[7.0] "Potentially one of the top 5 English wrestlers of all time, alongside William Regal, British Bulldog, Will Osprey, and Zack Sabre Jr. You have to respect his ability to turn anything into gold, just look at his Bad News Barrett gimmick - Something that had no business being as over as it was. He was also a convincing and believable leader of The Nexus back in 2010. He truly should've been the first English wrestler to win a world championship in WWE. His commentary career is a little more middle of the road but he's still fairly solid and a reliable and recognisable voice to have on commentary. Especially when paired in a 2 man booth alongside Michael Cole."

[8.0] "Consensus here is that WWE dropped the ball on buddy i agree, i was so confused at how Cena solo squaded this dude Justin Gabriel and their geeks i knew better than vince and i was only 11....i literally EVERY WEEK went "huh how tf is cena whooping these dudes 1v3 1v5 1v7 wtf" then he got over AGAIN and got held down AGAIN smfh"

[8.0] "The best commentator right now, he's quick, is actually a competent wrestler, has a great accent, looks good, doesn't take shit from no wrestler because he's still a mountain of a man. Sucks that the Nexus didn't work out cause he was great, and by the way he's one of the greatest heels I've seen in my lifetime."

[7.0] "Wade Barrett had all the tools to be a main event player -- great size, charisma, mic skills, and a believable tough-guy aura. His work as the leader of The Nexus was one of WWE's hottest angles in years, and he carried himself like a real star during that run. Unfortunately, inconsistent booking and injuries kept him from ever reaching his full potential. In-ring, he was solid -- not flashy, but effective -- and his "Bad News Barrett" gimmick showed how entertaining he could be. These days, he's found his groove as a commentator, bringing a mix of dry British humor and insight that adds a lot to SmackDown. A career that could've been so much more, but still one to respect."

[8.0] "I miss Wade compiting, he's still 44 and can try one more run, but I guess he found more comfortable place for himself like Corey Graves. He was good when he wrestled and pretty underated, I think he should've been in the big matches and pull something big for himself"

[7.0] "Wade Barrett brought a commanding presence and sharp mic skills to WWE, especially during his run as the leader of The Nexus. While not the most agile in-ring performer, his power-based style and natural charisma made him a believable threat. Injuries and inconsistent booking held him back from reaching his full potential, but he left a lasting impression."

[7.0] "When it comes to cases of WWE dropping the ball on wrestlers, THIS guy is one of the several key examples of fumbling by a promotion, especially when their momentum is red hot. Wade Barrett was always a good in-ring worker and compared to a lot of other wrestlers he was around during the 2010s, he could work well and have good character and charisma to aid onto his career. The Nexus stuff was great and he was the "de-facto" best in the group, which if you look at who he was surrounded by, you'll begin to know why. Of course, Super Cena comes to the "rescue" to make Wade Barrett tap out in what was a humiliating blow to the group and especially Wade and it didn't have to be that way. Everybody knows the Nexus should have won and even Cena himself has admitted it.. Moving on from that and going to his singles career, at least he does have a good amount of accolades that are enough to potentially warrant a future hall of fame induction, even his Bad News character was really fun and it got over to the point where there could have been a face turn for Wade, but Vince put it down and told him that he would "forever be a heel". He was then fed to Roman Reigns in the League Of Nations which ended up being a good group but again, was a feeding ground for Roman Reigns. He hasn't wrestled since then and I do hope he eventually gets back into the ring even though it will probably be a part-time basis for him. In short, Wade is a really good credible character and wrestler who had been underutilized too much, what a pity."

[7.0] "Someone who had potential to be a huge star in WWE but they refused to pull the trigger. He got massively over twice once with the Nexus and once with the Bad News Barrett character, but WWE then decided to cool him off both times. Shame also Lucha Underground brought him in during the final episode instead of letting him do more on screen. He is currently a good commentator with Joe Tessatore. He had all the pieces (Solid in ring abilities especially as a brawler, character work, mic skills, etc.), but WWE refused to make him a star."

[6.0] "WWE really failed this guy. He could've and should've been one of their top heels who main evented PPVs in the early-mid 2010s era. I don't think he had the ability to be a babyface, but man could he be a great heel. Was very easy to dislike and had a decent amount of charisma. In-ring wise I don't think he was anything crazy or memorable, but he was better than most around that time and could've grown into a better wrestler. Bad News Barrett was fun, but at the same time, it was a shame to see him go from a top heel to a comedic one."

[7.0] "Whilst not a game-changer, Wade Barret is a great all-round talent in the industry. Whether on commentary in the ring or on the mic, you know you'll always be entertained."

[8.0] "A man who should've been a world champion... Wade Barret was decent in the ring, pretty good on the mic, and had ACTUAL CREDENTIALS as a fighter. In a time when wrestling in WWE was heavily reliant on the same guys, Barret stood out immediately as a guy who could win the big one and make it look believable. I guess the fact that he could've legitimately beat up a substantial part of the roster wasn't enough for bookers..."

"Think Wade was had a great package. Solid in the ring, pretty good on the mic and a good look. Could probably have been something bigger than what he turned out to be and could have seen with a world title at some point."

[7.0] "I like Wade Barrett, he's a good wrestler with a top notch mic skill. His character works has always been great and I think the guy never really reached his full potential."

[6.0] "A strange one as he had a fair few career highlights but there was also a question of wondering where he could have ended if he had got a push when he had his moments of organic increasing popularity. A guy whose final landing spot probably should have been upper mid card with the occasional spell in the main title picture. Bloody crap on commentary though."

[7.0] "Haven't really paid attention to wrestling in these last 15 years or so, but the little bit I have watched, Wade Barrett is a very solid and credible IC/US title contender. Not sure if he makes the marks for world champion material but I like him more than about 80% of the guys around today."

[7.0] "There's a load of Barrett I love, unfortunately there's another side to him that just doesn't work out. I want to like everything he does but sometimes it's a hard miss and it goes with pretty much every aspect of his career. I'm mostly on board and will always *want* to like him. I would love to say it's 100% the booking but to be frank: no matter where he goes, if it's "not working" its painfully obvious. 6.75"

[8.0] "I think he is a great fighter with a lot of great moments in his career like leading the Nexus and winning the King of the Ring and I think he is a good commentator, the only thing I don't like is that he never had a decent final match."

[7.0] "I don't think he was at any point a World Title material, he was instead a great midcarder. Had a really good run in Nexus, and i really like him as Bad News Barret, his "Bad News" segments were fun. He had a pretty cool finisher. Now he is a "heel comentator" and his voice is cool and nice to the ear. I really wish to see him back in the ring, either in NXT or in the Main Roster. I think he has at least one more good IC run in him."

[8.0] "Did the best with whatever WWE gave him. Liked him in Nexus and as Bad News Barrett. Unfortunate that he could never get a world title run."

[8.0] "As the leader of a stable there is no other who could do better, he is a wrestler born to be a heel and like Bad News Barrett made very good promos. His entrance themes have always been incredibly good and as a commentator he doesn't do too bad either."

[8.0] "Barrett was really a great wrestler, I don't know how he didn't get a world title, he was a perfect heel and with a pretty decent character, for his Wrestling style he is one of the best, but he still lacked a bit more technique plus the lack of moves. showy, in addition to the failure of Nexus that removed it from the titular scene."

[8.0] "Wasn't really high on him until he grew a beard, at which point he became one of my must-watch heels in an otherwise mediocre time for WWE. Fun and physical moveset that had a lot of unorthodox moves such as a tornado suplex and that nasty kick to the ribs as a counter to a corner hop. Great on the mic but the company never really gave him a proper consistent run which sucked."

[7.0] "I was always very behind Barrett. Probably more than anyone else in the "WWE isn't using this guy properly" circle at that time (Rhodes, Ziggler, Cesaro, etc). The Bullhammer was a pretty sick finish and I liked his style a lot. My favorite match of his is probably him against Cena in the U. S. Open Challenge. He's a great promo too. I hope he returns one day."

[10.0] "the best example of a buried talent. bad news Barrett and King Barrett were both awesome gimmicks. he is an incredible promo guy and really good and fluent in the ring."

[7.0] "About as high as I can really go with Barrett, considering he never got a chance to be a proper belt holder outside of bouncing it with Miz in Pre Show stinkers. That being said Barrett has a lot of upsides: he's tall (extremely tall in fact, you don't really appreciate it until up close) he's good with a mic and knows how to get a crowd hooked into what he is saying, he can sell decently well, and he has some good looking impact moves to go off of with a finish that can come from nowhere. The guy just didn't have a good gimmick to get people invested beyond "dick heel" and the novelty of such a gimmick has worn off by now to the point where he's undermined by it. For a guy as big as he was, having him try to cheat wins and be sneaky made zero sense considering he towered over guys like Orton. King Barrett was dead on arrival (as all King of the Ring gimmicks were beyond King of Harts and even then, that wasn't the main attraction) and Bad News did admittedly get over with the snarky audience but did really nothing for him in the late game. Ultimately he wasn't going to be the guy in the main event (despite some claiming as such) but he could have been a solid upper mid card guy who could be pushed up if needed. Barrett is teasing a return but at his age and with four years of rust behind him, I'm not sure he'll be able to live up to the hype he's already been getting from fans."

[8.0] "Had the misfortune of coming along in the middle of the Super Cena run, so he was essentially fed to Cena. Had all the tools to be a world champion, but it just never happened. Nexus was amazing to start, but injuries, firings, & the aforementioned Cena-syndrome kept it from ever reaching its full potential."

[6.0] "I always found him so bland and boring, with look and mic skills (not so much tho)being his only talent, never understood the reason behind his push. But Bad News Barrett was just amazingly ridiculous and I loved it, everybody did. So of course the company wanted him to stop delivering bad news and his career died. Lol."

[6.0] "In hindsight I'm kinda glad he didn't win the big one, better UK talent as come along COUGH PETE DUNNE COUGH who can do that one COUGH Tyler Bate. But Barrett was alright, a multi time IC champ and leader of the Nexus, he's gonna be a talking point in wrestling history at the least and his Bad News Barrett gimmick was funny and really connected."

[6.0] "Really feel sad for him. Quite solid to pretty good in the ring. Really good on mic. Play heel role very well. His bad new barrett was really fun in my opinion. Sadly, wwe fucked him up by bad booking. In addition, multi injuries didn't help him much. Another talent that wwe wasted. Not surprised."

[8.0] "Had a great cocky English heel gimmick. I loved the Bad News one and hoped he could enter some great rivalries because he had great mic skills. His wrestling skills were, average/solid, but i still hoped that he would win at least 1 world title because dammit, he desrved it. Best of luck to Stu in the indies."

[8.0] "Stu Bennett is a good brawler and good talker, wwe had so many chances to make him a main eventer, but instead choose to bury him, and every time Bennet bounced back until one day he decided to quit."

[6.0] "Bennett, unlike their counterparts in the form of Del Rio and Sheamus was appreciated. He was not worthy of the main event of WrestleMania - he had not received. He was not worthy of the title - he did not get it. This is what I like in it. And nothing outstanding. In the ring weak rudiments of charisma is, the microphone is good. Principle no great loss."

[6.0] "Let's start off with the elephant in the room -- Wade Barrett's booking was deplorable from the moment John Cena buried the Nexus, and his career has never been the same since. He's actually quite a good worker; a solid "tough-guy" wrestler with the kind of sneering charisma that many would-be villains lack. He's got a nice, hard-hitting moveset; he's got the ability to sell; he's got the kind of physique that McMahon loves if you're into that sort of thing. That said, I didn't find most of his matches terribly compelling. Maybe if given the chance he would have risen to the occasion with better booking. But he didn't do all that much with the matches he had. Overall, I found them to be slow bouts full of taunting and snarling, punctuated by a few bursts of admittedly good-looking violence. Barrett was always a bit formulaic, despite his many talents. He's still a loss to WWE, though; at the very least he had potential as a midcard villain."

[8.0] "Such a wasted talent. Its disgusting how WWE buried him. He just like many other heels in WWE has been buried due to dumb booking."

[3.0] "Wade Barrett was once someone who I thought would end up being a World Champion, at least one or 2 times. He is/was charismatic & solid on the mic. Sadly because of injuries & bad booking, he never reached his full potential (IMO), and because of that, I really lost interest on him over time."

[5.0] "He's a decent worker and a pretty good heel. Nothing about him impresses me, though. Just really not my thing. Mediocre as a performer, to me."

[9.0] "He is such a great.. also underrated, because he is very good in ring (His finisher was dreadful but I think ok) also he was one of the best talker in WWE, his every gimmick lived to expectation, as part of Nexus leader he done a great work showcassing his talent and having many good matches in 2010, then after his barett barage gimmick, Bad News Barett, King barett all gimmick which barett have done was beyond good, but only thing that stops to be in top he is Injury Pron and also how he booked because he been already WWE champion back in 2010 or 2011 when he was top of his game.. Surely Underrated."

[5.0] "I honestly don't see the hype behind this guy. Yea he can be a decent heel but not good enough on my book. From as far as I can remember barrett never been a babyface in his wwe career, correct me if i'm wrong. Been nearly 6 years and this guy is still in the midcard well low midcard. You tend to forget that he's a 5 time IC champion and yet he has nothing to offer or prove. We keep forgetting his resumés over and over and over again. In the mic he's boring, his finisher sucks, this whole king stuff is very gimmicky-ish from wwe because oh he's from england and british have a royal family. This needs to stop they need to give barrett something else he feels comfortable with but so far it seems to me that barrett just goes along with whatever they tell him. His matches are boring to watch, he did every british gimmick they could throw at him. from bare knuckle fighter to a king, in everything barrett has done he deserves credit for actually doing it, but he's a hopeless case that will never make it to the main event by this stage i consider him boring and without a promising future."

[5.0] "I liked him a bit at the begining but he has gone downhill ever since. Decent in the mic, nothing special in the ring and his gimmick and personality just doesn't click on me. He's an english dude with a mix of traits that lead to nothing, just waiting for some of them to work and get the crowd to like it. His gimmick changes haven't helped (there was a Bad News Brown already and King Barrett failed big time). I admit that there was a time that Wade Barrett was well built to become a main eventer (2010-2011) but now... I'm kind of glad he didn't."

[10.0] "Wade Barrett is the best wrestler besides Antonio Cesaro. He has all the tools to success, Size, Solid in-ring skills, great mic-skills and could be a major draw in european shows. sad that injuries have held him down lets hope he stays healthy and would get a push"

[9.0] "He has the skills and he can talk on the mic. The only problem with Bad News Barrett is that he can be injury prone. I think due to his injuries, WWE having been pushing him that far, not wanting to invest in a gamble. If he can stay healthy, then I hope somewhere down the line we'll see WWE's first English-born WWE World champion."

[9.0] "He's got a gimmick that got him over, serious wrestling ability, and charisma beyond belief. He's got it all. I think he will be getting a WWE Title shot sometime soon, and I can't wait for that day."

[8.0] "Excellent on the mic, and very good in the ring. It's a shame that he can't seem to stay healthy for long periods of time, because he would be a world champion if he could."

[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers i have ever seen in the ring and on the mic. Got a great character, amazing in ring ability and is superb on the mic. Should be a world champ if he wasnt so injury prone which is his only downfall."

[7.0] "A bit overrated as far as popularity goes, his bad news gimmick to me struck as a bit corny and the cheapest type of heel heat any guy would get, as with most heels what do you get after a while? The appreciation of the fans, i feel that wade barrett's best shot at sucess would've come from ss 2010 if it wasnt for the cena ceiling that he has unfortunently struck, bnb got the popularity by his side but i feel that he could've used better material for his bnb character, either way i would prefer wade barrett over bnb just because of the dumb gimmick idea. Wrestling wise he's decent but im not the biggest fan of his bullhammer finisher. 7/10"

[6.0] "I thought this guy was solid at first but have soon realized that he is not all that he appears. Wade Barrett is good worker and talker but his matches are very redundtant to an extent. The biggest problem for Barrett is that he is injury prone. He is out again because of injury. Everytime he is in linne for a push he gets injured. It is unfortunate if not ironic considering his Bad News character."

[9.0] "A really good wrestler and talker. There's people better than him, but not many. Was really enjoying his IC title reign, but then he got injured. Unfortunately, that means Triple H will probably bury him since he got injured ONCE. I can't wait to see him return. One of my favorites."

[8.0] "I think Bad News Barrett is a good wrestler. This gimmick works really well it's always interesting to see what he will comment on in his next promo. He is always good in ring. Hopefully WWE will put him in a good feud with defending the Intercontinental Championship."

[9.0] "Wade Barrett is a powder-keg of brilliance that the WWE continues to fail to truly ignite. I hope the Bad News Barrett will change that, because I know that Barrett will provide one hell of an explosion."
