[4.0] "I thought this card was just okay. This rating represents my average rating for each match, and I couldn't round it up because it just didn't seem like it was worth it. There wasn't really anything special or memorable here. Since there are two matches I can't rate, I'll share my notes and ratings on them. Erik Watts vs. Mustafa Saied: Quick squash match, but at least Mustafa Saied didn't just lie down and get pinned, so there was a little resistance. Seeing Erik Watts do the STF was pretty cool! That's about all there is to this match, though. 3/10 Flyin' Brian & Steve Austin vs. Larry Santo & Rikki Nelson: I enjoyed this match. It wasn't necessarily anything special, but it went fast and had some decent moves. Pretty average, and there isn't anything wrong with that. 5/10 Truly, just an okay card with some decent matches and a few stinkers. My favorite match was Barry Windham vs. Johnny B. Badd. An alright card, but forgettable. Hopefully it'll improve! 4/10"

[5.0] "A fine episode to kick off 1993. The increased emphasis on competitive matches that we saw towards the end of 1992 continues here with the US Title #1 Contenders Tournament. Those matches are nothing special (Atlas vs. Hammer is outright bad), but they make for fine TV wrestling and are a more interesting use of time than all of the squash matches that we used to get. This episode also marks the debut of the Hollywood Blondes (without their team name) after Windham pairs them up with one another so he can focus on singles gold. The highlight of the show for me was the Cactus interview where he threatened Erik Watts with a great line about how at the Watts family dinner they'll be one extra vegetable at the table, "and its name will be Erik Watts". Classic. The amount of storylines on the show has also improved recently, which makes episodes a lot easier to sit through as everything feels at least a little bit more purposeful. Overall it's nothing special, but it's a fine episode of Saturday Night."

[6.0] "The style of WCW at this time is quite the contract to WWE with their introduction of Raw and its awkward phase of finding its identity. I quite enjoyed this. Just straightforward wrestling stories told through interviews, promos and in-ring action. Good stuff."

[6.0] "Nothing special about this episode, and Erik Watts is not near the level to be treated this heavily on the show, but the matches werent bad and I rather enjoyed the main event as a traditional Steamboat match. A decent show all things considered, even with tech issues"

[3.0] "A pretty average show for the most part. Some good promos and no one match really sticks out by the end of it."
