As far as funny characters goes, Blue Meanie was totally fine. Not my favorite but had some moments."

He doesnt deserve the condemnation he gets on here i dont believe, but wrestling fans that take shit too seriously are always gonna hate on the comedic wrestlers"

[6.0] "Total guilty pleasure comedy guy, and one of the best at it. A unique gimmick in that it made the usually deadly serious ECW fanbase loosen up and have a little fun, which is always nice to see, and the BWO is legendary in and of itself, so what's not to love?"

[2.0] "Goofy comedy character, could bump and do the J-O-B as well as anybody. Heard he was great in ECW, but I never watched."

[2.0] "Great gimmick and great guy, but not the greatest wrestler ever. Was he the absolute drizzling shits? No. But could he wrestle at all? HELL No."

[5.0] "All points earned on "guilty pleasure" and "charm". I absolutely adore the bWo, mark out moronically for it as much as I fast forward right past the nWo. While I'm not big on comedy wrestling - It's usually my type of comedy; 110% commitment, physical and usually saturated in camp. He almost always kept in good company so that helped. He's very likeable and a real deal FAN of wrestling. Was VERY giving when it came time for ass kickings. 4.5 rounded up. talented? ...eh. dedicated? VERY."

[5.0] "I loved the Blue Meanie at the time. He was really funny with Stevie Richards in ECW and added to the general insanity of attitude era. He had a nice moonsault that didn't always land and a pretty good DDT. Got himself in incredible shape towards the end of ECW and had some success as a promoter. I enjoyed his brief run in "Blue Balls" with Mahoney for Extreme Rising. I think there had to be a limit to how often you can utilize this character and skill set but he's memorable and entertaining. He seems like a really good guy and it's clear he's remembered fondly given that he is still brought in for battle royals and multi-mans by ROH, WrestleCade and MLW."

[2.0] "I'm sure he's a really nice guy, but he was a horrific wrestler. I don't have anything else to say, he was terrible!"

[1.0] "I've never been a fan of comedy wrestling but sometimes I don't mind it. With this guy comedy wrestling is the least of my problems. He's a terrible wrestler."

[5.0] "He was fine for what he was. I mean, ECW was full of garbage "wrestlers" who still get a free pass for old times sake so why can't the Blue Meanie get a free pass as well? The guy was never meant to go one on one against Tazz or have a bloodbath against New Jack: he was there to make people laugh and fulfilled that role very well. But I keep on wondering what he was doing in Raven's Nest..."

[2.0] "Garbage. To be a comedy wrestler, you first HAVE to be a good wrestler in the first place. This is something that's true for the likes of Toru Yano or Colt Cabana (guys who, for better or for worse, could actually legit wrestle seriously when required and busted their ass doing so before moving to a more comedic style) Blue Meanie is incapable of doing so to any reasonable standard, and remains likely the worst guy overall quality wise in ECW. The only thing he could do was a moonsault, which was botched most of the time and even when done correctly looked even worse than Lita's knee first moonsault. At least that was over. Meanie was by far the worst out of the BWO, and was a chore every time he was around, either wrestling, or cutting some shitty backstage promo."

[7.0] "I absolutely loved the Blue Meanie back in the day. Meanie-Sault was on point , and he was funny as Hell. Loved him in the Blue World Order."

[2.0] "Funny as hell. But not a good wrestler. I like his interviews he does and his acts. The dance he did was crazy. I heard he's a nice guY!"

[1.0] "I hate total comedy characters. If I was ever watching wrestling & Meanie was on & someone saw me, I would be very embarrassed."

[4.0] "Da Blue Guy is a comedy character through and through, and an entertaining one at that. He was perfect in a sidekick role and his antics made him popular with the ECW faithful. Could also take bumps and could impressively pull off his moonsault."

[6.0] "Blue Meanie wasn't really anything in the ring, but his ring work wasn't the point. He was an entertainer, and did a good job playing the clueless putz's clueless putz role in ECW."

[5.0] "Blue Meanie was never good, or even great. Personally I've always liked him but I can't rationally explain why."

[4.0] "Wow is the Meanie really that low? I guess a lot of it has to do with his in ring stuff, which was passable. I can't really think of any good Meanie matches, but the character was often at ring side for some interesting moments."

[6.0] "Not much of an athlete, but very good instincts as an entertainer, and his wrestling promotion had a moderate amount of succes, buzz and good matches. Not bad considering the card he was dealt."

[6.0] "Meanie gets a lot of low ratings here. Why? Because he wasn't the sort of wrestler who he was never meant to be, anyway. He wasn't ever a great worker, or a physical specimen, a main event player, etc. But you know what? He wasn't trying to be any of those things. He was a comedy act. And he was perfectly good at that role, particularly during his main run in ECW. I'd probably give him a 5 but I'm bumping it up to 6 to balance the bad reviews."

[3.0] "The best thing about Blue Meanie is the fact that he has a win over notorious bully John Layfield. His moonsault is floppy, his look is atrocious and his humor does nothing for me, but I suppose it did wonders for fans of BWO. He bumped pretty well too but that's pretty much a requirement for the ECW environment."

[8.0] "Here's the thing about Brian "The Blue Meanie" Heffron - he only takes NO for an answer. I mean, can you blame him, though? It isn't his fault. He's a Blue Meanie. Blue Meanies only take NO for an answer. So, are his matches any good? NO! Are any of his storylines particularly memorable, his run as Raven's goof's goof notwithstanding? NO! Could he have been a WWF Hardcore Champion at some point in 1999 or 2000? Hey, I'm not putting words in Vince McMahon's mouth or anything. But maybe, just maybe, that YES alone is worth a solid 8. I mean, let's face it: you laughed your sweet bumhole off when he beat JBL on SmackDown. Or did you?"

[4.0] "The guy wasn't a great worker, but he knew his way around the ring for sure. Shit, the guy could hit a moonsault. On top of that, he's hilarious and has had some of the funniest skits/segments in wrestling history. This low rating is criminal!"

[7.0] "The Meanie was a joy to watch in the BWO years. He was always like this big kid who lived in mom and dads garage, that played video games and ate cheetos, but also showed up to wrestle. He took ome pretty good bumps in the role. My favourite Meanie quote "Of course I am Blue. If I wasn't I would just be called The Meanie. ""

[6.0] "He was a comic relief jobber and he did it alright. I'll admit he was pretty meh in the ring but that really adds to his character. 2 extra points for bWo and his theme song which is probably the best theme song in all of ECW"

[5.0] "I looked forward to his appearance every week on ecw. His talent got lost in a big stage like wwe. Not suited for a serious wrestling match, but a lot of fun playing a comedy stooge roll for tv skits"

[8.0] "Blue Meanie was good at the job he was there for: a comedy wrestler and sidekick for Stevie Richards. He could/can take a hell of a bump. In addition, he was WAY over with the ECW loyals. Once ECW folded, he was good enough to be brought over to the WWF roster while many of his ECW compatriots were cut loose. Most people hold Colt Cabana in high regard and he is basically the same type of wrestler as Meanie. Both bring a ton of personality to their profession and get over huge with the fans..."
