[9.0] "Week 7 of the Cruiserweight Classic get a 9 from me. Swann vs. Dorado was the high flying match of the night, giving us some really nice top rope moves and dives. Sabre Jr. vs. Gulak was match of the night. To put it in the most simple terms possible, it was a technical masterpiece. Another sleeper match I don't see people talk about often. Gargano vs. Perkins was a solid main event, playing off Gargano's injured knee from the previous week's Takeover event. TJP looked great and his win over Gargano gives him some great momentum in the quarter finals."

[9.0] "Swann/Lince is an excellent opener, both guys are certainly impressive. Gulak/Sabre was fantastic, in my opinion the best match of the 2nd round, would love to see it appear on the matchguide. Perkins/Gargano was pretty great overall, didn't blow me away but still a very high quality match."

[8.0] "While this installment of the CWC might not have had the single blowaway match that some previous episodes featured, it was a solid hour of wrestling with matches showcasing different styles (high-flying with Swann-Dorado, shoot-style grappling with Sabre-Gulak, new-school cruiserweight style with Perkins-Gargano), and while I wouldn't have minded Gargano advancing, Perkins getting the upset was a nice touch to keep some of the tournament a bit unpredictable."

[7.0] "What a strange yet reassuring show in that all three singles bouts had a completely different feel yet due to advantages/disadvantages to each, none of them were drastically stronger or weaker than the others. There's no doubt the charisma and vibrancy of Rich Swann, so that even though his match attempted seemingly all styles of pro wrestling competition, including an ill-advised, surface-deep All Japan style fight two-thirds the way through, his ability to leave a lively impression in my head and finish off his opponent with a spectacular move, the Phoenix, makes him a viable contender for whom WWE will consider a stand-out performer of the tourney. That is unlike the scrape that was ZSJ/Gulak that I happened to very much enjoy. It felt not just like a random tournament contest, but a match between two throwbacks that stood for something greater: the touted one benefitting from sponsors and the favors of a nation quite proud of their recent contributions to pro wrestling versus a ubiquitous yet unappreciated non-fan fave who is equally dry but with a less captivating presence yet with an increasingly impressive physicality to his work. This would not be Vinny Mac's cup of tea, but I thought this the best match of the night. I have to believe that the sharp, fast-paced, all-around indie contest of Gargano/Perkins was shot prior to NXT Takeover Bklyn but by employing story continuity it allowed G to save face although this was his second tap-out in-a-row on WWE TV."

[5.0] "Swann vs. Dorado was a fun opener, both guys looked impressive, especially Swann - good match (***), I loved ZSJ/Gulak, such an intense technical warfare between the 2 (***1/2), the main event felt like an PWG undercard moves showcase match, wasn't the biggest fan of it (*3/4). 1 good match, 1 very good match & 1 bad match. An OK show."

[10.0] "This was probably the best 1h show I have watched this year. All 3 matches were great, and yet all were so different. Dorado/Swann was great (*** 3/4) and so was Gargano/TJP (*** 3/4), but for me Gulak/ZSJ was the match of the night (****). I give Gulak and his style a lot of crap, but he showed great intensity in this match, and Zack was phenomenal. Overall this was the best episode of CWC yet. This has quickly become my favorite weekly tv show in pro-wrestling."
