His WWE run had flashes of brilliance, especially in the tag division and with the U.S. title, though inconsistent booking held him back. Outside WWE, he's shown a deeper connection to his lucha roots and more creative freedom. His talent is undeniable, and his style leaves a lasting impression"

It worked at first down in NXT because it was exciting and fresh, but after some months of being called up to the main roster and being split up from Sin Cara he kinda was just there. He works well as a tag guy. but that's about it."

Non-existent ability on the mic, his mask is neat but that's not even half of what makes a wrestler good. People thought he would be the next Rey Mysterio, but there will never be another one. Same thing for Dragon Lee right now, great wrestler but will never be Rey Mysterio. Kalisto never stood a chance."

[7.0] "I'll give him credit for his high flying and insane spots, but when you break it down, that's really all he has. There's zero charisma or mic skill there to really show (and when WWE tried to get him on the mic, well, it didn't end very good for either side) and he has nothing really unique that stands out: guys like Mysterio had great physical charisma and a strong babyface fire, as well as a unique moveset at the time. Kalisto brings nothing new to the table, and having him face off against guys who can't get close to his fast pace hurts him badly."

[8.0] "Ever since Rey stopped being a full timer, WWE has tried a number of times to find his successor. Kalisto may be the closest they've gotten, but he still fell short. That said, I do like Kalisto quite a bit. Sure he's botched a time or two, but how can you blame him when he's doing such amazing lucha things. On that point, you have to knock him down a point or two for his poor mic skills & his iconic "lucha things" promo. With Fenix now having a huge spotlight, Kalisto is taking a backseat in the eyes of most of the hardcore fans. The Lucha House Party team is also never going to work. But for one reason or another, I'm still rooting to see something made of Kalisto."

AsterDavis wrote on 25.01.2019:
[2.0] "Kalisto is amazing in the ring but he seems to be so inconsistent. By far the most boring wrestler on the roster and seems to be way too sensitive to any criticisms of him. Don't get me wrong though, he truly is one of the best high flyers I've ever seen and he shines when in tag teams and I don't expect him to have charisma but he isn't even mildly interesting as a character."

WWE should rely on him more, he could be very valuable for the promotion as an English speaking luchador. The kids love him."
Dragon Fighter wrote on 27.11.2017:
[6.0] "Pretty good high flyer. He can do some amazing shits in the ring. I do agree that. However, he is god awful on the mic. Just so cringe-worthy. I don't see much potential for him to reach next level. He may stuck onto 205 live for a long time."

[7.0] "Kalisto is constantly moving, he's been that way since the indies and NXT. Kalisto is a pure luchador who uses acrobatics, good technical work and the enivorment around him to create instant offense. The WWE clearly would like to fill the Mexican draw void left by Rey Mysterio years ago, an Kalisto in time could fulfill that void. Kalisto's got a great look and a great mask but unlike Rey in his "rookie year", Kalisto goes a little too fast. Kalisto can blow a few spots and it tends to put damper on his matches, especially if he's a big vs. small match. He belongs in the Cruiswerweight Division where he can mix with guys who 0-100 just as he does, and he doesn't have to slow down to accommodate plodders. Another thing that has to be improved is his mic work, an infamously botch promo ("lucha things") has stuck in fans' minds. Kalisto's athleticism, in-ring skill and look will eventually rise to the top but he and the company can further along process by finding a voice, being crisper and being booked in the right situations."
arrancar wrote on 07.12.2016:
[6.0] "A very impressive high-flyer but occasionally has a few awkward moments in move execution or even some full on botches because of how frequently he tries to pull off challenging moves. And while his moves (when they connect properly) excel in terms of acrobatics they do suffer in terms of impact, so they can look pretty but also appear rather tame because Kalisto does not always deliver his moves to actually look damaging to his opponent. Kalisto also suffers from a gimmick which is basically just “happy lucha guy who gets beaten up by bigger guys all the time”. It’s hard to cheer on a guy that loses and gets beaten up so often and still comes out with a big smile and a rather stupid dance. That “Lucha Lucha” dance Kalisto does is also one of the signs of how Kalisto tries a little too hard to appeal to the fans and ends up pushing them (including myself) away; it feels like he wants to be liked by the fans far too strongly, making him a bit unlikeable as a result. The way he appeals to the crowd after any remotely impressive move he pulls of is another example of that sort of obnoxious desire for attention. It makes it feel like all he cares about is crowd appreciation rather than winning matches. While lacking in personality, badly booked, and a bit rough around the edges with his offence, he is still generally a very competent luchador who can occasionally pull off some very exciting spots and sequences."

AMHTP wrote on 21.06.2016:
[7.0] "I think judging Kalisto by his work on the main roster is impossible. He's shown so much more in NXT and on the independent scene -- and only there has he demonstrated what makes him so special. First of all, the guy is crazy fast -- capable of transitioning between high-flying moves and mat grappling with impeccable timing and precision. He's a tremendous acrobat, too, and he messes up significantly less than most luchadores with such daring. I do think that poor booking has sapped his inspiration a bit; I think he's gotten a bit lazy and the "big man" opponents he faces don't do him any favors. But just watch -- if he ever gets a decent feud against someone like Neville, Kalisto is going to show why he's a truly valuable talent, and a legitimate potential star."

If he can break away from the constant "Big vs Small" type booking, his matches would be even better. However, he's still a shining part of the WWE roster and a highlight on any show he's a part of."

With Mysterio on his way out, this guy looks like a worthy torch-pass."

A the new Rey Mysterio - it seems like Kalisto may have the tools to become Rey's sucessor. He has the gimmick (not that hard to get) and very exciting high-flying and fast in-ring skills. I wish the fans got more behind him but I still believe that he can be sucessfull in the main roster."
