[8.0] "It's a very enjoyable show. Started off with a pretty good opener, an interesting mid-show and a great Main Event. It was easy to watch and in one breath."

[7.0] "While there is a significant dip in quality for the middle of the show, this was still a really good way to open 2003 and a solid debut for ROH in Pittsburgh. The final three matches are all great, with Joe vs. Bryan being my pick for MOTN and a bit of a hidden gem considering how little discussion I've ever heard it receive. The card was varied in terms of wrestling styles on display, and had enough storyline progression to feel eventful. ROH's roster is really starting to take shape, as the additions of CM Punk, Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, Homicide in the singles division, and even Collyer and Stryker represent a noticeable improvement from many of ROH's early events in 2002. While I haven't seen this show ever receive a lot of coverage, I think it's a mild sleeper hit and recommend that ROH fans at least check out the final three matches even if the rest of the card doesn't interest you."

[8.0] "I think this show was a great way to start 2003. The opener between Collyer and Stryker was a technical match in which Collyer excelled. Then Punk vs Shane was a fun basic babuface vs heel match. The following matches weren't good, but neither horrible. First, the lucha libre six man tag with Konnan, who likes that kind of matches would like this one, I enjoyed a lot Quiet Storm's action. The weapons match was another encounter between those teams, not the best one. Special K had a nice showcase on a squash spotfest. After those matches, the show improved a lot with the Four Corner Survival match, with great action and an insane finish. Then the first ROH match between Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe, where Joe dominated Bryan and showed his stiffnes and great action. And the main event, the end of Low Ki's feud with The Prophecy, not the best match, but a good way to end the night with a great spot by AJ and CD."

[6.0] "I don't normally love 4 man survival matches but the one on this show is a really enjoyable one. The finishing sprint is also great, and it just elevates everyone. The tag scramble was a mess, opener forgettable, weapons match felt fun but also feels like someone could have told the booker that you can have a wild, violent, bloody, out-of-control brawl without weapons. Instead, every Carnage Crew match is a gimmick match & it's wearing thin. Six Man Tag was not good. I don't like Divine Storm, the commentary really reached a low during this match (Konnan as one of the creators of lucha? Shut up Gabe, just because you don't like lucha doesn't excuse ignoring 70 years of EMLL), just not for me. Punk vs Shane was fun. Dragon vs Joe was one-sided, but told a good, simple story, Danielson trying to wear down the leg of the bigger man, Joe just powering through. Really built Joe up as an unstoppable force. Main event was what it was. Some good moments. Probably the 3rd best match on the card after Joe vs Dragon & the Four Corner Survival. Worth a watch."

[7.0] "First event of 2003 and it has two brilliant matches and other three good ones. Let's start with the main event, AJ Styles & Low Ki vs The Prophecy. Unbelievable action, even more at the end. The Four Corner Survival was at high levels. Joe vs Danielson is one sided, it's fun to see Joe getting the full advantage after few minutes. CM Punk vs Michael Shane and Collyer vs Strykes are two good matches, Punk was not yet a solid character and the heel was Shane, trying for the whole match to imitate Shawn Michaels. The other multi-men tag team matches were terrible, some lucha in the Six Men Tag but too long and not perfectly executed. Special K really irritates me, but at least the match was short. The two best matches put this show at 7 points from me, what a start for 2003!"
