[7.0] "Big Show Vs Sabu extreme rules was weak, and Orton Vs Hogan and Batista Vs Booker were both really bad, but both Chavo Vs Rey and DX Vs McMahons were both solid, Cena Vs Edge was really good, and Flair Vs Foley I Quit was fantastic. Overall WWE SummerSlam (2006) is a solid show for the most part."

[4.0] "Honestly, I find this to be a REALLY poor Summerslam. The main event is pretty much the only thing remotely worth watching, and even that isn't a 'must watch' performance. Foley/Flair put on a passable blood bath, but it still isn't anything stellar. Everything else is average at very best, and there are a couple of stinkers here and there too. It's not a downright abysmal show, and there are worse Summerslam events out there, but this has to be a bottom 10 Summerslam for me."

[6.0] "A decent show with the match of the night absolutely being the I Quit contest with Flair & Foley, but the Hogan/Orton & WHC matches being very underwhelming. The opener was solid and had a decent enough finish to save face for Mysterio, and the main event was good enough in my opinion to close out the show. Show/Sabu was good for what it was even if it was clunky at times and the DX/McMahons definitely had the crowd going and a solid finish considering the story. A pretty average night with it's ups and downs. Solid 3 stars."

[4.0] "Only two good matches, but at least one of them was the main event, as Cena's match once again had a great atmosphere because of the mixed reaction and it was the best contest of the night partly due to that. Also I liked Hogan vs Orton as it had the second biggest involvement from the crowd and Randy was once again phenomenal there bumping like a pro. The rest though... Chavo vs Rey was okay, but the fans were tired of using Eddie constantly in Mysterio's matches, Show vs Sabu was a typical ECW bollocks, Flair vs Foley was awful, where two old pricks tried to get hardcore with Ric's bleeding getting tiresome, Batista vs Booker had a horrendous finish and DX vs McMahons made me hate DX even more. Seriously, the star power was really lacking here and you could see how much they missed Angle, Benoit, Taker or JBL as a performer."

The World Title Match does the show no favors. So while not every match on this card is like that, it doesnt outweigh the bullshit you have to sit through to get to it."

[4.0] "Not a great event for me. Edge/Cena is a good main event, Edge and Cena have great chemistry together. DX and the McMahons is decent, nothing more. Batista/Booker is distinctly average, with a flat finish (although i understand they want to prolong the feud. ) Flair/Foley is brutal, but I just don't feel like the feud clicks (maybe it's too real) but I didn't enjoy it as much as other people. Hogan/Orton is a typical Hogan match and it's absolutely ridiculous Hogan wins. Show/Sabu is alright considering Show is badly out of shape at this point. Chavo/Rey is a solid wrestling match, I absolutely hate the story though. Not a terrible wrestling show, but you would expect better for Summerslam."

[4.0] "Not a huge fan of this PPV. Main event was my favorite match, I think Edge is fantastic. Hogan v Orton was notable because of the massive reaction that Hogan got. Match wasn't much, since Hogan was so beat up, but this along with the Cena v Edge match had the most heat of anything on the show. Flair v Foley was a bloodbath. Good performances by both men, especially Flair who was a madman. I wasn't a huge fan of the rest of the show. King Booker v Batista wasn't all that impressive, not a bad match by any means but not particularly memorable for a world title match. DX v the McMahons was ok, mostly run-ins and outside interference. I wasn't a fan of Chavo v Rey, the whole storyline kind of makes me uneasy. Big Show v Sabu was not good, missed a few spots at key times that kind of took me out of the action."

Rey Mysterio vs Chavo Guerrero was good, I usually don't like family involvement but this was important and created the perfect heel character (I'm not talking about Chavo). From Flair vs Foley onwards there are only good matches, only the conclusion of Batista vs King Booker is stupid in an acceptable match until that point. Edge vs John Cena is the best match of the event, with an intense Flair vs Foley. Recommended."

All the matches on the card were watchable and as a whole were pretty solid yet nothing sticks in your mind and thus makes you want to go back and watch the show again. Though when you do watch it you can still enjoy yourself for those 3 hours."
