[6.0] "A PPV that was incredible for the Smackdown talent and pretty bad for the Raw side. Raw's best match was the women's title match, and that isn't even close. The rest of the Raw side of the equation is average to middling, with the worst match on the card easily going to the World title match. Smackdown has a gem in Taker vs. Lesnar, a great Cruiserweight title match, and an overrated but still very good tag title match. This No Mercy is a bit of an inconsistent card, but the good easily outweighs a bad and makes this a show worth watching."

[8.0] "The tag team match and the main event were out of this world. Everything else was average to slightly above average. Benoit, Angle, Edge, amd Mysterio deserve a medal for that match. Honestly."

[7.0] "The second tag team encounter and the main event were good. The rest of the matches were very average."

[8.0] "Smackdown shines on the pretty damn good No Mercy PPV, delivering two match of the year contenders. The main event between Lesnar/Taker was a bloody and intense affair that gave Brock the match of his life up to this point and one of Taker's best too. Stealing the show though was four of the Smackdown Six as Angle & Benoit took on Edge & Rey in a fast-paced, gripping tag match. The bout was super inventive, full of wonderful spots, and had the crowd salivating for more. Rounding off the good Smackdown matches was a solid Cruiserweight bout between Noble/Tajiri. Raw couldn't compete with SD, but they delivered too. I actually enjoyed the Sports Entertainment slop that was Kane/HHH, Katie Vick and retiring the IC belt aside. The opening tag match was a fun curtain jerker and RVD/Flair was a fine showcase for Van Dam. Put aside the quite crap Wilson/Marie match and you get a damn strong B-Show."

[9.0] "A great amount of the matches were weak filler, but both the opening WWE World Tag Team Title match and WWE Cruiserweight Title match are really decent and both Lesnar Vs Undertaker HIAC and Angle and Benoit Vs Edge and Mysterio to crown the inaugural WWE Tag Team Champions are absolutely phenomenal. Overall WWE No Mercy (2002) is a real fantastic show mostly thanks to it's top two matches."

[6.0] "Underwhelming and overrated. Main event was good and the final tag match was great. I also enjoyed the tajiri/noble match. Everything else was either bad or really bad. And please miss me with the "psychology" of undertaker selling his broken arm. it isn't psychology to attack someone's broken bones. It's just basic shit. And he stops selling it pretty much right after lesnar rips the cast off, which seems like the exact opposite thing to do really. Lesnar/Taker was fine for what it was. They used the cell appropriately with gashing each other's heads and bodies against it and hanging from it for leverage. The last 5 mins of it were exciting but the previous 25 minutes had me falling asleep. Undertaker was bleeding a lot. Wow I guess I should give it an extra star for that? Whatever. The finals tag match was awesome although Edge seemed like the obvious weak link here. Angle and Benoit are elite and Rey is Rey. The two women's matches were garbage but at least they were short. no idea why "victoria" even exists and definitely does not deserve a title shot. Poor trish. I'm glad Kane didn't win against HHH but I'm not happy HHH won either. Kane still sucks as a wrestler and can't sell for shit. HHH still boring and is only as good as his competition. RVD vs Flair was boring as hell. I don't know what they're doing with Flair. At least he looks like he's in better shape lately, and he actually looked better during his interference with the HHH/Kane match than he did in his own match. Has flair even won a match yet since joining WWE? Seems like he's the biggest jobber in the company at this point. The opening tag match was also boring. This PPV created a 2nd tag belt which has got to be one of the dumbest fucking things ever done in WWE history. They did a great job by decommissioning the WCW tag belt but then they essentially re-created it. Whatever. I really don't think there are any must-watch matches on this card and I feel very let down after watching this."

[7.0] "An 8 seems about right me. Two legendary matches but Kane/Triple H was so horrendous and RVD/Flair was very disappointing too, which dragged it down for me a little. It is funny how much more enjoyable the Smackdown side of this show is compared to Raw."

[6.0] "A lot of meaningless filler with a kick ass Smackdown tag title match and a pretty good main event. Naturally it was the Smackdown roster that put on the good stuff tonight. Smackdown was definitely the better brand in the fall of 2002. I remember the IWC hating this match at the time it happened but it's definitely an underappreciated PPV in it's time."

[7.0] "Another very good PPV, have been loving WWE/F in 2002 so far. Two great matches, a couple of decent ones and no big stinkers really. The opener was fine with Booker proving once more that he's one of the most over guys in the company, Torrie vs Marie at least wasn't long, RVD vs Flair was a fine little bout where Ric one more time showed in what a fantastic shape he was for his age and Noble vs Tajiri kept the usual, solid level of the cruiserweights' contests. HHH vs Kane had exciting final minutes, but the match itself wasn't anything special, Benoit & Angle vs Edge & Mysterio was one of the better Tag Team Matches at that time with it being incredible especially on the physical level, while not forgetting about the psychology and Trish vs Victoria only happened to get people ready for the main event, which was fantastic. Like at Unforgiven I loved how human Taker felt and you could easily root for him, while Lesnar showed once more that he's a generational talent. Bloody, realistic fight with Taker's crimson mask being one of the highlights of the show."

[8.0] "8 is perhaps high for a show with only two particularly good matches, but they were so good - and in the case of the tag title match often ignored - that the rating is necessary. Still, just watch the tag title match and the Hell In A Cell match"

[8.0] "This is a bit of an unusual show, because it has two of WWE's all time classics, and then a bunch of stuff that is varying levels of mediocre. I enjoyed the opener and the cruiserweight title match, but they aren't exactly 'must see' even if they are both good matches. Everything else peaks at 'watchable' (with the two women's matches and Flair-RVD getting closer to 'bad' territory, but they are ultimately all pretty inoffensive so I wouldn't go quite that far). However, the WWE Tag Team Title and WWE Heavyweight Title matches are so tremendous that they elevate the event considerably. You could certainly do a lot worse than watching the show in its entirety - I wasn't really ever bored in my rewatch of the show - but there are really only two matches here that need to be seen (and even then, in 2023 both are probably going to be a bit more of an acquired taste for many newer fans)."

[6.0] "A mixed bag if there ever was one but a fun Cruiserweight title bout and two of the best WWE matches of this era (Angle/Benoit vs Rey/Edge, Brock vs Taker) carry it to a positive score. It is hard to get over how boring the Raw stuff on this show is though, clearly this is around the peak of Heyman's SmackDown blowing Reign of Terror Raw out the water. The opener, RVD/Flair, and Trish/Victoria are all nothing to write home about. HHH/Kane and the Katie Vick angle are outright terrible. SD are here to carry with the three aforementioned matches plus Torrie/Dawn wasn't terrible either."

[9.0] "Fantastic event with two outstanding matches in particular that makes it sand out as the best B-show PPV from 2002. Words cannot describe how wonderful the Smackdown Tag Team Championship match is with Angle, Benoit, Edge and Rey Mysterio all at their very best. The Hell in a Cell match with Lesnar and the Undertaker is a total bloodbath and is one of the most violent in history. Elsewhere on the card Jamie Noble and Tajiri have a very enjoyable Cruiserweight match, the Raw tag team title match is memorable because of the middle rope breaking. Ric Flair has a good performance against RVD in an okay match and Trish and Victoria lay the foundations for something better. Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie isn't good and also has a hilariously bad storyline and the worst match on the card is the awful Triple H v Kane match. Had it not been for that match and the horrific storyline attached to it, this PPV would probably be a 10."

[8.0] "There are two of the WWE? s best matches ever here I feel Angle/Benoit vs Edge/Rey is the 2nd best pure tag match in WWE/F history only behind two man power trip vs Jericho/Benoit, and Brock/Taker was just a big blood bath that absolutely delivered the hell in a cell formula. There's some solid stuff on the undercard, the cruiserweight title match was actually good. Felt like this was missing a couple more good to great matches for this show to be a 9, still a good show though for sure."

[6.0] "Details in the matches but to sum it up: I gave the opener a 7. The first ladies match is not rate-able on here so I will conveniently omit it into the overall. RVD vs Flair received a 6.25 (the rushed feeling to the ending hurt it). Noble vs Tajiri was a winner with a solid 9. HHH vs Kane was not something I would revisit with a 1. I do not watch nor rank anything Benoit related so it will also be omitted from the overall. Stratus vs Victoria was ok(6.25), a good start to this feud but things would get better. Brock vs Undertaker, while not my kind of match (and I am not much of a fan of either) was still awarded a 7, for my strong desire to rewatch at least once right away. The final tally is rounded down to a 6; the good is totally watchable, the bad is an easy skip. Mild recommendations overall."

[5.0] "A show filled with mediocre matches and only a single truly good match. Jericho & Christian vs Booker & Goldust was alright. Nothing too complex, just following the standard formula of the cheap and cowardly heels against the energetic and endearing faces. Very nice improv work after the middle rope broke. **3/4. Torrie vs Dawn was very amateurish, and it had that embarrassing spot with the ref getting all feely. Thankfully too short to properly rate. NR. RVD vs Flair was pretty mediocre. RVD had his impressive acrobatics and martial-arts-inspired kicks. Flair had all his signature chops, bumps, cheap shots, and various mannerisms, which was charming but not especially exciting because of how it just resembled every Flair match ever. **1/2. Noble vs Tajiri was really good, with the only issue being how short it was. Tajiri's strikes and acrobatics were all very impressive, and Noble had some decently impactful attacks and general aggression to make him a competent heel partner. Their exchanges ended up being quite creative and with strong chemistry, and their near falls quite convincing. ***. Triple H vs Kane was fine but boring. It had some alright brawling and energetic bumping. Their chemistry was occasionally a bit sloppy, but the main issue was that their work was mostly just pretty basic, plus of course the overbooking of the second half with all the interferences and cheap shots. **1/4. Benoit & Angle vs Edge & Mysterio was really good and easily MOTN, though it's been surprisingly overrated and hailed as one of the best tag matches ever. Benoit and Angle impressed with their bully-like aggression, massive suplexes, and technical skills. Mysterio was great as the sympathetic babyface who could bump and sell big time before hitting a number of spectacular high-flying spots to regain control. Edge was Edge -- competent but forgettable. The pace in the second half was quite fun, while the first half was less exciting but still solid. Some overkill stuff in the finishing stretch, but it was still quite exciting. ***1/2. Trish vs Victoria was a typical WWE "Divas" match: amateurish, sloppy, reckless, and just boring, and it was paired with awful Lawler commentary. Total filler to reset fans from the excitement of the Tag Titles match to prepare them for the Heavyweight Title match. *3/4. Lesnar vs Taker was yet another disappointing WWE/F 00s main-event, filled with the usual sorts of generic messy-brawling, low-effort weapon/prop attacks, and an overeliance on heaps of blood to try sell the match as an "epic war". I liked a few things like Lesnar's selling and his initially brutal targeting of Taker's kayfabe broken hand, but then he removed Taker's cast and neither of them ever referenced the hand again, despite all the focus the hand and cast received on TV. They just kept their brawling and then some uninspired wrestling exchanges before Lesnar got the F5. Heyman was awful on the outside as well. **1/2"

[8.0] "Quite an excellent show here. I thought the undercard was a little underwhelming if anything. The opening tag and the CW Title was fun, but the rest felt extremely flat, especially with the awful HHH/Kane snoozefest. Be that as it may however, there's a pair of Match of the Year candidates in one single show, so I can't really go anywhere below an eight. Recommended just for those two alone."

[6.0] "Satisfactory PPV. The undercard was watchable and the WWE Tag Team Title Tournament Final Match was really good. The Main Event was brutal, great match and made me remember how great Hell in a Cell was before WWE kill the magic of the match when they start doing Hell in a Cell PPVs in 2009."

A perfect midcard match 5) ***1/4+ Sometimes overbooking helps a match, here it helped. 6) ****3/4 Until Takeover Toronto this was without a doubt the best tag match in WWE history 7) **3/4 The botched final ruined a decent match 8) ****1/4 2 months earlier Brock won the title but wasn't 100% a main eventer: after this match he became a star. When the 3 main events deliver, the show is a success. If whc/IC match and main event lived up the expectations, nobody could ever predict the tag match was that good, not even the 4 involved probably."

Apart from a decent opener and a solid cruiserweight match, there's not much on the undercard side of things and the women's matches are a bit naff. But holy shit, THOSE 2 MATCHES!
