"Fred Peloquin worked as a handyman before he got involved in the wrestling business. He got his start with promoter Tony Condello in the early 1970es. Because he bore a striking resemblance to AWA star Mad Dog Vachon that Peloquin was convinced to shave his head and billed as Mad Dog Freddy. He was a headliner for the WFWA during the 1970s and 1980s. He also worked for the AWA where he was billed as Puppy Dog Peloquin (in the AWA there was only room for one Mad Dog and that was Vachon)."
