[7.0] "Good show. Long, but that's what you got with IWA Mid-South. Over-stuffed, but again, that's what you got with IWA Mid-South. The tag title tournament featured some good work, with Smothers and Hamrick making the veteran run to the belts, or at least the on-paper claim to belts that did not yet physically exist, and local favorites Punk and Cabana worked into the final, too, keeping the crowd happy. The Samoa Joe vs Chris Hero match is a small room phenomenon; being there live I can tell you the atmosphere of it was like nothing else I've been part of at a wrestling show, from National Guard Armory shows to WrestleMania. An incredible spirit that overtook 90 percent of the crowd, as the anti-Hero fans of Highland wanted to see indie king and ROH champ Joe trounce the IWA stalwart, and the Hero fans got rolling with them. The wrestlers themselves seemed like they called an audible on what they'd planned and just started throwing bombs to take advantage of it. The atmosphere comes off well on tape all these years later, too."
