[4.0] "Far too slow to ever do anything exciting in the ring and possesses zero charisma. His gimmick is pretty much just that he wears a chain, pulls the finger, screams "f*ck you! ", and has a mentally deranged look on his face every time he wrestles. He can occasionally use his no-selling to create tension, but this is always once in a blue moon and only ever occurs when he is facing a really top tier performer, such as Ishii. Being that he is so slow this also means that his opponents often have to slow themselves down to match his pace, resulting in pretty boring matches. He is really over with the Japanese crowd for some reason, apparently being quite involved in Japanese pop culture. That must be where he gets all his support from, since what he offers in the ring is incredibly sub-par. Nagata, Tenzan, Liger, and heck, even Nakanishi to some extent have all stepped up their game in 2016 to show that they can still go and give decent to good matches despite their age. Why can't Makabe do this? I believe it's not because of his age, but because Makabe just doesn't possess good natural wrestling skills. He's a pure gimmick-guy, and a very poor one at that."

A good brawler and believable badass with a good amount of 3. 5+ star (personal rating, not Meltzer rating) matches under his belt. His biggest problem aside from being limited, is his offense can be formulaic, and you can see some things a mile ahead but I still pop for those spots."

Started making his name back in 2007 with his involvement in Apache and brought that hardcore strong style to NJPW, which led to some very amazing feuds through out the years. An amazing pro wrestler ! If you dont believe me check his matches every year in the Tokyo Dome."

[7.0] "Togi Makabe's a pretty decent powerhouse wrestler who is likely better suited for mid-card attractions as opposed to being a main event wrestler (though he is rightfully a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. ) Tough and charismatic, he can be a bit overzealous at times and put his opponents at risk of legitimate injury."

[7.0] "Dependable charismatic veteran bruiser for New Japan. The Unchained Gorilla is a former heavyweight champion so anybody who beats him gets some credibility. Getting a little long in the tooth but can still work good matches if given the right opponent and they keep it under 15 minutes. Still very popular, with an intimidating look, brawling style, and good promos. Impressive array of clotheslines and power moves. Great brawler and great hardcore wrestler. His promo making ability has landed him numerous appearances on mainstream Japanese Television."
