[8.0] "The best GM in Smackdown history. Solid ref, solid manager. He was the SD GM for all of my childhood ab=nd he always brought energy to the program. To all the people who rated him low, "You're gonna go 1 on 1, with THE UNDERTAKAAAA""

But not only that, pretty much every role he ever had he did to nigh perfection. I genuinely think he's underrated in some aspects, and I don't think he could ever be duplicated."

[8.0] "I'm surprised Teddy Long is ranked this low, I thought most wrestling fans were in agreement that he was the best authority figure by far? Anyways, like I said there, I believe Teddy Long is the BEST authority figure, being the GM of Smackdown in his wrestling personality career. His charisma and segments were fun to watch and it would be nice to see Teddy still on WWE TV sometimes."

[10.0] "Another guy who wore a lot of hats in the business and put his all in to every one of them. It didn't matter if it was being the driver of Kevin Sullivan and Eddie Gilbert or setting up the ring for JCP/NWA back in the day or being a manager for the countless amount of talents that he managed, or doing his most popular role which was being the general manager of Smack Down for 9 years I think it was, you always got the best version of himself he could put forward. That's what I always liked about Teddy. As a performer he could banter with the best of them when he was the GM whether it was serious or comedic , he cut could one hell of a promo as a manager, and his work in the attitude era as a referee (especially the stuff with the hardcore title) always brings back many fond memories for me. And he's still going strong now in to his mid 70's. I saw him on a show not that long ago. I feel like he will contribute until he just physically can't anymore."

[7.0] "I haven't seen much of his 'E work, but that will change with time; as I am rewatching two eras and one of those will lead into GM Long soon enough. ANYWHO! Ol' Peanuthead reaches WAY back into my history as a fan. I remember him starting off by taking ring jackets. Next thing you know he was sometimes THE ONLY REFEREE ON AN ENTIRE CROCKETT SHOW; he had good, loud, consistent counts and enforced the rules very well! He then turned heel and robbed The Road Warriors of their tag titles! He then became the mouth piece for "The Skyscrapers" and later managed DOOM in their most notable (dominant) era. Here is where he "borrowed" perversely~liberally from "In Living Color". Time passed and he once again became a natural babyface, managing only losers in WCW (Craig Pittman? Jim Powers? Ouch! )....he later resurfaced in WWE as General Manager Long and y'all just love him in that role donchya? I look forward to witnessing it for the first time soon(ish) myself! Here's 7 points for a man who worked from the bottom all the way up to; Wow, dang: general manager of Smackdown!"

I think it's safe to say he was the best "general manager" type authority figure there was; he certainly had the most longevity. His memory lives on with jocular "tag team match playa" and "the uuuuuundertaka" proclamations getting a rise out of fans and non-fans alike. He deserves at least a 7 from the cagematch faithful."

"Teddy Long has the dubious honour of being the guy I comment on in here so that I'll be allowed to rate items. This dude was honestly a heel the entire time, still can't believe that he told MVP he'd fire him if he didn't fight Kane in an Inferno match. What a maniac."

To me, Long was never bad in anything he was involved with, but he was also pretty unremarkable. As a ref, or a manager, or a GM; he was always just kind of there. Never bugged me, but also never got me excited."

[8.0] "Teddy was always a very charismatic manager; a fun presence as a face and an effective heat magnet as a heel. His schtick as GM became somewhat repetitive as time went on ("tag team match, playa"), though that was probably more a result of lazy writing than anything, but managing was his forte, and his time managing Doom to the Tag Titles in WCW and effectively managing midcard heels in WWE like Rodney Mack and Mark Jindrak showed this strength."
