Because no one has ever exposed the business quite like this bum and his phoney baloney offense- especially his stomps. He makes a modern comedy wrestling match look like the Rumble in the Jungle Boxing Match. He apparently received rudimentary training in pro wrestling. And wrestled with some talented and interesting characters. Those are the pros."

Unfortunately, outside of that particular pairing; Tony Garea was one of the poster children for "New York pre expansion" and that is to say: lacking. However, I would much rather watch him than Rene Goulet or Pedro Morales, which I mostly attribute to the Rick Martel connection. Positives where he could work a fast paced match (for the territory), was giving and knew when to bow out. Did I tell you I like Rick Martel? Watch his career instead. 4.75 rounded up."

[6.0] "Great tag team specialist, but boring on the mic. If you only caught him in the mid 80's you are missing his better matches from the late 70's."

[9.0] "An easy 10 as a tag team wrestler, Garea was athletic, strong and technical. He flourished with any style of partner. He was never main event material as a singles wrestler, however which drops his overall record. Still today, arguably the best tag wrestler the WWE has ever employed. This gives him an extra point in the rank. If and when, he's no longer in that conversation, he can drop one level."
