

Edited version: One of the best enhancement talents from the mid to late 80's anywhere you saw him. Looked TREMENDOUS and had an excellent physique, hard and versatile worker for the era. I liked what he did in World Class for sure, he was given time to showcase some of his abilities there and gelled very well with Steve Simpson. His tenure in the WWF was looking mostly lousy on Saturday morning but looking definitely good at house shows and on Primetime Wrestling. He had a knack for tag wrestling as well and that might have been the sweet spot for him if not for a premature demise. I wish he had stayed in the business and lived much longer; as he was beginning to bald and had he shaved his head and grown a goatee while keeping *that body*, he could have been a solid mid card heel, would have fit in great in a Jim Herd WCW or a fledging ECW in the mid 90's. Rest in peace, and tragically gone WAY too soon. Very watchable for what's there, even as a tackling dummy he does better than most. 7.5"

But heard that he beat Randy Savage for CWA Southern heavyweight belt and had a few runs in places like Portland Wrestling, AWA, & World Class.By the time he went to WWF he got bulkier with Steroids and was a carbon copy of Jim Powers & Paul Roma. When Allen was in the WWF, he was used as a jobber and lost to Ted DiBiase, Hercules, Bob Orton Jr, and Harley Race. Allen only got wins over lower level heel guys at house shows."
