Drew McIntyre

[9.0] "Drew is probably WWE's best heel, his most recent persona is just so good. He is an underrated wrestler on the mic. But let's be honest here, pre-2020 McIntyre was not good at all. That's what's stopping me from rating him a 10."

[9.0] "Has everything. His mic work has improved incredibly since his time in tna and his first wwe run. Should be the top guy of any company"

[10.0] "Drew is the reason I came back to wrestling after three years away, I only watched the 2020 Rumble because I heard Edge had returned, but the moment Drew Claymored Lesnar I was hooked, and completely in on his push. Since then, he has had his ups and downs. sure, but the intensity is still there, the talent is still there, and my love for Drew is still here. Having read his book, I also realise the insane passion this man has for professional wrestling, and that is something you can always tell he brings to every match. Consider also his great feud with Punk, and the great work he's done since turning heel."

[9.0] "There was a point in time, before my time as a full-on pro wrestling fan, where Drew McIntyre was some random guy that was suddenly pushed as WWE's "Chosen One". The most notable things he has done before what most initially thought would be his peak, are his reign as the inaugural ICW Heavyweight Champion, which I think is pretty neat, and his reigns as FCW Tag Team and Florida Heavyweight champion (the former gained alongside his partner in The Empire, one Stu Sanders aka Stu Bennett aka Wade Barret). Then in 2009, he goes to WWE's main roster, they give him the intercontinental championship, he has a month-long reign as tag team champions with (not-even-Stardust, let alone American Nightmare), Cody Rhodes. He joins 3MB in 2012, and stays in jobber to lower midcard comedy act position until his release on June 12th 2014. Guess what happens once he's free. He goes to EVOLVE, WWN, OCW in Oceania, DPW in Denmark, Maximum Wrestling in Germany, returns to Scottish promotions like ICW and SWA, has a run in WCPW, and that's mentioning only the promotions he would win championships in during his tear on the indies. He even manages to score consistent appearances for what was then known as IMPACT Wrestling, building momentum for what would eventually lead to his WWE return on April 1st 2017. I think most of us know the story from there, but I truly believe that outlining the road this man had to travel to get to the point in his career, where his abscence on the screen is always felt to the extreme, is an essential part of why he is an incredible wrestler. Oh yeah, the wrestling, Drew is really good at that, if you couldn't tell by his accomplishments. Always makes you interested in a match, but steadily expands his amount of ways to truly captivate you as time goes on. First it was his ring work, which as far as I can tell at the very least, has always been at least decent to good, if not great as time passes. I will always be fond of his promos in TNA and WCPW, and I'd argue he has only gotten better in the years since. His indie run has also given way to opportunities for showing off his comedic abilities, playing a role of a straight man in amusing situations to perfection (the Wrestlecon dance-off especially comes to mind). And then there's his unrelenting desire to keep suspenstion of disbelief and investment in whatever he's involved in alive at all costs. Here I think mostly of the feud with CM Punk in 2024, where Drew was on the absolute top of his character work and social media integration, heck, the match they had at Bad Blood was easily the best WWE match of that year, thanks to the hard work that both workers have put in to make this an engaging story on all fronts. Simply put, Drew is a complete package, he has a blessing, and often a simultaneous curse, of being able to do it all. Honestly, one of my favourite wrestlers of all time, a reliable, consistent jack of all trades who knows how to draw you in if the booker allows him to."

[8.0] "Drew spent a long while not doing much for me (i think largely in the Vince "what if the Scottish guy was highlander" era) but his current heelish iteration that allows him to be authentically Drew is so good it's really had me do a complete turnaround, his character work is some of the most straight-up fun in the WWE. he has kind of taken some steps back in the ring since injury and with the decreased amount of matches WWE wrestlers seem to have now, but I personally still like when i get to see Drew do something."

[10.0] "Personally, I feel Drew is the best thing going for WWE right now, constantly puts on good matches and promos. Has constantly been failed by WWE booking but that doesn't stop him from being extremely entertaining, definitely could succeed in any era with his current character, hope he gets a long title reign eventually, it's well deserved."

[9.0] "Drew is living proof that one bad run does not define you and you can comeback from it. He is amazing in-ring, promo and character wise however, he is not the booked in the best way possible as of writing this review."

[8.0] "When he's good, he's really fuckin' good. but when he's bad, he just kind of feels like a wet noodle. Decent in his first run in WWE, really good on the indies, and even better in his second run, Overall, good wrestler."

[9.0] "When he's at his best he's without a doubt an easy 10 but over the last year he's come out as such a loser (In Kayfabe) to the point where it's hurt his stock a ton. Losing feuds to Damian priest, feuding with jelly roll and always losing big matches for "Character development". He can still put on great matches and cut good promos but I'd be lying to you if I told you his stock hasn't taken a massive hit. I can't believe they saw his HIAC match with Punk and didn't instantly push him to the moon when he came back."

[10.0] "Drew is fantastic. He has a great look, great on the mic and works a very physical, believable style that makes sense for him. Respect the fact that after he was let go he went and put in the work to get better and made his way back. Main event talent that you can put the belt on and rely on to have a great match with almost anyone."

"Drew is one of those guys that can fit in any era, physically or just wrestle wise. Alot of old heads like to shit on the new era for not having believable looking guys which is fair but guys like Drew always get overlooked. he has the look, the intensity, the promo skils and the overall character. Drew is definitely one of wrestlings top dogs and i feel like WWE has done a good job with him but it can be better. His feud with punk was a damn good feud and his feud with roman. Hes the guy you want to be your tweener or heel for your company. Unnecessary Rant Below: lets take it back to his "choosen one" days, i could tell WWE saw something in him due to the fact that his gimmick was called the damn "choosen one" but it was like they were scared to pull the trigger but even back then he had the look, even though he was a bit skinnier and had no facial hair, they could have treated him like how they did young orton or young edge, where you could tell they were gonna be the future, with drew it was never a big storyline with him and even had him in a group of jobbers with heath and jinder (who im big fans of). WWE always fumbled the european guys in the 2010s, guys like cesaro, barrett, or rusev never got the main event picture like how they should've. The way Gunther is being booked is how drew, wade and ceasro should have been booked (back in their early days) thats neither here nor there. Drew is a hall of famer as of now and im glad he got the spotlight he's gotten."

[8.0] "Over the past couple of years Drew McIntrye has really grown on me and turned into one of my current favorites in WWE. Drew McIntrye deserves all the accolades WWE throws this mans way."

[8.0] "This guy is GREAT. He is just built like a champion, talks all the game and can back it up time and time again, plays the heel role about as good as you can. It feels like he is ready to take off and hit that next level he always has been destined to and could be in the conversation with all the greats but is just missing that extra umph that would put him there."

[9.0] "Drew McIntyre is simply amazing. He's fantastic in the ring and is fantastic on the mic. He carried WWE during the pandemic era and had possibly one of the best feuds in 2024 with CM Punk. How can you hate Drew McIntyre? He's everything you want in a top star"

[8.0] "Drew McIntyre, alongside Randy Orton and Roman Reigns, carried WWE through the pandemic era. He had the best match of 2024 with CM Punk at Bad Blood, as well as the best feud of 2024 with him. I was disappointed with how he was booked throughout 2025 last year. Drew has the looks, the promo skills, the in-ring ability, the social media shenanigans, and is naturally over with the fans. He should be the face of the company instead of Cody. I'm glad that he took the title off of him and I hope he has a great, lengthy reign."

[10.0] "Drew McIntyre is an all-rounder. He's got the looks of an absolutely dominant heel superstar, is extremely over with the fans online and in real life, especially in Europe and the UK, his homeland. He is a great worker in-ring, can put up absolutely 5-star all the time bangers as evident with Punk at Bad Blood 2024 in that gruesome HIAC match or the WM 39 triple threat with Sheamus & Gunther. His character work, intensity, promo skills, charisma all make him a permanent spot at the main event scene if booked well. Drew McIntyre carried WWE during the Covid era, sadly main evented WM 36 with not a single fan watching, what a tragedy. Yet, he's still a star and I hope he genuinely does go on to main event a real WM in front of a real crowd."

[10.0] "Prior to 2020, Drew was always someone who seemed to have potential but never seemed like he was going to reach main event status. That all changed in 2020, where he became world champion by doing something that WWE rarely ever allows, have Brock Lesnar get dominated. Since then he's proven his versatility as a face, and ultimately became a much more entertaining than he ever was in his previous run with the company. Not only that but his work this decade has been some of the best work of his career and some of the best of the opponents he has faced too. As of right now, (having won his 4th world title), I'd say there's few in the company that are the "whole package" like him."

[8.0] "I was introduced to Drew in 2021 and immediately liked him, he had the look, the presentation, and could put on a good match and promo. That was especially the case during the McIntyre/Punk feud, bangers all around. But as of now, he just feels like someone that Cody Rhodes can beat for the title over and over."

[9.0] "Like Cody, McIntyre experienced many facets in his career. After many highs and lows, he managed to make a name for himself elsewhere and returned as a more complete wrestler, Incredible physique, capable of telling a good story, and incredibly good on the mic; one of my favorites since 2020."

[8.0] "A fantastic wrestler. He really carried wrestling throughout the pandemic and works great in whatever role he's given. He is a perfect monster heel and a just as good babyface who is very captivating. His mic work is great and Drew puts on great matches when he needs too and never puts on a bad match. That's not even to mention his classic Bad Blood match with CM Punk. He also was able to become a top star in all of pro-wrestling after being a jobber in WWE becoming essentially the blueprint that Cody Rhodes followed. Overall just a very underrated and incredible pro-wrestler who people will not value enough until he retires."

[9.0] "I was genuinely gutted when Drew was released by the company in 2014 (Mainly because I loved his theme song), but I understood the decision at the time. Thankfully, he came back stronger than ever and proved exactly why he belongs at the top. And now that he's getting more time on the mic, his character has become a lot more interesting and layered."

[10.0] "I really love Drew McIntyre's 2020 character. A brutal, super-strong face champion who defeated all the villains in his brand. One of my favorite championship runs. This kind of persona suited Drew the best -- like a Thor with features reminiscent of Jotaro Kujo. Overall, he consistently delivered good matches during his reign. Many would say he lacked charisma and was a boring champion. I disagree with that. For example, I remember a segment with Sasha Banks in an intergender match against Ziggler -- a pretty cute and funny segment. The same goes for his interactions with R-Truth. Sometimes Drew can be ruthless, like with Orton, and other times he's kind and gentle. His loss to Bobby Lashley at WM 37 was a mistake by the management. Drew should have been the one to win the title in front of the fans with a deserved triumph. The subsequent booking was pathetic. There was also a chance for him to win the title from Reigns at Clash of the Castle. Drew, with his face aura, could have made the title more significant and prestigious. His victory could have been a nuclear moment on his home turf. Later, they made Drew into a chicken heel who couldn't beat Punk -- and while I respect Punk and see him as an excellent wrestler, I didn't like their feud at all in 2024. It's a major downgrade for McIntyre, turning him into a joke. They're making him look like a parody. I wish he would move to AEW -- there's nothing left for him in WWE. Still, I give him a 10 for that incredible championship run, for the full work over himself -- from the lowest low-carder to a beast-slayer and Goldberg-slayer. When his status was lower than El Torito, he could have just quit wrestling and said it's not his thing. But he traveled across companies, gained experience, and worked on himself, becoming a completely different person. An incredible story and a fantastic journey."

[7.0] "I've never got into him like others have. He's just one of those wrestlers that don't click with me. I see the look & he's good in the ring but I just tend to not be all that interested in anything he does"

[10.0] "A true wrestling success story. A man who has seen all the highs and lows of this business. Been a fan since I can remember playing as him on SvR2011, saw him in person on the British indies after his WWE release, where he turned his unfortunate WWE release around, shone in impact, reinvented himself for NXT and became 'the' guy on the main roster. Carried WWE on his back during Covid and AEW's rise. Should have beaten Reigns at clash in 2022. Has always put on banger matches. Best feud of the year last year against Punk, where he carried it. Multiple time world champ. One of the few wrestlers who can actually utilise social media. One third of the greatest triple threat match of all time at WM39. Actually looks like a badass who belongs in the ring. Drew is a 10 definitely, a 9 on a bad day and an 8 at a push. Anyone rating lower pours their milk before their cereal. It's a huge shame WWE doesn't have him in the main event consistently, as having him feud with Priest and Fatu is borderline insulting considering how much better he is than the both of them combined."

[10.0] "What needs to be said that hasn't been said yet? Drew did the "Cody" before Cody. Went from an over pushed "Chosen One" and being bland asf, but clearly talented, to being cut, making himself a star in the Indies, getting resigned and haven't looked back since. Bonified Main Eventer, believable challenger for any belt and any opponent and undeniably a future Hall Of Famer. On top of that this guy is flawless in ring , its so mind boggling how such a massive dude can perfect the art of wrestling so beautifully. Everytime you see him whether its a match, a promo or just a backstage segment you can guarantee he will leave some type of impact on you. A workhorse, and honestly one of the best active wrestlers in every aspect of wrestling. If you ever want to see everything that makes this man so great in less than 10minutes just go and watch his promo with KO on Raw. An alltimer promo not because of length, not because of any insulting lines. But because every single word he said was 100% true. He is a wrestler, in a wrestling ring, so let him fricking wrestle! 10/10!"

[10.0] "Drew McIntyre as a hill - is a monster in the ring and on the mic. I love this man from begging his main-event journey. NXT run, feud againts Adam Cole, then main roster, some running stuff with a Dolph Ziggler and finally... Royal Rumble, when he throwed out Brock Lesnar - it's the starting point for him in WWE, not that old Drew, when he has vibe "This is our nice main-eventer and everyone should eat it"."

[9.0] "Drew Mcintyre is a fine babyface, but never should be one as he's as good as a heel is it'll get in the modern days. Mcintyre is a phenomenal promo, looka physically great, is great in the ring and plays the Hater character perfectly. His first WWE run wasn't any good and the only good thing he had going at the time was hus theme song and I originally thought Midcard was his ceiling. Right now, booking him like a midcard guy like WWE is right now is an absolute crime. He deserves another run as the top guy for sure. Great talent."

[9.0] "His look and his in ring work right now is really good. His first reign as WWE Champion was very good with many good matches, he also did a fine job of carrying RAW during the CoVId era. He has since been booked as a main event level talent and deservedly so but he has never recieved his throne in front of the audience. The only time he has won the World Championship in front of the crowd, he lost it in mins. This is a man who has consistently put on great matches, whose feuds are always intense filled with heat and humor. Drew has leveled up beyond what many expected of him, he deserves to be a World Champion again, he deserves his chance to be the face of WWE."

[9.0] "I always thought he was mediocre, but this recent months he has been a highlight on every single match and promo he is on"

[10.0] "His whole career, including the Indies, had been nothing short of...interesting. His original WWE run was ultimately cut short after midcard singles success, with him being placed in 3MB and Vince making him the "Chosen One" didn't end up holding through long. After his release, he completely reinvented his character and in-ring work in places like Evolve, WCPW, ICW, and TNA! Once he returned, he became a fan favorite as he was dominant in NXT, winning the title. I don't remember his work with Dolph Ziggler, except when Seth and Dean Ambrose were rivals. The 2020 Rumble was Drew McIntyre solidifying himself as a main eventer, eliminating Brock Lesnar and winning the whole thing, ultimately dethroning Brock Lesnar in the Pandemimania at WM36 in a VERY lackluster and disrespectful match. Throughout the Pandemic, Drew CARRIED the company with 2 WWE title reigns, great matches with people like Randy Orton in HIAC, and was honestly the integral piece for WWE surviving well there. Post Pandemic, Drew has been lauded with praise with his amazing in-ring work and unbelievable mic skills as his heel turn really gave us the BEST Drew McIntyre we have ever seen. He's had 5-star classics with CM Punk in the HIAC, against Sheamus and Gunther for the IC title at WM39, an underrated finisher fest at WM40 where he won the World Title and got cashed in on, and even TV bangers like that triple threat against Ilja and Sheamus for qualifying for MITB. Speaking of that, he also won MITB last year, but failed to cash in. McIntyre is not stopping in his red hot run in the main event and his recent feud with CM Punk (in contention for best feud this century) and now hunting down the Bloodline one by one, it's really damn cool to see. Oh and he's also (if I didn't say before, the best heel in the industry)"

[9.0] "From his early days in WWE as the "Chosen One" to his resurgence as a fan favourite, Drew has truly earned his place at the top.What stands out about Drew is his versatility. He's a powerhouse who can deliver brutal strikes and power moves, but he's also got the technical ability to go toe-to-toe with anyone in the ring. Drew's promos are another highlight. He's incredibly authentic, always sounding like a man with a mission. His passion comes through, whether he's cutting a fiery promo or simply talking about his journey, he's interesting and entertaining. He's had his setbacks, but his ability to rise from them and prove himself as a top-tier talent is what makes him stand out. Overall, Drew McIntyre is the epitome of a modern top-tier WWE Superstar."

[9.0] "Quite simply the best heel in wrestling now. The moment WWE decided to turn him and just give him the mic and let Drew be Drew was a revelation. As a worker he's way better than most in WWE. His strength allows him to pull off moves most people can't and make them look all the more impressive. He can also sell like a champ when it's called for. He really has no weaknesses except for some reason WWE refuses to put a title on him for more than 5 minutes."

[10.0] "One of the best right now, I've enjoyed both of Drew's WWE runs and I appreciate his efforts in all of his matches to get the best out of all his opponents, this is a guy who would be able to create a legendary finisher without even thinking about it. oh yeah; he did. With Drew's 6'5 stature and his age, I'm surprised he can still move better than he could in his younger years in the WWE. Honestly a really valuable wrestler to any company and those companies should feel privileged to have Drew under their contract."

"Maybe not among the greatest in the ring but still very capable and entertaining with his in-ring work based on his powerful stature. His claymore kick is sick ! From a character point of view he is incredible, great as a babyface, very likeable, and amazing as a "justified" heel, which is his current work. He doesn't get the biggest reaction from fans at the moment because he follows another stupid trend of guys being heel and not doing anything bad so they just seem cool. If the put him against heels he'd be a big face but instead hes just the fall guy for upper mid carders. His promos are always good and so are his matches just storylines out of his control keep pushing him down."

[10.0] "Drew McIntyre is among the top three professional wrestlers in the world currently. He is a true a master of his craft, in the ring and on the microphone. Unfortunately, WWE have not been treating him as well as they should."

[9.0] "What a pro-wrestling comeback. Hand picked as the next top guy in 2009, didn't live up to expectations and was put in the 2014 version of the J.O.B Squad. Left the big time to fight it out on the British independent wrestling scene, absolutely killed it, got an offer from IMPACT, and while the creative in general at the time wasn't in any way good, he still left IMPACT looking a bigger and better star than when he left. Then he got a 2nd chance and has KILLED it ever since, the guy is a genuine main event level star now and he is always finding ways to elevate himself and his opponents. Also he just recently competed in one of the top 3 Hell In a Cell Matches of All Time - Props to Drew."

[10.0] "Genuniley one of my favorite wrestlers today. Can put on banging matches with almost anyone, can cut one hell of promo, and just has that look. A badass and an amazing wrestler, Drew is climbing the ranks of one my favorite wrestlers, whether it's CM Punk at Bad Blood, Damian Priest at CATC, or Seth Rollins at Raw Day 1, Drew can put on good matches at nearly anytime. Also he is funny on twitter"

[10.0] "I don't know a lot about Drew's work prior to the beginning of the Triple H era on the main roster (because that's when I started watching again), so I'm basing this only on that and not on the "3 Man Band" or whatever else happened before. Over the past couple of years he's been phenomenal, in the ring and on the mic, he's got one of the best looks in the business (and let's not pretend that doesn't matter, it does), and he's had one of the all-time best feuds this year with CM Punk. Even now he's pushing 40 I still believe he might not even have peaked yet and has a hell of a lot still to offer. The sky's the limit."
