[9.0] "Gulak is one of the most technically proficient wrestlers of his generation. He excels in mat-based grappling, chain wrestling, and ring psychology, often bringing a refreshing, no-nonsense style to an industry dominated by flashier moves. His work in 205 Live and on the Cruiserweight Classic earned him a cult following among fans who appreciate pure wrestling. He showed unexpected versatility too -- his "PowerPoint Presentation" gimmick added a comedic edge that proved he could entertain beyond just grappling. His Cruiserweight Championship run in 2019 was well-earned and helped give credibility back to the title. While WWE often underutilized him or kept him in the midcard, Gulak consistently made the most of every role. Whether as a serious technician or a straight-faced comedy foil, he's the kind of wrestler who makes everyone around him better. He may never be a world champion, but Gulak is a wrestler's wrestler -- sharp, skilled, and quietly influential"

RJP360 wrote on 24.10.2024:
[4.0] "Good technician unfortunatelly looks that the was a bully in backstage of NXT, don't understand why since he didn't acomplish anything important in the WWE, now in the indies aparently he is using his bully time as a gimmick now what is disgusting to me, with a good run in the indies like Evolve and CZW and founding a little success in WWE but mostly by chasing the 24/7 title, doesn't seem like he is going to be back in a big company soon."
Saladbagel wrote on 08.10.2024:
[2.0] "Drew Gulak is solid in the ring, if unremarkable. However, it's hard to respect a bully who purposefully drops trainees on their head, especially in this era where such stuff shouldn't be tolerated. There are loads of fundamentally sound wrestlers across the world today, so it's not worth seeing Gulak around in any major company. Not to mention, he's a boring promo whose glory days included giving intentionally dull promos with a powerpoint gimmick. Apart from that, there is nothing special about him, especially since he's already on the older side for an indie guy these days. Unless he fixes his attitude problems, I don't see him amounting to anything worthwhile."

[5.0] "Drew Gulak is an example of a person who had a lot of the tools but he kind of caused his own demise. In the ring he was good and he showed charisma at times for example his power points on 205 live. His WWE run ended due to issues with his behavior backstage and in the ring."
CJWhite wrote on 17.07.2024:
[10.0] "Drew Gulak is awesome. Trained plenty of amazing talent (Most notably Rich Swann and Wheeler Yuta). Loved his work in CHIKARA, CZW, and EVOLVE. Reminds me of another one of the all-time greats Dean Malenko in terms of ring work. WWE not renewing his contract was a COLOSSAL mistake on their part. Rousey only wishes she could wrestle as good as Drew. His work as part of The Colony and Catch Point was top notch. Hopefully he makes it back on TV soon, maybe ROH, MLW, or TNA could use him. Should have had a few mid card title runs (US, IC, NA, and a couple of tag title runs with Bryan or Nese)."

Considering all of us should have given him the side-eye regarding his brother, this is more than enough to flush him down the same toilet as David Star, Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle, Travis Banks and countless other sex pests (or worse)"

[4.0] "A man of a thousand chances - none taken. A symbol of mediocrity - both in the ring and on the microphone. On top of that, an asshole on the NXT backstage, who with his behavior drove even HBK mad. An example of a wrestler in whom ego far exceeds skills."
CutieSuzuki wrote on 03.05.2024:
[7.0] "You know how when Bad Bunny and Logan Paul first came into the WWE, everyone was commenting about how good they were for celebrity wrestlers? You can thank Drew Gulak for that - genuinely one of the best wrestlers out there from a pure technical standpoint, has a lot of love for the industry (he used to be a wrestling forum kid), and is a bonafide Chikara icon. I want more out of him, of course, but WWE definitely knows what they have. There's a reason why, when his contract was up and he was a free agent, they made SURE to resign him. They both know and understand his worth backstage. -------- EDIT: As of today, Drew Gulak has been released from WWE. My review has nothing to do with the accusations towards him and is indicative solely of his career - the rating I give him is due to his incredible wrestling skill and his time in the indies, specifically in Chikara."

It is extremely unfortunate how he has been wasted in recent years. The only thing that holds Gulak back (other than booking) is that he does have a fairly bland look, but outside of that he can do it all. If only WWE gave him more opportunity to show it."
PhenomenalGun wrote on 27.06.2022:
[6.0] "Gulak's just really bland and boring. I can't deny that he's one of the best technical workers in WWE, but he doesn't have much besides that. His gimmicks have never been all that great, his look is one of the most indie things ever (which is not always a bad thing, just not in the WWE), and his mic work is just not there. He's a great in-ring worker but he's not much beyond that."
WhatIsLooveee wrote on 08.06.2022:
[8.0] "A technical genius, at the same time feeling great in comedy roles. Gulak started his career in CZW where he managed to become a champion and showed a number of good matches, including a wonderful psychological rivalry against Danny Havoc. In Chikara, he tried himself in more comedic roles and it seems to me that this is really what he does perfectly well. As a member of the Gentlemen's Club and the Colony, he was able to really open up, his eagle flight is just the most hilarious thing I've seen in wrestling. In WWE he is mostly in the lower roles, but he can show great matches when he is given more time. Now he also works as a trainer, however, when he returns to the ring, he gives his all and he is a real workhorse."

[8.0] "Gulak is criminally underrated. McMahon books him like a clown now, but in NXT and especially 205 Live, he was fantastic. He's great at being a heel with comedic charm, like with his power point presentations. In the ring he is no slouch, using a squeaky clean technical style that I absolutely love. He has a pretty forgettable look however, and his selling isn't the greatest either. But those minor quibbles hardly take away from his strengths. Great midcard heel that can really shine if given a chance."

LexiconExpressicon wrote on 05.01.2020:
[10.0] "Gulak can play the serious, aggressive technician (I remember this most notably from his matches with Nese and Mandrews in the 2018 CW Championship tournament) as well as the goofy comedy act (His 'no-fly zone' gimmick was a great juxtaposition to the traditional flippy style of cruiserweights). The guy's been underrated even on 205 Live, he should have been the face of the division as soon as PAC left, but it instead took him nearly two years after that to get the belt. Now he's a jobber on SmackDown, a crying shame considering his talent. I consider him to be this generation's Kurt Angle, but he'll never fulfil that potential in WWE as long as they keep on booking him in this way. I'd love to see him work in New Japan, it would be a perfect opportunity to showcase his exemplary character work and technical expertise, I'd give all of my money to see a rematch from the CW Classic between himself and Zack Sabre Jr."

[7.0] "Gulak is such a versatile performer. We've seen him as a technical wizard, a comedy act, and even a hardcore worker. He sometimes comes off a little bland & the fact that they need people for 205 Live & he fits that bill keeps him from achieving anything greater. Very skilled, but I'm not sure he'll ever reach that next level."

Evolve Gulak, CZW Gulak and Chiakra Gulak are all very different yet all unmistakably Gulak. Now that he's the Cruiserweight Champion I'm hoping to see more great work from him."
Paul Allain wrote on 11.05.2019:
[10.0] "One of the best technician on the independent circuit, Drew Gulak as mastered mat wrestling through the years, but he also has added presence and charisma to his repertoire, making him a bona fide Indy star. No matter his opponent, we can be assured that he will create a great match. Graduating to the Cruiserweight Classic and 205 Live, he continues to be a worldclass wrestler and one of the best technicians in the world. If he can only find a way to channel a character that can capture people's imagination, he might become as big as Daniel Bryan is, because his potential as no limits."
ZestyZuluWarrior wrote on 01.09.2018:

He has proved that he can be a great heel/face as well as being able to do any gimmick from comedy to serious technician. I think that if he was allowed to break out of 205 Live (no disrespect to the show) he would truly thrive."

But in the WWE, where character is key, he has completely shined as a master at comedic timing and working a crowd. His powerpoints, his mannerism and his ability to play off others make him one of the best 205 Live acts."

A great talent who can break the mold of what it means to be a cruiserweight wrestler in the WWE. I'm a big fan of his look too, he can turn from goofy to serious and scary in seconds."
Astraeus wrote on 04.11.2016:
[6.0] "From an in-ring perspective, Drew Gulak is everything you could ask for. He's a next-level technician, fast and smooth and interesting to watch. He's already drawn a bit of mainstream attention for his role in the Cruiserweight Classic, and as his time in WWE increases his exposure, he's definitely going to get noticed. He's got much better psychology than many of the cruiserweights, and he's got a long list of great matches under his belt. His biggest weakness -- one which will surely be exposed on the big stage -- is his microphone ability. Gulak has a bit of difficulty presenting himself seriously -- he never comes off as terribly sincere, and his promos definitely need work. Even beyond that, he doesn't have much of a character; he looks like an indie wrestler suddenly dropped onto Raw, and that's no far from the truth. At only 29, he's got years to find his way, and more than enough talent to do it. To really progress, though, he needs to work on his personality."

He is a Jaguar that has been racing on dirt roads he needs to finally get on the grand highway. Once he ascends to the upper echelon of the wrestling world his talents will become solidified and there will be no doubt that this man is one of the greatest wrestlers in the World right now. What Gulak lacks in size he makes up in ring psychology and speed and skill. A real throwback wrestler who transcends time and space as he is that brilliant. He is a saltier, grittier version of Daniel Bryan."
