But just, hot damn, he's on god one of the most exhilarating acts to watch whilst also understanding how to tell a story. His moves are exciting and interesting without being overly inventive or asinine. He shares the focus on moves and story equally, which is just what I'd like in wrestling."

Promoter wise he has helped a lot with the purchasing tickets for foreigners as well as merchandise. He is a great hand to have on your roster."

[8.0] "Ho Ho deserves better than these low ratings. The man is the godfather of Southeast Asian pro wrestling, speaks multiple languages, and is one of the few people actively bridging the gap between eastern and western wrestling with all of his connections. I think a lot of the comments don't understand how much he actually does for the business globally. In the ring, he's gotten better the more time he spends around Dragongate guys. On commentary, he's more than just shouts - he also adds a lot of insight, and many of his interactions with Jae are laugh out loud funny. But he's basically THE guy for DG merch sales, and is most of the reason several Asian countries have wrestling at all."

[3.0] "A below-average wrestler and a plain awful commentator. It's neat that he found a home in Dragon Gate, and he does have a bit of a 'loveable dork' charm for how un-exciting yet at least competent he is in the ring, but I always end up really strongly disliking him for his commentary, where he basically just dramatically EXCLAIMS at every other spot, which gets very exhausting, especially when DG has their generic main-event bombfests that involve big spots one after the other at a rapid pace. It wouldn't be so bad if his voice wasn't so naturally grating, like how other commentators' shocked yells and excitement exclamations can actually enhance the action, but Ho Ho's yells and exclamations just sound harsh and discordant. It also doesn't help that DG's poor English audio set-up sometimes results in Ho Ho loud cries totally distorting the audio, which sounds absolutely terrible. But really, what does Ho Ho offer in this role? He never has any unique insight that Jae can't already offer, since he's not exactly a well-respected and skilled veteran who can offer interesting observations from a wrestler's perspective, so all he's ever remembered for are his many annoying howls. If DG are just dead set on a 2-man commentary booth then they should fork out money for someone far more palatable on the ears, rather than someone who constantly sounds like an overexcited kid. I feel mean saying all this, because I can at least see that Ho Ho is having fun in his commentary role, and I can appreciate that, and he seems like a cool guy, but that still doesn't make his commentary any better."

[6.0] "I originally rated Ho Ho Lun a 6 back in 2017 based off of what I had seen of him in WWE. I still don? t think he is anything to be blown away by but since leaving WWE and finding himself in Dragon Gate he has definitely improved somewhat. Even though I still don? t think he is the best wrestler or someone I see consistently pulling out great matches I think a person like Ho Ho Lun is pretty important for the pro wrestling world. Lun has been successful at more or less creating the small Hong Kong pro wrestling scene. Lun has also helped out with other promotions across Asia in Singapore, Vietnam, Mainland China, Taiwan and Malaysia. He has a passion for pro wrestling and shares that passion to audiences that have little knowledge if any of it."

[4.0] "Ho Ho Lun stood out as by far the worst wrestler to advance to round two of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournament. Is he awful? No. I hear he basically taught himself. His moves lacked impact and he didn't connect as well as he needed to for a fiery babyface, which most everyone else here has already pointed out. He did show some athleticism, though, and plenty of heart, so I imagine he will continue to improve. As it stands now, I think he could be serviceable enhancement talent. He is green by the standard we are used to, but he has work ethic and upside."
KyleEnjoysWrestling wrote on 30.07.2019:
[3.0] "Ho Ho Lun had a pretty unremarkable stint in NXT. If you're going to wear a t-shirt & gym shorts during your matches, you better have some out-of-this-world charisma to offset it. Lun had none of that. He looked like he was a NJPW young lion in both size & appearance. He seemed lost in the ring at points & never connected to the crowd."
InactiveGuru wrote on 31.05.2018:
[5.0] "Not the best and certainly not the worse, what really stands out about Lun is clearly his passion. He followed his dream when family and friends were constantly questioning his thinking for pursuing a career in wrestling and while it must be heartbreaking for him to have to request his release from WWE I have no doubt if he continues to work hard he can find his way back there even more polished in the future."

[3.0] "I honestly just don't see anything special in him. By far the sloppiest of the CWC competitors in the ring. Can be attributed to being self-trained, and I know WWE very much likes him because they can use him to break into the Hong Kong market, but he's just very sloppy, and at times he's bordered on downright dangerous."
The Chosen One wrote on 14.07.2016:
[6.0] "After watching his match in the CWC and watching a couple of matches from him in Hong Kong I would say Ho Ho Lun is an okay wrestler. He has okay technical skills and can deliver a good bridging German Suplex and dropkick. He also has alot of charisma. He needs to learn some moves and make his current moves look more impact full as they look kinda weak."
