Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Prince Devitt

[7.0] "not better than dominion in my opinion but still a great match. Tana not giving up for his lumberjacks and finding the strength for a final high fly flow was cool. The styles clash was a cool pop for me also. KA apron powerbombs never get old and made tanas kickout more significant."

[7.0] "Not gonna lie, I hate that stipulation but somehow it worked pretty well with that match. Tanahashi and Devitt when they was able to really fight was nice as well, entertaining at least."

[7.0] "I actually loved the Tana/Devitt feud from 2013. They had a perfect heel/babyface match at Dominion, but this match was leaned into silliness due to the stipulation. There were a lot of tropes in this one (babyface diving into a crowd of heels, ref comically slapping the heel, the chair spot) but I I liked this more than I normally would because Tana is such an awesome babyface and can make this formula work. The nearfalls popped the crowd so job well done. ***1/2"

[7.0] "Some really cooking sequences from back in the day when the Bullet Club felt fresh and had real heat in Japan. Basically half a lumberjack, half a multiman match. The constant interference kept this from ever kicking truly into the high gear Devitt and Tana were capable of at this point."

[8.0] "Both have lumberjacks so the interference is evened out. There's good moments and the finishing stretch is exciting."

[6.0] "There was a lot of action and however their was too much of the Bullet Club stuff for my liking and the lumberjacks need to stay on the outside of the ring. With this being a BULLET CLUB type of stipulation however Tanahashi going over was the right one because it says he can beat Devitt at his own game. ***1/4"

[5.0] "I guess the stipulation probably should have tipped me off, but this is pretty much nothing but stupid Bullet Club shenanigans. The constant run-ins and interference are what I hate most about BC matches, so imagine how thrilled I was to see them take those annoying elements and stretch them out for an entire match. I'm assuming this match (and feud in general) were supposed to elevate Devitt, but he just comes across like a geek here. He gets slapped by the referee, carried around like a small child by Makabe, and can't put Tanahashi down despite hitting him with everything but the kitchen sink."

[5.0] "The match wasn't that bad and was generally OK, but the stipulations didn't allow for the kind of match these two are capable of. That said, this was still a huge improvement over their G1 match, which was one of the worst G1 matches in history."

[9.0] "Really wasn't expected a good match because of the stipulation and due to Bullet Club shenanigans but I was so wrong. The heels try to outsmart the babyfaces all the time but the babyfaces weren't dumb and in the end they prevail. The last 5-7 minutes were so great and the crowd was buying all the nearfalls. 4 1/4 Stars."

[9.0] "One of the most exciting (and best) lumberjack matches I've seen. At first I felt uneasy about this match and its stipulation but it turned out so freakin' good. These ring shenannigans are very rare in high profile matches in New Japan."
