Jericho

[7.0] "I wish I could rate Jericho higher. I was a big fan of his for a long time and he has had so many great matches earlier in his career and so many memorable moments even to his end in WWE. Hell, when he first came over to AEW I was happy with the way he engaged with the other talent and felt he was more or less a fitting first champion, but each time he left and came back, it felt like there was a severe diminishing return. In the ring he has tried to develop his style to fit his ability, I felt the Judas Effect and the Codebreaker were admirable attempts, but I think the rest of his move set doesn't match that attempt, either trying to hold on what he can or just seemingly filler to get him to the bigger spots he can still pull off. Worse though than match quality has been his decline in story telling and promo work. The learning tree was a low point that made me genuinely dislike seeing him on the show from week to week. I feel like this latest run has only been marginally better from the mere fact that he has been less intrusive in the show and been spending at least a decent part of it putting over other talent, but it still comes with some pretty grating low points. That being said, I still have many fond memories of Jericho's high points and don't want to let the last couple of years completely taint his legacy."

[8.0] "Jericho averages about 6.5/10 for his last 100 singles matches (weighted toward the more viewed ones). So, why is he an 8 or a 9? Jericho's the Will Ospreay of the promo. I watched a good chunk the Y2J era of WWE. Besides the Chyna/Jarrett feud, I couldn't tell you anything about the quality of the matches he was in. I was rolling my eyes at this boob talking the ear off of everybody else. But I wasn't dismissing him. I wasn't looking to skip ahead. I was just wondering where he was going to go. Jericho's athleticism dropped off and went back up in recent years, but he's still that guy on the microphone in AEW. The Learning Tree was the biggest prank on the AEW fanbase and it's evident here too, despite the fact it was not all that much different than the JAS or The Inner Circle. Still, with my personal misgivings and missing some of his best matches, I'm sticking with an 8."

[5.0] "Once one of the all-time greats, defeated the Rock and Stone Cold on the same night. Now? He's still serviceable in the ring, but my god does he suck the life out of any match or angle he gets put in (or puts himself in). Being in a program with Jericho in 2026 feels like the kiss of death, just ask Sammy, Bryan Keith, Big Bill, etc. He needs to retire and focus on being a trainer and backstage guy, because as a wrestler he's lost more than a step and is nothing more than a theme song to sing at this point."

[5.0] "I can't rate Jericho super high simply for the fact his awful years have been going on for so many years now. Even with his prime he just wasn't that impressive to me in ring wise, his best trait was always his mic & character work so when the creativity of that started to fall off it just exposed him even more. The best way I can describe Chris Jericho is leave the game before the game leaves you."

[6.0] "Prime Chris Jericho would be an easy 10. However, I can't stand him currently. Ever since 2021 he has sucked the life out of nearly every story he has been in, not to mention he's just not good in the ring anymore. Nobody wants to see a 56 year old wrestle on national television, it's time to retire my man. Jericho's WWE tenure and early run in AEW (2019-Early 2020) are the only thing not dragging down this rating to a 3"

[10.0] "While many know him from WCW and beyond, Jericho has had great matches much before that.Starting in 1990 in Canada, he made his name in Mexico, Japan and ECW before landing up in WCW.He had an all time great debut in WWF, and always had good performances.He reinvented himself many times, had a feud which I consider one of the greatest(jericho vs micheals).He then made a shocking return to Japan in 2018 and had an incredible bout against Omega.In my opinion, he was the perfect choice for first ever AEW champion.However, he declined after 2022 with his only good performance being against Ospreay.Since then, Jericho has made a comeback with with his matches being his best in a few years.Despite the downsides, his longevity and body of work make him one of my all time favourite wrestlers.A legend of the business"

[7.0] "If we're looking at his peak, easy 9/10. However the last 5 years or so has really soured me on him. He's been meh at best to downright annoying and makes me want to not watch at worst. I don't see how you can be higher than a 7 when you've been so bad as to making people want to change the channel."

[3.0] "You know I sometimes wonder why he decided to keep going. He has become what he has hated I seriously don't understand why he still active in AEW? If I was him I would have left had one last run in WWE and finally retire. I'm not going to pretend like he isn't one of the great he has some memorable moments but he has decided to tarnish his legacy by keep wrestling even though he can't move as as well as as he used to. I also hated when Tony Khan gave him the ROH Championship and barely did anything with it. If you going to give him the ROH championship at least have a reason behind it. Some of things I do enjoy from him are. The Rey Mysterio feud, Shawn Michaels feud, Jeri-KO friendship story."

[5.0] "Even in his prime I was never the biggest Jericho fan when it came to his stuff in the ring, for as long as he's wrestling yea you can come up with some great matches but he consistently was not putting on classics compared to wrestlers that are his peers etc. he looks even worse now that he is incredibly washed. His character work is fantastic for the most part which has been a huge factor of his career but in ring I never thought he was close to being the best"

[10.0] "In my opinion, Chris Jericho is the greatest wrestler of all time. Although his peak was either in the late 90s or the late 2000s (depending on which gimmick you prefer) He still can put on decent matches at 55 years of age, while also having no problem putting over younger talent on countless different occasions. Something I don't see other veterans really doing. He's worked with nearly everybody over these last few decades. Nobody else has had this level of longevity."

[9.0] "Maybe not in legacy but he is the closest wrestling equivalent to Lebron James. He reinvents his gimmicks to fit anything. Great in the ring. An all timer on the mic. Great comedic timing."

[10.0] "Legend through and through, his legacy speaks for itself. He was always good for a chuckle, making 2009 Raw somewhat bearable with his comedic timing, and he was a highlight of the WCW cruiserweight division I fell in love with. Raw is Jericho, The List, The Pinnacle with the musical segment opposite MJF, all absolute highlights and hall-of-fame worthy moments in history. One of the greatest ever, an author of the best wrestling books minus brets too, if I may add that. He is an innovator who always remained relevant and has outlasted countless other legends by his sheer creativity alone. He is a wrestling savant who clearly understands the assignment whenever he is given a storyline to go with. One of the great living legends we have, it will be a sad day when he retires but he will earn his place as one of the all-time greatest ever."

[6.0] "Personally i've never been the biggest Jericho girl out there. He's a decent wrestler don't get me wrong, he also excels on the mic but there's no part of Jericho that screams "one of the best in the world""

[6.0] "Once one of my all time favorite wrestlers with a perfect combination of in-ring acumen and charisma with a remarkable ability to adapt to the perpetually shifting landscape of the professional wrestling industry, currently a self-parody clinging on to the small shreds of relevancy he has left in an industry that's left him behind. I wish Jericho would stop trying to "reinvent" himself and turn every tiny little organic thing into some forced recurring bit. The mentality that once worked for him back in the day is now actively working against him and he's spiraling downward in an infinite cycle of sunk-cost fallacy thinking in regards to repeatedly pushing gimmicks and catchphrases that just do not work in hopes that they will. Also has shitty real life politics, sadly. I still respect the sheer volume of great work he did over the course of his career up until around 2022, but nearly everything from around that point onwards has demonstrated that he isn't really the David Bowie of the professional wrestling world, moreso the Mike Love. I hope he either retires soon or manages one last run to save us, Y2J."

Chris Jericho used to be great but the last 5 years has been the exact opposite of great to the point where now it's get off my TV energy or bathroom break whenever his match is about to start. He's tried changing gimmicks but no gimmick can work when you are washed which is exactly what he is right now. This score would be even lower the longer he continues"

[6.0] "I used to have Jericho at a 9 or 10 honestly but over the years he's slipped down and down for me and got worse on the mic and WAYYY worse in the Ring and gets the win over a lot of young talent that I know he probably had a hand in. Jericho just needs to wrap it up and call it a career before he gets worse and ruins his legacy"

[6.0] "When it's all said and done he'll be far higher than a 6. Unfortunately since 2022 he's only been getting worse and worse. He's been in some AWFUL matches and was by far the worst thing in AEW during 2024. I'm glad he realized that he needed to step back, which he did. But I'm not overly excited for his return, which will eventually happen for sure. Since his return he's been watchable for the most part. His two singles matches haven't been bad, but they haven't been good either. His current feud with Ciampa is without a doubt the worst he's been since coming back."

[9.0] "(9.4) All timer. First ballot hall of famer. Constant reinvention. For a corporate rock kinda guy he's got a bit of punk rock in him. Not afraid to try new things, wrestle against non mainstream performers and will seemingly go anywhere on the globe for a match. Can get almost any gimmick over. Can wrestle virtually any style. Getting a little long in the tooth and sometimes can come across as a touch desperate to stay relevant. His athleticism has certainly slowed in his 50's but his creativity hasn't abated even a little. Legend. Top 50 all time. Probably much higher"

[7.0] "If I were rating Chris Jericho from debut to his feud with CM Punk, I could say I'd be looking at a 9, even could be swayed to a 10. Everything he did up until that point was banger matches or entertaining promos/segments. But unfortunately, with the exception of a few feuds, I have found Jericho to be progressively more and more grating to watch, and not because of his heel work. The List of Jericho & Jeri-KO (until the WM match), The beginning of The Inner Circle, and the "Labors of Jericho" with MJF were bright parts reminding me of how good Jericho was, but everything between and after have unfortunately just ruined my perception of him and his legacy has sadly depreciated quite a bit in my eyes."

[7.0] "Jericho's good. He's good. But can you honestly name a great match of his in which he is the better worker? HBK, Benoit, Rock, Austin, Rey, Malenko, Kenny, Naito. I guess in the company of masters, mediocrity gets overlooked. Compare that with a plethora of other greats whose matches with Jericho only managed to be okay. Edge, Claudio, Steen, Danielson, HHH, Angle, Cena, Punk. Go back in the archives and you will find that it always seemed Jericho's in-ring performance was largely dependant on the quality of his opponent, not his own ability. Jericho is rated higher on this website than Randy Savage, Mick Foley, Samoa Joe, Owen Hart, The Rock, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins and MJF. I wouldn't think this was so insulting if it wasn't for the fact that Jericho has nearly 2400 votes. My question is how has he bamboozled so many wrestling fans? Funny segments with the Rock in 1999 should not guarantee you GOAT status. Hall of Fame career? For sure. 10/10 wrestler? Fuck no."

[10.0] "Yes, he's washed, we know, but I don't believe 3 mid/bad years can tarnish 20 years of consistent amazing matches, promos, and characters. He can work perfectly as a face and a heel, can work in any company and can work any character. Everybody knows Jericho is one of the GOATS point blank. Also has some of the best quotes in wrestling has he has limitless charisma "Drink it in man", "you just made the list", "you stupid idiot" and so much more, cmon now."

[10.0] "MY GOAT! Jericho is a trailblazer.... He has transcended the game and just continues at such a high level. Y2J needs to make one more stop and appear on MLP in Canada."

[7.0] "Chris Jericho is one of the all-time greats, but his work since 2022 really drags the overall rating for me. If he had just let MJF retire him in 2021 and transitioned into commentary, his legacy would look so much better. That would've been the perfect send off. His WWE run from 1999-2005 was excellent - awesome promos, great matches, he had everything you wanted to see in a wrestler. When he came back in 2007, he reinvented himself again and that 2008-2009 heel run was probably his best character work ever. He always knew how to stay fresh back then and reinvent himself. His early AEW run was also really good and he was the perfect first champion.He was entertaining, funny, and the Inner Circle worked well. But everything after 2021 has just been rough. The feud with American Top Team, JAS, and the Learning Tree stuff was awful. His matches have gotten slower and harder to watch. His physique the last few years has been god awful. His feud with Eddie Kingston was too long and one of the worst feuds AEW has done. It did not benefit Kingston at all. There's no denying how great he was, but the last few years have really hurt how I view him overall."

[7.0] "Is Chris Jericho a legend? Absolutely, he's an amazing wrestler and is amazing on the mic. One of my favorite things he did was his List Of Jericho from 2016, I mean it was so stupid it was comedy gold. The reason I'm sadly giving him a 7 is because of his learning tree gimmick he had in AEW. Also during that period, he kept having terrible match after terrible match. I still like Jericho, but that period is something I'll never forgive him for."

[10.0] "Chris is one of my all time favorites. Great in ring worker in his prime and very charismatic. Fantastic on the mic and one of the wittier talkers of all time. Understands the industry well and constantly tries to reinvent himself to prevent from getting stale, to his own detriment sometimes. Has alit to offer to the next generation, but should consider wrapping it up as an in ring competitor. Really needs smoke and mirrors to hide his lack of athleticism and keep up with the young guys. Still an all-time great regardless."

[7.0] "Chris Jericho has always been good but I've honestly never seen him as being a truly top tier performer aside from that brief sliver in 2001 where he was the de facto top babyface of the WWF and putting on bangers every week. He was also one of the few good things about WWE circa 2009 with his main event suit-and-tie heel run but it wasn't Bret Hart in 1995 level work like so many people my age misrember it being; he was simply an acceptably good main event heel in an otherwise very bad era. Everything he has done since 2012 has been a diminishing return."

"This is combining everything. Pre-2023, he'd definitely be an 8 or 9, but that very lackluster run he had in 2024 and 2025 really worsened my view on him as a wrestler. Please retire, for your legacy and your own good"

[9.0] "Y2J. Chris Jericho, what a guy hard to rate and talk about. When AEW was created, many people start arguing about if he can be consider the greatest wrestler of all time. Currently, due to his washed moments at those last two years, no one has the guts to bring that theme once again into the table, but when it was created everyone truly believed at that. Always was a draw, multiple awards, titles and records like the impressive one that he beat Stone Cold and The Rock at the same night, multiple gimmicks which he was completelly different at each one of them. Funny, entertaining, a great heel when it was necessary to be, a proper face when it was necessary to be. Those last years surely hurt his legacy, not a single AEW fan wants him to keep working and the WWE fans that are not casuals are kinda worried about him coming."

[10.0] "At 50 something, he can still go. He's still got it and is one of the best of all time in the business. He beat Stone Cold & The Rock on the same night to become the Undisputed Champion. The Nueve is still the best in the world."

[9.0] "I'd give him a solid 9. He knew how to evolve and such, great on the mic, has had a lot of great feuds and stories. He also excels at psychology and timing in the ring, knowing exactly how to work a crowd and make every match feel important."

[8.0] "I think early 2000s Jericho was next level good and I think he may have even peaked a bit later in 2008-2009 with the honest man gimmick. Also really enjoyed his first couple of years in AEW. I do think he's had some stinkers though, and the last few years have been downright awful for him, with long storylines that just aren't compelling."

[6.0] "The guy who beat stone cold and rock at the same night, submitted John Cena but lost to Fandango at Wrestlemania.His work in WCW, AEW and WWE was priceless.He can work good both as a heel or Babyface.He should be inducted into the hall of Fame."

These days, he clings to relevance through bloated gimmicks, overexposure, and ego-fueled booking that often buries rising stars instead of elevating them. What once felt like reinvention now comes off as self-parody. He's become a guy who won't step aside, and the longer he sticks around, the more he chips away at a legacy that deserved better. Jericho's early career still carries serious weight, from his WCW breakout to his legendary Undisputed Champion run. But the constant reinventions, vanity projects, and refusal to pass the torch cleanly are dragging him down. A legacy built on greatness is now dulled by overexposure and awkward, attention-seeking behavior (like gawking over random women on the internet)"

[3.0] "Chris Jericho is an absolutely legendary performer who will go down as one of the best professional wrestlers in history when he eventually decides to retire. He's been all over the world! WWF/E, WCW, FMW, WAR, CMLL, ECW, AAA, NJPW, ROH, AEW, DDT & PWG. He's done this and done that! He's held mid card titles, world titles, tag titles, you can name it and he's done it. Amazing segments. Amazing matches, Amazing stories. He's an easy 10 when he hangs it up. But it's 2025 and he's still wrestling so we rate based on his current run. He's 54 years old and has obviously slowed down since then. A broken down body which can't perform like it used to. He's now the Learning Tree and has Big Bill and Bryan Keith, while funny it feels forced and it ends up being hard to watch and everytime AEW tries to get Jericho over it just doesn't work. He needs time away from the ring. He can't go like he used to and it's sad."

[5.0] "I can't believe I am rating my favourite professional wrestler a five however I would have to. I rate wrestlers based on their current form. Aside from that he's probably the G.O.A.T not on terms of his in ring work but for how many characters he played perfectly. But if you stick for too long after you have nothing to really offer in the ring anymore you get at most a five. He should just stop wrestling he's done so well throughout his career I don't want him to ruin it. I don't want to see the day the fans will keep chanting please retire for him every time he wrestles."

[4.0] "Used to be one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I don't think his career deserves a 9 though, if I'm being brutally honest. He helped define WWE back when it needed stronger technical wrestlers, and sadly WWE decided to go way more sports entertainment (until more recently). Now Jericho is THE "sports entertainment" guy for AEW, all the while it seems TK is deciding to go in a different direction creatively. Jericho's AEW run really wasn't anything that spectacular either, so maybe he'll hang up the tights and hopefully stick around as a manager or something. 4 for his formative time in WWE, 0 for everything else - including his politics."

[10.0] "One of the best in history of wrestling 100%, he did so much and accomplished everything in any company he was, but one thing I don't like, that WWE made this "list" story with him and made this type of legend like a clown, that's kinda unfair and that's one more thing I don't like about Vince McMahon vision"

[10.0] "Sadly, as he is still active, I can't give him a 10 which he richly deserves. Still, alongside Shawn Micheals , my favourite wrestler ever. Chris Jericho is a type of wrestler that makes wrestling worth watching. Chris has re-invented himself more times than almost anybody and importantly, got over almost everytime. This guy literally got a list over. However, that is just one thing that makes him one of the greatest wrestlers ever. Chris is an absolute pro in the ring, Top 5 mic workers of all time imo and was the literal embodiment of what a upper mid-carder should be like. Now, The AEW run did start pretty good but around 2022-23 Chris was just not hitting the same. The Learning Tree is definitely his worst work ever. But man, there is so much to like. Matches with Punk, Benoit, Mysterio, Michaels, Edge, Rock, Cena in WWE, With Guerrero, Malenko, Juventud in WCW and with Omega, Tanahashi, Naito, Okada in NJPW shows his range and versatility in ring. Promos like the Man of 1004 holds, With Rock, Stephanie, Austin, Michaels and Catchphrases like Stupid Idiot, Drink it in MAAAAAAAN, Litttle Bit of The Bubbly etc are genuinely hilarious.Finally, he is a creative genius within the wrestling industry and I would love to see him work as a storyline writer and producer after he retires. EDIT: I COULDN'T LEAVE IT AT 9. HE IS MY GOAT. 10"

[10.0] "If wrestling were an art form (and let's be real, it is), Chris Jericho would be its Picasso--only with more sparkly jackets and fewer confusing blue periods. The man is a walking Swiss Army knife of sports entertainment: wrestler, rockstar, author, podcaster, and possibly the inventor of time travel, given how he's managed to stay relevant for decades. Jericho isn't just "the best in the world at what he does"--he's the best at making sure you know he's the best. His mic skills? Shakespearean, if Shakespeare had ever threatened to put someone on The List. His in-ring repertoire? A blend of high-flying innovation and "How is he still doing that at his age? " His ability to reinvent himself? Legendary. He's gone from Lionheart to Y2J to a guy with a clipboard to Le Champion to a wizard (yes, really), and somehow, it all works."

Many people say he should retire, but he's done so many things for us, he has the right to retire whenever he wants. Even if the last thing he's doing is bad."
