[3.0] "I miss Sin. At least there were fewer botches and the booking was okay before the ending. This wasn't sad, this was painful"

[4.0] "WCW's penultimate PPV event, Superbrawl Revenge at least slightly improved on what the previous month's Sin had to offer. Once again, the Cruiserweight division played a large part in that, with strong matches in Chavo vs. Mysterio and the opening six-way. DDP also had a great against-all-odds performance in his double-semi-main against Kanyon and then Jarrett. Lance Storm did what he could in getting a passable match out of Ernest Miller. The Steiner vs. Nash main event was certainly not nearly as bad as the Sin three-way - and everybody emerged with their limbs intact - but suffered from overbooking. Of course, as with Goldberg at Sin, it would also be Nash's swan song in the company as there wouldn't be enough time left for him to be written back in. Most everything else falls into the "adequate" category, as there was nothing remarkable, but nothing nearly as bad as Sin's lowlights (like that Penalty Box match)."

[4.0] "There's a common view that WCW wasn't bad, or was getting better, towards the end, but it's not really true. The only worthwhile matches were the cruiserweight ones, and there were several awful matches as well. The overarching story of Ric Flair running wild as the "boss" of WCW didn't really work, especially in retrospect when all the real behind the scenes nonsense of the previous few years is known."

[1.0] "I watched Nitro religiously at this time, and yet I don't remember the build-up to any of these matches. And I also didn't know there was even a Superbrawl this year, as WCW seemed to like renaming many of their PPVs at this time. Regardless... I didn't like this PPV at all. While there weren't any gimmick matches (except for the main event maybe) the booking was just horrendous, especially during the #1 Contenders Tag, Semi-main & Main. I guess MOTN would be Rey Vs Chavo, but this not their finest encounter and was downright scary at times. Everything else on the show was fine to mostly fine, but absolutely nothing spectacular. This was just a sad feeling show and with The Magnificent Seven taking everyone out, it leaves little in the way to be excited for. The Main Event was so overbooked that it was annoying. Also... I swear this crowd noise is fake as the noise is constant and yet I don't see the crowd making any noise or jumping up & down. It definitely feels like the end of WCW."

[5.0] "On par with other post-Russo WCW major shows, a few legitimately good matches, a few stinkers, and several matches that make you go eh. The opener is the best match of the night, a little sloppy at times but those six guys worked hard and put on a pretty great show. Wall/Morrus is eh, but at least they tried. All NBT match is not the worst but overall dull, feels like 4 clones fighting each other and one (Stasiak) is defective. Rey/Chavo was a close MOTN runner up, an excellent cruiserweight bout that they would improve on further in later years. Dustin/Rick, well Dustin tries really, really hard, but Rick Steiner is a whole lot of nothing by this time, so it's not really good. Kronik/Totally Buff is actually decent with a non-terrible swerve, at least by the standards of the era. Storm/Miller is not good, Cat is charismatic but almost all his matches are lame. DDP/Kanyon is the 3rd best match of the night easily, they have good chemistry. If not for Jarrett's run in, could have been even better. DDP/Jarrett is an ok follow up, Jarrett is not great in this role but DDP is very good at firing up for a comeback. The main event is pure overbooked crap that Ferrara probably wrote as a tribute to Russo, so that stinks. Overall not a bad event, pick out 3-4 of the better matches to watch and you'll be fine."
