"One of the easiest 10/10 rating decisions you can make, not sure why he isn't rateable. One of the longest reigning world champions in wrestling to this day he established himself as the most skilled wrestler of his era and marketed himself into being probably it's first big mainstream star."

"Mount Rushmore of wrestling. Frank Gotch is probably the most imporant figure in professional wrestling history, bringing it to the forefront and still being talked about fairly often over 100 years after his death. The only possible rivals I see for being more important in all reality are Lou Thesz, Ed The Strangler Lewis, George Hackenschmidt, or Jim Londos. Frank redefined the industry in a way very few were able to do, and he deserves a 10 for that. His work with Hackenschmidt has always been considered incredible, even if any and all Gotch film has since been lost to time, he never lost his world championship, instead retiring as champ back when the sport was still substantially credible, Frank is a god for both amature and pro wrestling fans and should be in every single wrestling hall of fame, no excuses."

"According to many accounts, newspapers from the era, and all abode, he may have very well been the man who first brought popularity to the sport. An unknown legend, but an existing one regardless."

"From what I have read about Gotch he had the wrestling ability of Ric Flair and the popularity of Hulk Hogan."

"The legend. Despite the lack of any actual footage the man manages to capture the interest of a lot of newer fans just based on the legacy he brought to the sport of wrestling. The feud between him and Hackenschmidt is often talked about by historians. He helped put wrestling on the map but I tend to agree with the notion of not scoring unless you actually saw his work, and I highly doubt anyone here lived back in the early 1900's."

"I would love to hear from those who voted for Gotch. The site requires you saw him wrestler first hand. So how many 120 year old men are on this site exactly."
