"TK’s stubble looks a day or 2 old. Due to the monotony of All-Japan matches, and their brand of Amarillo 70s era wrestling, there’s not much script of which to distinguish and thereby discuss each match. If, at this time, I had been watching AJPW's weekly television show I would have most likely amassed a great deal of interest in seeing these two longtime buddies try to capture the belts from a larger and more powerful foreign tandem. But instead I’m watching bits & pieces of All Japan as encapsulated through a 14 disc Misawa/Kawada retrospective. Hence, my emotion is not piqued as a viewer who had been salivating about this match for days/weeks/months, depending on the fan’s foresight. After a long front facelock by SW on TK, MM gets a hot tag that’s very quickly extinguished when TG takes out MM’s knee on a German. That gets some boo’s and heat, and we’re back to a few minute more TK workover til another MM hot tag, of which his left knee stops his from being as effective as he otherwise would be. MM fights off the submission attempts while TK lays recovering on the outside from an in & out-of-ring beating. Finally, after a surge of energy, TK can’t take ‘this sh*t’ anymore, runs in and back cl’s TG who was applying a sharpshooter on MM. Tag and TK’s a house-of-fire. TK pbomb gets a 2 but SW stops another from being executed, and the gaijin are on-top again. OK stampede by SW gets a two. MM prevents another, tagged in, does a great job of instinctively shaking his left knee from its earlier workover, hits a diving elbow on SW but TG runs in and by going after the knee, slows down MM’s run. MM kicks out of a TG pbomb, SW , again in to ensure no face momentum, pslams MM, TK in to take-out SW & the constant gaijin interference, TG goes for a pbomb, MM rana’s through and his inner thighs are pinning TG for the 1, 2, 3. Keen incredulous TG expression. This was mostly a squash in that the gaijin stymie almost every comeback, until the one that mattered. 7. 5"
