Critics argue he lacks the chaos and risk-taking of past eras, making WWE feel like a polished product rather than a thrilling, unpredictable show, and point to specific misses like the predictable WrestleMania main events and lackluster storylines."

There was literally nothing worse than those 20 minute opening promos that he was doing in the early and mid 2000s. Not to mention all the painfully long and boring matches he'd have if his opponent wasn't someone he respected. Like he'd always go all out against guys like Batista but then half-asses against the Rob Van Dams and Booker Ts of the world. He just seems insufferable in general."

[10.0] "My #7 WWE GOAT. HHH is extremely underrated. In fact, it's criminal that he is rated below a 9 ... like WTF? I guess people might be rating him as a promoter now, but as a wrestler, he was one of the best. A fixture of the Attitude Era, he might've lagged behind bigger stars like the Rock, Stone Cold, or HBK, but he was ALWAYS a top level talent, and his in-ring work is incredibly underrated. His runs as champion are some of the most memorable in the history of WWE, and even as he got a bit older (2000s era), he managed to maintain his status as a top tier wrestler while also elevating countless talents (Orton, Batista, Benoit lol). In fact, in terms of his ability to maintain his position while also helping to establish new stars, I literally can't think of anyone else that was able to do that in the way HHH did. One of the best, without a doubt."

We all have our own personal criteria for rating someone and whether or not they're an all timer. Wrestlers who spent their entire career in only WWE could never be an all time pro wrestling great. They can be an all time WWE superstar but they're the Walmart of wrestling. You can get good things from Walmart but you wouldn't go there for the highest quality. Triple H probably has an equal of amount of good/great and shitty matches and promos. I thought of going with a 5 but the latter part of his career was horrible and his booking on the main roster has nosedived. It also doesn't help that he's bending the knee for Trump and acting surprised when people think he's a dipshit for doing it."

He gained so much success in his career through first, being with Chyna and Shawn and later cheated on Chyna to be with the boss' daughter, that sealed his fate as the Reign of Terror started. Triple H was just a theme song and a nickname, he had a great physique with the help of *ahem* steroids, which contributed to him almost dying a few years ago. Triple H was always overshadowed by real stars like Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold or The Rock. That's why he's jealous of all of 'em. Hell, he's even jealous of Randy Orton, someone he could never be even if he wanted it. I would've given him a minus 500 for his terrible booking and handling of the WWE today, but giving a 5 for only his career."

Wrestler carried by gimmick matches and stipulations as well as other amazing wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and Bryan Danielson. The main reason for such a low rating is his incredibly poor booking of great professional talent as he has constantly made bizarre booking decisions. Not a good wrestler, not a good booker."

I find him to be completely overrated despite his good points. Definitely overpushed, a bit of a one-note promo, and always struck me as the guy who works with top guys rather than being the top guy himself. Gets some extra points as a booker for NXT and his initial run as WWE booker, but has fallen off since wrestlemania 40. I don't think he's someone deserving of the number of 10 votes he's gotten on this site. B- in ring, B+ look/gimmick, C for promos."

Probably the most important heel of all time, being the first to shock everybody retaining the title at Wrestlemania. If we talk about him as a talent, he is a 10000/10 without a doubt. Unfortunately, I have to give him a 5 score because he is simply killing and destroying his legacy by being the worst, most boring and awful booker WWE could have in this moment. He has at his disposal one of the greatest and most talented roster in history and he is unable to give us nothing but predictable and flat storylines. You can tell the winner and the outcome of every match this guy books in great detail beforehand. WWE I BEG YOU: keep HHH's legacy clean, let us remind him as the awesome talent he was and keep him away from the booking"

His event matches however were legendary and when he was at his best he was spectacular."

The reality of it is that there is no question that HHH was unnecessarily booked as a top guy for three or four years, but it is also true that it happened at a time the three biggest stars in wrestling history left the company, so realistically he was a good choice to fill that role. If we're comparing Trips to Jeff Jarrett, Double J's reign of terror is far worse. In his prime he was a great worker and technician, and he adapted once he dealt with injuries. His work as the top heel was fantastic. I would have given him a 6 or 7, but in his current role he seems to be doing a good job of giving the fans what they've been clamoring for, and not doing the Vince thing of pushing whatever he feels like. When its all said and done, he will be remembered as one of the most impactful and influential figures in wrestling history"

[5.0] "The 8+ average ratings for Trips go back far enough that the sentiment clearly predates any current conflation of his in-ring career with his sentimentalized reception as a booker, and the thought that consensus for his actual wrestling can be that high is mind-boggling. He had a decent workrate in his early era, perhaps because as a mid-carder he was not allowed to go over 10 minutes save for special occasions, but it takes a truly deranged narcissist to have to adjust oneself to the impact of a quad tear and instead of adapting to the possible strengths of slowing down, instead put yourself in positions to pretend you can have epic mat-classic wars. Look at how brilliantly Steve Austin and Akira Hokuto adjusted themselves to an entirely different work style and character approach after major injuries sidelined their early dreams of being technicians, then compare them to HHH, who tried to do WWE's version of King's Road after he'd lost 70% of his speed. Almost every major main event featuring him is a slog, his politicking makes even his jobs feel hollow and a detriment to the other guy, and even his mic skills are overhyped. When he leaned into meathead plunder with Foley or was willing to actually share spotlight with a more talented friend like Shawn, he could put together some great work. But it's largely impressive that this guy managed to get NXT and then the main rosters in decent shape storywise after being such a drain on the product for years."

I hated him so much as a kid and was actively invested in seeing him lose, the frustrating thing was he so rarely did and the slower pace in later years always had me losing interest as matches wore on. The dude really needed someone to tell him to stop wanking himself off and cut 10-15 minutes out of the majority of his matches. As a booker I've been up and down with him, NXT was often oddly booked but got over on the strength of it's talent, also I cant ever really forgive NXT uk for decimating the britwres scene the way it did. All in all, mildly positive"

[9.0] "Arrived at this rating considering both his career as a wrestler and a booker. Nepotism allegations be damned, he was a dependable main event talent for WWE for nearly two decades, and has been a part of some of the best matches in the promotion's history. Triple H was dependably over, and in big moments he could back that up in the squared circle. If there's one criticism to his wrestling career I'd level, probably due to the creative control he gained while his main event career was ongoing, it's that he sometimes put himself over at the expense of more deserving or logical talents on the roster throughout the 2010s, and this arguably was as much of a contributing factor as any to the promotion's creative ice age by the late 2010s. His career as head booker at WWE is still rather young but it's been promising to say the least. You can tell that the morale of the roster has dramatically improved and that's translated to more invested performances both in and outside the ring. The Triple H age had a hot start for the first couple of years, but it feels currently like the product is a bit more hit or miss. I think some of that is Trips still growing into building out his own storylines and getting adjusted to what role he's going to have as head booker when it comes to weekly programming. It feels like the product quality is at an inflection point and could either improve or decay rapidly, but it's a better situation than what he came into, and that earns kudos."

His prime was when he was the blue blood of Connecticut, as his matches were precise and he couldn't get past the producers. Sure, HHH has some good matches under his wings... but does that justify his reign of terror? That his main events at WrestleMania were exhausting to watch? That he simply couldn't carry a match for more than 25 minutes? That he killed the aura of Goldberg, Booker T and Sting with nothing? For those of us who grew up in the 90s and aren't moved by his newfound fame as the founder of NXT... Trips will always be a mediocre wrestler that his friends wanted to elevate. Still, his match against Alex Wright at Starrcade 94 is a hidden gem."

He nurtured NXT into what it is now, and the company has absolutely taken off since he took over... But man, there are also a lot of really bad, unforgivable things about Triple H. The burials, the weird ego issues, the long promos and matches to keep the spotlight on himself longer. I certainly have to rate him above average, and if we were just looking at the good he'd be in GOAT territory, but the bad really drags it down in my opinion. And I'd just like to leave this point here, I'm not of the opinion that Triple H marrying into the McMahon family got him anywhere he wasn't already going to get without marrying Stephanie. He was always a student of the game, and he was always a hard worker who was destined for a backstage role in the future. Triple H taking over NXT was more or less inevitable in my opinion."

HHH's work with late 2020s WWE has shown a remarkable improvement of the product, but there are still many lingering issues that make the product still bland but filling. Peak NXT booking, the Mick Foley feud, the Benoit triple threat, the Taker feud, three stages of hell with Austin, helping make a star out of Batista. The lows are low. Blackface on live TV, a reign of terror that murdered thousands of fans' desire to watch WWE, the racial remarks made towards Booker T before their all time indefensible match at WrestleMania, Katie Vick, the horrors of the DX nostalgia tour, making Goldberg look like a fool, taking Dean Ambrose's spot in 2016, having one of the biggest egos in the world and morphing main roster WWE as a partial shrine to him. He has a complicated legacy, one that could get even more complicated in the near future, and while I like watching him in-ring more than I don't, it feels impossible to give him anything higher than a 6 considering how much baggage he carries, and how many of his booking tendencies I dislike on the main roster."

Whether he was feuding with The Rock, Mick Foley, Stone Cold Steve Austin, or The Undertaker, he delivered some of the most memorable matches and moments in WWE history. Triple H's in-ring storytelling is second to none. He's a master at pacing, psychology, and making every move mean something. His rivalries with Mick Foley in 2000 and The Undertaker at WrestleMania 27 and 28 showcased his ability to tell deep, emotional stories that left fans on the edge of their seats. As a character, Triple H was as hated as they come during his reign of terror as "The Cerebral Assassin, " yet fans couldn't deny his greatness. Beyond his in-ring career, his contributions to the business make him even more iconic. NXT became the gold standard for wrestling under his leadership, producing some of the greatest talents of the modern era. [8.0] "The problem with the internet is that nuance is not allowed. For a triple-A video game, an 8.9 is basically a 0.1. And one of the biggest beneficiaries of this attitude in the wrestling business has to be Triple H. Because you compare to his forebears, both in the ring and in corporate, and you start to confuse "pretty good" with "flawless and perfect". For example, the Attitude Era was much better than the New Generation Era that preceded it, and Triple H deserves credit as one of the key players, but then you look at the Reign of Terror, and even though he could still put on a decent match, he really started to get on your nerves because he wasn't as good as he thought he was, and you found yourself enjoying the Smackdown Six a lot more. And so it goes with the booking. His glory days were slowly getting his writing reps in NXT, where a competent philosophy was much better than Vince's capriciousness on the main roster, and even whilst the main roster was floundering on its arse, the Black and Gold brand was legitimately challenging NJPW in its prime for sheer quality of in-ring work. But with more sunlight on him as a booker, once again, it's clear once again that we've confused competence opposite to incompetence with pure mastery. That's not to say he isn't good, because he is, but either as a wrestler or a writer, "best in the business"? He's not even the best in the WWE."

[8.0] "Triple H's wrestling career has integrated almost all realism; he has almost no stanceonly interests (or rather, interests constitute his stance). In Marxist terms, Triple H is undoubtedly a reactionary of the big bourgeoisie (he indeed plays this role, including in storylines with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, and Roman Reigns). However, Triple H is also an extremely one-sided Machiavellian, concerned only with "big men" and not with the people (mainly referring to the controversial group established in 2013: The Authority). He is a multifaceted figure who is both honorable and powerful (a one-sided Machiavellian, the king of kings) and self-interested and narcissistic (an absolute opportunist, the Cerebral Assassin? ). He is eager to overthrow any order that does not belong to him. To me, from the beginning, he has been a noble of the upper class. Then he met Stephanie McMahon and sought to attract young forces through Evolution to consolidate his position in the company (but ultimately ended with Triple H's desires). It was during this time that Triple H began a notorious reign of terror, where he nearly destroyed all wrestlers, reducing their popularity and strength, and even ruining some wrestlers' dreams. Every wrestler (those in higher positions, and then those remnants from WCW) could quickly fall to the lowest point due to Triple H's power, with every wrestler living in fear. If someone compares Roman's reign to Triple H's "reign of terror, " it is undoubtedly a misunderstanding; if you can challenge Roman's status, you are on the rise. Another noteworthy period is The Authority's BOSS era. It started out quite well, with Daniel Bryan garnering much applause. Here, we can undoubtedly discover Triple H's credo: to cultivate young talent to solidify his rule, with Seth Rollins being a perfect example. It can be said that the extreme rule of The Authority is another form of "reign of terror, " manifested on stage as a form of performed la politique, but in reality, this group actually became a stepping stone for many people, including but not limited to Cody Rhodes, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, and the future Seth Rollins. However, during the reign of terror in 2002, this kind of terror was no longer la politique, but rather a codified replica, with WWE operating in a self-righteously "normal" state, but in reality, the underlying le politique was already in chaos. This was mainly due to Triple H's mad challenge to the transcendence of power behind the scenes, even merging with this transcendental concept, and without a doubt, Triple H was the absolute tyrant here, and the absolute despot. Therefore, there is no doubt that two Triple Hs emerged, but not one good Triple H and another bad Triple H, but rather a one-sided Triple H (of The Authority) and a true Triple H (Nero's, Ivan the Terrible's)."

While some critics unfairly single him out for "burying" talent, the reality is that he put over more superstars than many of his co workers. Legends like Batista, Orton, Bryan, Sheamus, Rollins, Reigns, etc. owe much of their success to Triple H's willingness to elevate others. His contemporaries - Taker, Cena, Stone Cold, The Rock - rarely put over younger talent in the same way, often protecting their own legacies. It becomes very hard to appreciate the good work he's done, when there's so many bland and uninteresting performances. I love a lot of Triple H matches, but I think he's mostly diminishing returns. His 2002-2003 run alone is up there for some of the worst years, by any wrestler, not just a guy who's viewed as a all time great. Maybe he held on to the World Heavyweight Championship a smidge too long and should have put one or two more guys over once Evolution had run its course. But watching HHH work with many great wrestlers in the time periods before and after Evolution and working unselfishly to push storylines forward makes him worthy of consideration on any Mount Rushmore list. He never shied away from taking big bumps from Mick Foley or The Undertaker. His rivalries with The Rock and Shawn Michaels were always entertaining, fair and balanced. Even he and Austin put good work in front of the crowd in unselfish ways."

"Triple H was never on the level of The Rock or Stone Cold or Hulk Hogan at their prime years of popularity but he's booked like Stone Cold in terms of being in main events and having long championship reigns and being in the main event storylines and having special entrances, having amazing entrance music and beating everyone on the roster, winning more matches then he loses, having a big main-event segment celebrating his big PPV win with pyro, confetti and balloons, having the longest matches on PPV and on episode of RAW and SMACKDOWN and him being in multiple matches on a episode of RAW or SMACKDOWN or PPV getting loads of TV time; getting promo video package on how awesome of a wrestler he is and making him a bigger superstar then he actually was etc because he put himself in a very powerful position in his career by marrying Stephanie and having strong influence in his storylines and character, his promo segment and match time lengths and his entrance music themes, changing original storylines to benefit him and his character. And yes, of course when you are married to the boss's daughter and have a position in the creative process of your character and your storylines in production meetings. On top of being a very skilful politician you can literally book your self as a ''Wrestling god.'' One of the main reason why I love Triple H and why he is my favourite wrestler I have mad respect for him. Because if I was a wrestler I would have done the exact same thing. From March 1992 to March 2023, Triple H had a full time wrestling career. Here are list of things I wish HHH could have done before his retirement. For this list I am using a All perfect world sensoria. I am also saying for this list that I would add all of this in his career on top of literary everything he has ever done in his wrestling career and combine it all in one career. I wish Triple H won the WCW United States championship belt and became a 4X WCW United States champion. HHH could have feuded with wrestlers such as Alex Wright, Larry Zbyszko , Road Dogg, Brian Knobbs and Brian Pillman. I also wish he won the WWE United States championship and became a 5X WWE United state champion. And win the WWE Hardcore championship, and becoming a 6X Hardcore champion. I would also have him win at least two Money in the Bank matches in his career, 2010 and 2012. I also wished HHH and William Regal won the WCW Tag team championships and became a 3X WCW tag team champion. They could have feuded with The Steiner brothers, Harlem Heat. All of these additional championship reigns on top of all his other championships reigns he has in his career before retiring. Then In WWE he could have debuted in January 1995 on the first WWE Superstar episode and the first RAW episode in January 1995. He could have feuded with Chris Candido from the 1995 Royal Rumble to wrestlemaina 11. I also wish Triple H was able to have the triple threat match main-event at Survivor Series 1999. (HHH vs Stone Cold vs The Rock for the WWE Championship.) I would have HHH win that match. I also wished theses matches took place in HHH's in ring career, Triple H vs The Rock vs Goldberg for the WWE championship at a WWE PPV. With HHH winning. Triple H vs JBL Texas strap match for the WWE championship at a WWE PPV. With HHH winning. Triple H vs Rey Mysterio vs Rhyno vs Eddie Guerrero vs Edge at a WWE PPV. With HHH winning. I would have booked a triple threat match at Survivor Series 1997, HHH vs Undertaker vs The Patriot. With HHH winning. Triple H vs Perry Saturn vs Bob Holly. With HHH winning. At the Royal Rumble in 1998 I would have had HHH defend and retain his WWE European championship in a match against Al Snow. I also wished Triple H won the 2006 Royal Rumble match and being a 3X Royal Rumble winner. (2002, 2006 and 2016.) and also winning the Road to wrestlemaina 22 tournament. I would have Triple H feud with Simon Dean and Bobby Lashley in a two on one handicap match at Unforgiven 2005. With HHH winning. In 2007 From the April 2007 to June 2007 on each PPV, Backlash, Judgment day and One night stand. I would have Triple H feud with Mr Kennedy. And HHH win all those PPV matches. Then from June 2007 to July 2007 I would have HHH feud with Tommy Dreamer at Vengeance and The great American bash PPV 2007 with HHH winning all those matches. From Survivor series 2010 to TLC 2010 I would have Triple H feud with Jack Swagger on PPV and win all those matches. I also wish Triple H was a major part of the Invasion storyline in 2001. I would have had a big storyline feud with Chyna in 1999 with PPV matches with HHH winning. I would also have this storyline feud in HHH in ring career. I would have HHH feuded with Bob Holly for SummerSlam 2001 in a street fight with Stephanie McMahon as the guest referee. HHH being the Heel and Bob Holly as the babyface. with HHH winning. For SummerSlam 2005 I would have liked to seen HHH feud with Bubba Ray Dudley and the storyline going into the show could be about their weapon gimmick and the storyline build up is about HHH bragging how awesome and dangerous he is with a Sledgehammer and threatening to injury Bubba Ray with it. While Bubba Ray bragging about how he's very good at put other wrestlers through a table. So the match at SummerSlam 2005 could be a table vs sledgehammer match. If Bubba Ray Dudley puts HHH through a table he win the match but if HHH uses the Sledgehammer on Bubba Ray, then HHH wins. For SummerSlam 2010 HHH could have a feuded with Christian. The storyline could have been Christian conspiring against HHH and saying HHH is unfair and stacking the deck against Christian. So then Christian puts a stipulation on their match at SummerSlam 2010, if HHH wins Christian must leave WWE. But if Christian wins the match then HHH must give him main event WWE championship match at Survivor Series 2010."

As a wrestler he was pretty good too, although sometimes his matches could be a bit slow and a little bit boring due to his limited moveset. His selling was pretty good, and obviously at times inspired by Shawn Michaels."

My personal favourite was when he called out Kofi Kingston for losing his Jamaican accent. I think he was a very solid wrestler, and his promos were good too. Maybe him being with Steph helped his road, but who gives a shit? The man knows what fans wanted, hence why WWE has been a big success since he took over as booker."

[6.0] "Tough to rate because of such a long career spanning multiple roles, and being a WWE lifer means that any criticism is going to be interpreted as tribalism, but here is my opinion. In the ring, he was very solid. He fought through injuries a lot, which I do not know if we should celebrate because of what we know now about athlete safety, but it is very impressive some of the toughness he has shown. On the mic, he was and is very coherent and believable. There are three main issues, though. 1. His gimmick is all over the board. Try explaining his gimmick to someone. It is like well, he is both Hunter and The Game, both The Authority and an anti-authority degenerate, and he is a Connecticut blue-blood who is sometimes called The Cerebral Assassin and the King of Kings for reasons never made clear who likes sledgehammers and kidnapped Stephanie but she was into it or maybe I missed the whole point of that. 2. In speaking of Stephanie, he is often accused of nepotism and politicking. Both with the Kliq and, more egregiously, with the Reign of Terror, Triple H was constantly in favorable positions while others, including fresh faces who really could have helped WWE, were buried. The run in 2002-2003 featured former WCW guys coming into WWE after the expiration of their Turner contracts or, in the case of Booker T, were already there but trying to break the glass ceiling, all to be fed to Triple H. Seemingly done for spite, it was just bad business and isolated a large portion of the fan base. Overexposure in the 2010s further isolated many of the promising upper-mid-card acts as well. 3. I was considering not listing this because it is hearsay, but I think his stance on health and fitness included a hypocritical use of banned substances while admonishing others, like Scott Steiner and Ultimate Warrior. Not that they are guiltless, but Triple H seemingly uses banned substances, too. Not sure if that is uncouth to discuss here, but it relates to the isolation and ostracizing of others discussed in point 2, and if true, it made WWE look bad in the wake of the steroids court of public opinion circa 2008-09."

Quite frankly one of the GOATs. My Time, with the lights, and a young Steph by his side with Big Eagle on his waist? With his physique? That's pro-wrestling. Unfortunately, he's endlessly boring. His promos sucked eggs. He gave us NXT Black and Gold, but there were bad times with that as well. Now he's running the show, and it is so goddamn obvious he either doesn't care, or can't write f****** stories worth a s*** for any women or tag teams within sniffing distance. A lot of the stories are hit and miss, wrestlers are having their very successful gimmicks changed for seemingly no reason, and he hasn't booked a good title reign outside of Gunther overtaking Honky Tonk's IC record. Cody's run is bad. Roman wasn't his, it was Vince's. Rhea's was awful. Liv's *IS* awful, actively. Bayley is barely on TV after a huge climax at Mania. What are we doing here?"

I think he was good during his reign of terror, there were obviously better choices though. I thought the latter period of his career was just mastaburtory."

I wish to know what i am missing but he's just kind of boring. I tried watching his attitude era work and he was just uninteresting as leader of DX, his work as part of the helmsey-mcmanhon thing and the two DX revivals genuinely was some of the worst TV i have ever watched. He has admittedly, a couple of really great matches but they are unnumbered by the amount of bad things he has been apart of. I don't really watch WWE nowadays, so i can't say anything about his booking but as a talent, i simply don't get it."

Mic skills, in-ring skills, banger entrance theme. After putting in the work for decades, he then saves the WWE from it's most unwatchable era. Finally shows without 8, 9, or 10 matches on the show. A balanced out 5 matches. Long term storytelling is also one of the best things he's ever done. Amazing wrestler. Triple H should be in the WWE Hall Of Fame someday. 10/10"
