[8.0] "I really enjoyed this show. It's the most enjoyable Smackdown or indeed anything WWE in awhile for me. It's remembered most because of the debut of Carlito where he punks out John Cena in his hometown and then shockingly gets a cheap win on him in the main event to win the US Title. I quite enjoyed the execution of that and he's certainly a more interesting villain for the show than most of the other new guys being pushed at the moment. Elsewhere JBL vs Hardcore Holly is a very entertaining slugfest that set up a title match next week. Billy Kidman's ongoing storyline has honestly been one of the better things going on as this time he hits Miss Jackie with the BK bomb and almost hits her with the Shooting Star before thinking twice about it. He comes across more and more unstable since legitimately injuring Chavo and it's just really interesting to watch as you just don't see storylines that play on the mental side very often and done as effectively as this was and Chavo's video package for his return showing the Kidman move suggests a face turn for him. The only thing I thought was bad here was the terrible Heidenreich character."
[4.0] "Outside of Carlito's debut this was not a great show, as it continued the bad storylines that have been plaguing Smackdown the last few weeks, JBL had another competitive match with Hardcore Holly as champ, Heidenreich read another poem, and the main event, while putting over Carlito's character strong, showed how green both him and Cena still were. Better than Raw on Monday, but that isn't saying much."
[7.0] "I liked this show well enough watching it back. Match of the night is definitely JBL/Holly. Carlito's win was, if you will, cool. Some goofy stuff but nothing compared to the stuff they were doing on Raw."
[6.0] "I remember watching this show when I was younger and enjoyed it a lot. Carlito's debut was perfect. The Holly vs JBL match was good to watch. Heidenreich beating up fans was great to see and the main event was good too. The rest of the show was eh to adequate."
