[2.0] "Rollins Vs Miz is a really fantastic match, but everything else on this show is just bland. Styles Vs Nakamura had another let down in their WWE series and had a worse finish with a double low blow, Bryan had one of, if not his worst singles match ever against Cass, Jeff Vs Orton and K.O. and Zayn Vs Braun and Bobby are pure weak and far below what their capable of, both women's world title matches sucked with Carmella Vs Flair being a dud and Bliss and Jax having a worst rematch from WrestleMania 34 (2018) and Reigns vs Joe was just an absolute snooze of a main event that made the fans literally walked out. Overall WWE Backlash (2018) is such a really bad and boring show."

[1.0] ""Beat the traffic! (clap clap clap-clap-clap) Beat the traffic! (clap clap clap-clap-clap)" is the infamous impression that this PPV left on everyone's minds, and it's not hard to see why. Just one good match, and like many PPVs of the time, it was Seth Rollins busting his ass off in the curtain-jerker. If I was in Newark that night, I would be looking for my money back, it was that bad."

[1.0] "This was absolutely brutal to watch live. Rollins Miz was exciting and fun, what a great match. ****1/4, one of the best opening matches you could have for a shit show. Nia's matches are the worst, they are so fucking sloppy in the ring together. Maybe it's because of outside beef, makes for bad viewing. Everything else is bland and forgettable. Joe and Roman didn't stand a chance against that crowd, at a better show this would've been fantastic."

[3.0] "Well, Rollins vs Miz in the opener was fantastic stuff - if I had to nitpick, there was one, maybe two too many finisher kickouts from Rollins for my taste - but overall a fast-paced, exciting match that further solidified Rollins as one of Raw's MVP performers while in defeat representing a possible career-best performance from Miz. Hardy vs Orton was also a nice match that was refreshingly old-school in its simplicity - no finisher kickouts or extended near-fall sequences, and a relatively-rare clean loss for Orton. Styles vs Nakamura was probably their best WWE match to date, until being marred by a very lame finish (they've actually mananged to make a feud between *AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura* seem like something of a chore at this point). Poor booking marred a lot of the rest - Joe vs Reigns wasn't very exciting (I get Joe using extended restholds to try to get himself booed and Reigns cheered, but at this point it's just not happening); Nia's ring style isn't very suited to working as a face, and the crowd isn't buying the ham-fisted anti-bullying story; Strowman/Lashley vs Owens/Zayn came off as filler with the writers forgetting who the faces and heels were (faces doing an unprovoked post-match beatdown? ); Cass wasn't exactly the best choice of opponent for DBry's PPV singles return bout. Not an especially auspicious start for the new co-branded PPV era, and at the end of the day another PPV this soon after both Mania and the GRR isn't necessary to begin with."

[2.0] "What the heck was this event all about, this was a god awful PPV and to be honest I never rate a show so low like I am right now.. it was really that bad goddamn. The show started with a great match between Rollins and The Miz, by far the MOTN and my favorite main roster match from this year. Rollins hitting the knee in the post and from there, The Miz targetting the knee everytime he could was really awesome to watch and Rollins is one of the best guys in the world right now. This was such an awesome match that I feel bad that this was put in an awful show like this is really unfair - ****1/2. Nia Jax x Bliss should've been a squash match, both looked really bad and the post match segment was awkward - DUD. Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton... what can I say, this was boring and I used to like to see them in the ring but this wasn't good - **. Daniel Bryan vs Cass was ok, glad Bryan won and nothing made me mad - **3/4. Charlotte vs Carmella was shitty as hell, so basically Charlotte broke Asuka's undefeated streak at Wm for this shit? ! I am completely disappointed for this shitty booking, someone like Charlotte shouldn't have lost the title in the first place but this was just awful.... Carmella can't work a good match and idk what the heck they are planning to do with that moon walking cow. - Minus 5 AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura was possibly the greatest disappointment ever, I was enjoying this but how in the fucking hell can both guys lose in a 10 count in a no DQ match? ! This made no sense at all, could've ended waaaay better and also it could have ended in a great match but for the god awful ending I will give this maybe ***. The tag match was horrendous, just making two talented wrestlers like KO and Zayn looking like jabronis, this was just terrible - DUD. The main event had pretty good spots but for the booking and the stupid rest holds it turned out to be an awful main event - *."

I don't like that Roman won because it seems that WWE is being really wishy-washy with Reigns. This is inconsistent booking in my opinion."

Roman Reigns vs Samoa Joe is a huge fail, the rest is far from perfect but adequate. I don't consider it so bad as many say it is, but it's skippable."

Watch the opening match then pretend its the main event at shut the show off. IC Title: ****1/2; Raw Womens: *3/4; United States: **; Bryan VS. [1.0] "I don't understand why people are defending this show. This would have been a good house show and an average RAW but this is a PPV... with the abundance of great wrestling coming out from all over the planet in the past few years there is no reason that anyone should feel like sitting through something like this is worth their time. Maybe I'm just some smarky hipster indy guy or whatever 55 year olds say when shows are boring but then every person in the Prudential Center must be idiots too because a show that started with one of the hottest crowds I've seen in a while ended up being full of jeers or even worse silence (at times). There was one good match and then 7 average at best matches following it. I don't know why average is acceptable to consume from the largest company that is charging us 10 dollars a month to see shit like this. There is nothing wrong with demanding something a level above for shows that are billed as being that. Also: side note if the pay off match for the Styles/Nakamura feud isn't a bona fide classic then I will be sincerely upset. We have already sat through 3 matches that could be best described as disappointments so they can milk this thing as long as possible. Now, I genuinely understand and wholeheartedly agree that this is a good idea on paper. However, in practice it just isn't working. The feud is losing all its heat and people are starting to not care about a program involving two of the top performers on the planet. It either needs a spark fast or an instant classic to end it and make it so it was all worth the wait. I'm worried that this will not be the case."

[8.0] "I'm not sure if the other voters never watched this or just like the flippy stunt show stuff that has nothing to do with wrestling. This was one of the better PPVs I've seen in a long time. With exception of the opener and Charlottes match it was well paced and built along the lines of the older events. Rollins/Miz shouldn't have opened, it would have been better served leading into Nakamura/Styles. Miz was excellent, sold everything and was obviously the worker of the match. Seth was kind of disappointing. While he mostly played up the leg injury, he didn't really put Miz over and looked like he was going to fall asleep during the figure four spot. I give it a 4 for being in the wrong spot on the card and being a drawn out spot fest with the numerous annoying finisher kick-outs that belong on an indy show not a major promotion's event. Nia/Alexa should have opened. Good match, it was almost like pro wrestling. They both sold well and put each other over. Even had a good finish, though I could have done without the badly done anti bullying message. A solid 7. Orton/Hardy was great. Surprising for a Jeff Hardy match. Good story, good pacing, great selling, they put each other over and it wasn't a spot fest. Easily an 8. Bryan/Cass was more like an OVW trainee match than a PPV match. That being it was good, if flawed. I give it a 6. Carmela/Charlotte was awful. No selling, poor pacing and sloppy and the clean finish was idiotic. It was like a David Flair match. A 3 is being generous. AJ/Nakamura was a clinic on how to do a NoDQ match. Hard hitting and violent without doing a bunch of stupid stuff with randomly placed garbage. They made each other look unstoppable and the ending was the only one that made sense for building this feud. An easy 9. The lone tag match, don't get me started on that, did what it was supposed to. It advanced the KO/Sami drama, put Braun and Lashley on the card and brought the excitement level down for the main Event. Roman/Joe was excellent."

I enjoyed Orton and Hardy cause it felt like a big thing to me, remembering their royal rumble 2008 match, all too sudden ending tho. Bryan and cass was average, but it was interesting for me to see what kind of a character big cass is going to be. I liked nakamura and styles at the greatest royal rumble more, but they still had a decent match, with aj even bleeding, THE ENDING WAS GOOD in my opinion, cause that was just a creative way to continue the feud between the two even more. Roman and Joe had a great match! Which was ruined by idiotic fans, who could not even respect samoa joes work cause of their obsession with roman."

[1.0] "What a garbage show ! I didn't expect much but this still managed to go below my expectation. Opener was the only thing that was worth watching here and the most heated match of the night. Bliss/Jax was boring as always. So was jeff/orton. Orton continued to be super dull and uninteresting and the most overrated wrestler nowadays. Cass/Bryan was okay, passable thanks to bryan's magnificent carrying job. SD women match was awful with too much carmella working on top. She wrestled like wwe old school diva more than a nxt product. I don't blame charlotte because she worked hard here. AJ/Naka was pretty bad and dull worse than their first 2. Ending was dogshit. Tag match was there but again with terrible ending. Crowd didn't even react to braun's big move. ME was boring with endless rest holds and crowd didn't give a shit about reigns- no surprise. Worst show of the year easily and this was hard to top."

Overall Backlash '18 was a very mixed bag w/ 3 very good matches, 1 pretty good one, 4 very forgettable ones."

Strowman is being wasted, so are KO and Sami, Lashley should not be a babyface and certainly not a babyface in peril, Reigns vs Joe - *, Who thought doing so many rest holds was a good idea in a match which should not even be a main event? [5.0] "Miz vs Seth was a great opener. It stated out as a standard match where Rollins had control due to his skill, but once he kneed that post the match kicked into gear hard. The sequences put together here were really cool, and the pacing really nailed it despite going over 20; a great match (****). Nia vs Bliss went too long and gave Bliss a bit too much, but it was fine (**1/2). Hardy vs Orton was just so bland, not even anything bad happened so there was no reason to react to anything (**). The Elias segment was honestly really good, giving a bunch of the midcard something to do. Bryan managed to sell great for Cass and work everything smart in their short time; this showed that Bryan can get a good match with anybody, eve the visibly lost at times Cass; loved the elbows needle the Yes Lock (***1/4 to ***1/2). I don't even know what that SD Women's match was but it had some heat (*3/4). Styles vs Nakamura started out pretty standard for them in WWE, and it really didn't pick up until the chair came into play, although from the chair to the knee spot that got AJ bleeding until the finish it was pretty great, and then the finish ruined it; the end was so bad I thought for sure Paige would restart the match until they actually moved on (***1/4). Big dudes vs Owens and Zayn was actually fun and featured some story progression combined with just BRAUN being awesome (***). The main event (Why was it? ) started hot, but then it slowed to a crawl and never recovered. Joe should not be working matches like this, Roman should not be working matches like this, crowds don't want too see matches like this at 11:15PM, there was nothing that worked after the bell rang other than Joe's dive and the various clutch attempts. Both guys are better than this, MUCH better (**1/2). A show that opened strong but fell apart hard with few moments of entertainment breaking up the bullshit."
