[5.0] "Braun strowman was actually better than most big men in pro wrestling. He wasn't anything special but at least he didn't wrestle as bad as Kane and The great Khali. That presence he had from 2017-2018 was insane."

It always felt like they had to have 5 different people feuding with him at once and he basically just squashed everyone in the company that wasn't Lesnar or Reigns. I will say, he had a couple good matches in his later run when he was tagging with Ricochet but as a whole, I think he's one of my least favorite wrestlers to watch over the last decade. His promo work was also pretty weak as well, he was very much a 'catchphrase' guy and usually ran those into the ground."

He was okay enough to get by. He definitely understood how to play to the crowd. As time progressed, he became better in the ring and had more entertaining matches. Overall, a good career for a giant."

He always did his best and has been a perfectly solid hand, regardless how he has been booked in midcard and world title scene. Towards end of his career, he gave several hidden gem performances, he deserves way better from being released."

The "I'M NOT FINISHED WITH YOU" era where he just kicked Roman's ass every week was undeniably his peak form, and get these hands was a very tuff catchphrase. Solid big man who doesn't deserve all the hate he gets, although I'm not gonna argue that he would have done much better in the 80s."

Find him boring, think he's bad in ring, and he makes all his opponents look bad as well. Way overprotected and overpushed. I usually like big man wrestlers like him but for some reason I just don't like Braun."

He could have been a huge had they pulled the trigger on him when he was white hot in that initial 2017-2018 time frame when Braun was over like a rover. Instead, they waited too long to put the belt on him and by the time, it was too late. I mostly blame Vince for that more than Braun but as a performer, he's fine. He's a big guy, you can bring in to help get another big guy over."

At his peak, he felt like a true main event force. He remained a fan favorite and brought real excitement to big matches, even if his overall run didn't quite live up to the potential he once showed. Inconsistent booking and missed chances held him back from lasting dominance."

He was somebody really fun to watch around 2017 or so, had his world champion run and ended sacrificing the little bodyhealth he had to put over the new monsters that were going to fill his spot. I don't now if his release means the end of his career, but if it is, it was a good one."

He was fairly interesting in the whole feud with the Wyatt Family but outside of that, I always found him as really bland and just another big and strong guy to be on the roster to look big and strong."

He used to be a credible main even threat, and his feud with Roman led to some memorable RAW moments. He thrives in big man vs big man matches, and he has even had some good ones recently with Jacob Fatu and Bronson Reed. He'll never be a main eventer again, and he won't give you absolute classics, but he has always been very serviceable and adaptable depending on what is needed. His team with Ricochet was fun too."

While it's easy to look at Braun Strowman and instantly think that he can only showcase strength, he has speed and agility that somebody 50lbs lighter would struggle to keep up with. It's a shame that in recent years he has slowed down a lot. WWE definitely were late to putting a world championship on him but it's nice that he eventually got to win the big one against a huge star like Goldberg."

Comparing apples to apples in the big man role (don't want to judge a fish by how well it can climb a tree), he's solid. Character is a little bland, but it works for what he's being asked to do."

He's just an average everyday babyface. Which wouldn't be that big of an issue if he hadn't taken a huge drop off in the ring. I get he's been injured a few times but he tries to use his old style with his current body and it just doesn't work. If he seriously wants to keep wrestling while being somewhat entertaining he needs to transition his style to just a very slow, hard hitting giant. He can still put on ok matches but as of now I'd rather not see him on my screen, especially when he's for some reason being put into a feud with someone much better than him (Jacob Fatu)."

He's really untalented, from the way he executes his moves to the stagnant energy he brings to a large sum of his segments and promos. Sometimes, you see him going through his one or two lines and you can see him getting lost in his cues. It's a shame. Guys like Bronson Reed are VERY MUCH MISSED when you only have someone like Braun to lean on in this capacity. Someone with zero personality besides yelling like Shrek, nothing interesting to say, an obvious lack of awareness about what makes a wrestling match cool and interesting. Again, it's a shame. It's such a shame. Anybody who's watched wrestling for more than a couple of years could be brain-transplanted into Braun's body and accidentally have a Hall of Fame level career. One more time, it's a shame. It's a fucking shame."

I must admit, whilst he did have a great look, everything else was pretty lacking. For the first few years he was quite agile, but clearly a guy that big would've broken down quicker than most and nowadays he can't seem to catch a break when it comes to injuries. If booked well can be interesting, but he was really reduced to some limited and cartoonish roles a lot of times. When Braun debuted it felt like another big, strong, tall guy who cannot wrestle was in the company, and while he was in the Wyatt Family that seemed to be an accurate assessment, however as soon as he went solo in the brand split he felt like something so much more. That Braun Strowman felt like the next big thing. He had an incredible feud with Roman Reigns and then he happened to not get the final push over the edge. It makes no sense. He had everything that was needed of him to be a huge star and yet he wasn't. So much potential and yet it was all wasted. And then they decided to give him the Universal belt at WM36 and yet it still felt like a consolation prize for them messing up his push. And ever since that run he's just felt like an afterthought, bad train gimmick, bad booking, released, came back, same bad booking."

That's all there is to it. Not exciting in the ring, his matches are repetitive and uninnovative, his promos are uninvolving and watching him lift cars is no longer impressive. I don't even know if good writing could make him interesting. Just another Big Man whose moment, like so many others, was ruined by Vince's lousy writing."

Otherwise he's a very generic big man who doesn't do anything more impressive than others before him. The name "Braun Strowman" sounds like one of the made up names MST3k did for David Ryder in Space Mutiny "Big McLargehuge, Splint Chesthair, we put our faith in Blast Hardcheese". If his name was supposed to be an ironic nod to that I'd love it, however, it's not. Aside from being a lumbering and slow worker, he can't cut a promo and can't sell the script given to him. He sounds like he's reading cue cards. Then during the pandemic he thought it was a good idea to denigrate indie wrestlers by essentially telling them to pick themselves up by the bootstraps. Then Braun himself gets cut and suddenly he was all for the independent wrestler. Even though the only place that would give him the time of day was EC3's failed CYN promotion. Then he went back to WWE on the first thing smoking and has spent the majority of his time injured. I don't wish for that but he's not worth whatever they're paying him."

His acting and personality is closer to Snitsky, Lars, Heidenrich than it is to Paul Wight, Kane, Brodie Lee, or any other good giant personalities. If you're a main roster wrestler you're not afraid of him really, he's just annoying. They gave him literal choo choo noises during his matches trying to do anything to make him more exciting. In ring work isn't painful to watch but isn't very memorable either."

He was over once in his career and was disposed of like rubbish for Lesnar and Reigns, which I do think was unfair. Not ideally rubbish as a wrestler, but just not my cup of tea. Strowman is maybe the biggest what-if of the late 2010s. This dude was so over. I got into wrestling in early 2017, so Strowman was the first wrestler I was a superfan of since this dude was beating the shit out of everyone every Monday. Super fast, super tall, super muscular. A perfect Vince McMahon pick who probably could have main evented WrestleMania 34. When you think of Strowman's greatest matches, they are against people like Reigns, Lashley, and the 4-way at SS 2017, other big dudes that Vince likes. Peak Braun was a casulty to the Lesnar-Reigns centric booking of the early-mid 2018. He was over in 2019, but then they just threw him in the Andre battle royal. They finally gave him the Universal title 2 years too late, and then the Wyatt feud killed him dead. I think he works alright as a tag team guy but I do miss the days of "I'm not finished with you"-era Braun. When Triple H resigned him I thought he was due for a push but for now he's just a tall bald midcarder, and not even the tallest bald midcarder on the roster."

He then floundered for years doing little of note outside of winning a tag team title with a 10-year old, winning the ATGMBR, & The GRR. In 2020 in Reigns' absence WWE finally pulled the trigger on a world title run but it was 2 years too late, and he had one of the most underwhelming world title reigns in recent history and a feud with Wyatt which contributed to the death of his mystique. Braun could work. He showed intensity and agility that made him look like a legitimate threat in the ring. But after 2018 his matches became incredibly formulaic and he was mostly used in tag matches or squash matches. He had physical charisma but did not display much range on the mic as he relied on shouting catchphrases rather than anything else. He was best used as a hoss in multi-man matches like SS 2017."
