I'm glad he got his world title and was one of the rare ex WCW main eventers that got to have a decent WrestleMania moment with a great match with Christian and winning the European Title."

One of my favorite wrestlers from the attitude era due to a mix of his finisher, general presentation, and generally being involved in some pretty hot angles that I can remember. Fuck Vince McMahon for ruining the final years of his career, true wrestling fans will remember him for his time in WCW."

[10.0] "Diamond Dallas Page is one of those "you had to be there" type of pro wrestlers. If you weren't watching WCW during their boom period, you just don't understand what DDP meant to WCW fans. He was basically everyone's 2nd favorite 'good guy' behind Sting. The Diamond Cutter was the best finisher in the business (yes, better than the Stunner) and it was electric whenever he hit it. DDP also had some of the best matches in WCW's history vs. Savage, Sting, and even Goldberg. The fact that he got a damn near 5 star match against Goldberg tells you how awesome DDP actually was in the ring before the injuries piled up. It's a shame he didn't get a better run in WWE, but of course his post wrestling career has been incredibly special and is worthy of a 10 vote alone. BANG!"

DDPs journey up the ranks of WCW was great and deserved, its a really tragedy that WWF then treated him terribly. Top tier main eventer."

[10.0] ""The People's Champ" is just a title but DDP actually earned it. It is mind boggling that he didn't start wrestling consistently until he was into his late 30s. One of the most best babyfaces during the late 90s but he was also a great heel. The Diamond Cutter was and still is one of the most over finishers of all-time. As blue collar as they come. It's me-It's me-It's D-D-P! BANG!"

Got into wrestling late, hustled his ass off to get to the main event during the largest boom period the business has ever seen, and did all of that while remaining a humble guy who stuck to his morals. That's not even getting into how many lives and souls he's saved since. Pretty good in the ring, though anyone with a clue will tell you that's the least important part of anything."

His rise in WCW during the Monday Night Wars made him a true people's champion, with feuds against the NWO and classic matches that still hold up. DDP connected with fans through authenticity and grit, and his Diamond Cutter became one of wrestling's most over finishers. Add in his post-wrestling success with DDP Yoga, and his impact stretches far beyond the ring"

[10.0] "DDP's contribution to wrestling and the world around it is incredible. After beginning his wrestling journey at 36 years old, which is extremely late considering Stone Cold retired at the age of 38 in 2002, DDP began to work hard rack up storylines and titles in WCW. WWE eventually basically ruined the DDP character, but was reinvented in TNA where he actually had some decent matches. While DDP was an average-good wrestler, like I said, his contributions are unmatched. DDP has literally saved the lives of Jake Roberts, Scott Hall, Buff Bagwell, Scotty Riggs, and many more wrestlers, and everybody else with his DDP Yoga buisness. This man is incredible and we are truly blessed as wrestling fans, and as human beings, to have DDP in our lives and in the world."

[10.0] "Aside from an extremely brief first run (like, extremely brief: 3 matches), DDP didn't lace up a pair of boots until he was 35 years old, and not only that, he parlayed it into multiple title runs and became one of WCW's hottest babyfaces during its peak years. This is truly remarkable and a testament to not only his work ethic and drive, but his skills as both an in-ring competitor and promo guy. This dude managed to get an amazing ten-minute singles match out of BILL GOLDBERG. Nuff said, really. There's just this natural charisma, charm, and likeability surrounding Page, which lends itself to being either a babyface or a heel, both of which he excelled at, in the ring and on the mic. I still believe that if he hadn't been sabotaged by a petty Vince McMahon into the Sara angle when he first debuted, DDP could've really been a major star for WWE for a year or two and a bridge between WWE's Attitude Era and the burgeoning Ruthless Aggression era in his twilight years. Unfortunately that angle basically murdered any momentum and goodwill he could've built up with the WWF audience, so he was doomed to the bottom of the card wrestling for the European title. But, like everything else, it is what it is. The other big thing worth mentioning, of course, is DDP's contribution to the world after hanging up his boots. While yes, DDP Yoga was/is a lot of hokey marketing and DDP is still making a buck off of it, you can't deny its profound effect on countless people, including of course, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Scott Hall. It's not too much of a stretch (no pun intended) to say that DDP saved Jake and Scott from succumbing to their addictions. It's extremely heartwarming and inspirational, which can kind of sum up DDP's career arc in general. I'd like to give him a 9.5 but obviously I have to choose between rounding up or down. I think rounding up is fair, given Dallas's previously-mentioned contributions to the wrestling world."

He's so over with the fans, he has the best finisher in WCW, he's somehow a jersey greaseball and the most likeable possible babyface. When La Parka hits Macho Man with a diamond cutter and pulls off the mask and it's been Dallas the whole time, I screamed. I was truly shocked. I was as delighted and shocked as viewers in 97 would have been. I thought him and Kimberly were the coolest people in the world as a 6 year old, and watching again as an adult I am proud of my taste as a little kid, he ruled."

He was a late bloomer in the professional wrestling world but worked his ass off any single time he stepped into that ring. He's worked WCW, AAA, WWF, NWA, TNA & AEW. He was mostly positioned as a lower midcarder from 1991 to around Early 1996. He started getting pushed and slowly became a fan favorite. He hit his peak around 1997-1999 where he captured mid card titles and main event titles, managed to have amazing matches on any show. 2000-02 is more of a sore spot in his career. He was hot as a babyface and turned heel, quickly killing it. Had weird feud after weird feud and closed WCW in a team with Kevin Nash, when WCW was bought out by the WWF, he became a lower midcard stalker joke being squashed by Undertaker and his fucking wife. It seemed like hopes were up around 2002 with his European Title reign and his new motivational character gimmick but he sustained a neck injury which forced him to leave the WWF/E. He went to TNA in 2004-05 but was broken down and beaten up."

After that DDP became a very good and very reliable worker. In my opinion he got the best match out of Goldberg in his entire career. It's an all time classic not just WCW but in all of wrestling. His promos were also really good and got better as his career went on. His heel work in the early and mid-90's is underrated and very entertaining."

Spent much of his early career as an extremely punchable heel and decent mid-carder...then 1997 comes around and he ends up everyone's favorite wrestler in one fell swoop with a monumental face turn by rebelling against Hall and Nash. DDP being such a punk fit so perfectly in the nWo era that he had no choice but to become a massive star. He backed up his newfound glory with a notable uptick in his ring skills and I would argue he became the most consistently good wrestler in the entire company not including the midcard legends like Mysterio and Guerrero. Sucks that WWE burying him + an injury put him out in the early 2000's, I think if he stuck around a little while longer he would have been a great fit for a more low-key company like TNA."

In some ways, he epitomizes the risk of the heavy gimmick, stuck behind a highly exaggerated persona for years until he finally had the confidence to simplify his act and be himself. As a scrappy, salt of the earth kind of guy he was hugely likable. The sudden, match-winning impact of the Diamond Cutter meant that fans could stay with him through terrible beatings, and the NWO storyline gave him a real chance to shine More bookers need to look back at DDP and think about what a difference a protected finisher can make."

[10.0] "There's so much to enjoy over all of the years Page was in the biz, only the WWF/E run does not come with a recommendation. I loved Badd Company in the AWA, he was a perfect brash overbearing mouth piece. I liked the same character as a manager for The Fabulous Freebirds. I loved The Diamond Mine stable (the Diamond Dolls was such a great touch) and the Diamond Studd character that he created was great (it was the demo version of Razor Ramon). Slowly coming up in the ranks of WCW's undercard was really fun, at that point in time it's exactly where he belonged and he made for a good watchable product. Was all over WCW Saturday Night and the team with Vinnie Vegas as The Vegas Connection very much so WORKED. The story of "losing everything" was fun and he really did look like a bum there for a quick minute. Was THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPION long before the Rock was dubbed the same. Lit late 90's WCW on FIRE and was one of the true leading reasons why the company was so hot during that timeframe. Hard working and probably the definitive OVER ACHIEVER outside of Mick Foley. This guy, THIS GUY! and his DDP yoga, even outside of wrestling we have nothing but a gem....I can keep going with the glowing, this guy could work well with pretty much anyone and excelled with most. Fantastic seller, great body language and tippy top tier crowd connectivity."

Then, he started wrestling in WCW and I still found him obnoxious for several more years until 1997, when he diamond cut Scott Hall and Kevin Nash and rejected the invitation to join the nWo. From then on, he was a favorite. His run in the WWF was disappointing, to say the least. Why they had him stalking Undertaker's wife when he had Kimberly at home. I would've had Undertaker stalking Kimberly instead. Truthfully, though, there would've been no stalking. Either way, while in WCW, DDP was over like rover and he became the underdog of the people, behind only Luger and Sting in the heirarchy."

[10.0] "It can certainly be said that DDP made his own way in the wrestling business. After a good run as a manager in AWA, he began training for active competition at age 35, a point where many wrestlers are already starting to eye retirement. Despite his age, he grew quickly into a reliable in-ring performer with a great deal of natural charisma. Early on he continued his heel persona from his AWA days, but after turning face his everyman persona, charisma and mastery of his Diamond Cutter finisher skyrocketed his popularity with the fans. He especially excelled in the role of the babyface fighting from underneath, making you root for him against all odds. Had a phenomenal feud with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and later gave Goldberg his career-best match. After WCW, his WWE run was marred by being given a poor character and being poorly booked and injuries soon led to his career winding down, but he was "my guy" among the top WCW babyfaces and remains one of my favorite wrestlers of the "Monday Night Wars" era. Now known for his yoga program, which I can say from personal experience is the real deal."

He started late but really worked hard and improved so much in just a few short years. His 96 and 98 is so so different. The Diamond cutter is my most favourite finisher of all time, even over Stone Cold Stunner, because of all the different ways he was able to perform the move. Nowadays cutter is just nothing, just like todays wrestling as a whole. Ddp to this day is a very good self promoter, he got the right friends but he got himself over through hard work and innovative skills. The look, the diamond cutter, the diamond hand sign, the catch phrases, his yoga these days - the guy just wont stay still and you cant keep him from evolving. He wasnt my personal favourite wrestler, I dont think he would make my top 10 list, but I admire his hard work and he made himself so important during his era. So many tshirts and diamond hand signs in the crowds, he really elevated himself and deserved much better from wwe. Two stupid gimmicks and stupid looks a european title and a tag title, if I remember correctly. Could have been a peoples champs vs peoples champ program, or let him wrestle Benoit again, instead he got 5 minute nonsensical matches in between pillow fights and midget hermaphrodites dancing, or whatever wwf was doing at that time."

Sting is said to be the "franchise" of WCW, but in many ways I would say DDP fits that bill much better as he persevered through ups and downs, through good periods and bad ones, how he always gave genuine effort whether he was given something good to work with or not. It's a shame WWF completely squandered what star power he had, but he has maintained both his famous positive attitude and his relevancy as he teaches older wrestlers how to take care of their bodies like never before with his acclaimed yoga program. And after wrestling, he helped reverse the fortunes of two of wrestling's most troubled personalities: Jake Roberts and Scott Hall. He is a true inspiration for anyone who ever wanted to be a wrestler, and a great guy outside of the ring. BANG!"
