And he is easily one of the greatest talkers of all time. In a wrestling world that has prioritized show biz, flashy moves, and irony, Arn is something that so few are these days. Real. You believe the words coming out of Arn Anderson's mouth. He isn't a gimmick. He isn't "playing a character" like so many think they are today. He's the real deal. He'll hurt you to get what he wants and won't think twice about it. If he had a major singles run on top, he would easily be a 10."

His promos were incredible, fearful, and believable. Everything he touched turned to gold, and the Horsemen wouldn't have been as good without him. Arn Anderson is the man. In this case, I don't care about titles or anything else. He was a wrestler's wrestler."

Where he shone brightest was without a doubt out of the ring with a mic in his hand. Looking like a cuddly grandpa while cutting some fierce promos, it was a strange combination that really worked so well."

Starts off slow and calculated, then can land some really explosive moves out of nowhere. He is an expert in the ring and more often than not will put on the best match of the night. As far as his persona goes he can definitely cut a promo and in fact cut one of the best promos in WCW history in August 1997, but overall wish he didn't take the Four Horsemen stuff so seriously since it sort of rubbed off on its transient members the wrong way most of the time. I"

In the ring he had a power style and good charisma and promos although it wasn't as noticeable when he was connected to Flair. He also worked as an agent for many years in WWE after his competition career was over and now is a major force backstage in AEW."

Couple that with tremendous skills on the microphone, you'd always pay attention to what he said and he'd never need to raise his voice to get his point across."

Looked simultaneously credible as much as he looked like your good friend's badass uncle, connectivity with the average fan/person is unparalleled. It didn't matter who, when, where or why - you focused on Arn's material and gave him every ounce of your attention; heel or face he had you completely sucked in. A tag team icon, critical element in the War Games matches; if you needed credibility in the late 80's/early 90's, you looked to Arn Anderson. Outside of the ring he's as good as they come. A gift to the wrestling business. Underrated (his score should be an 11) There could never be enough praise for Double A."

[8.0] "Arn is one of the most underrated wrestlers out there. There's a reason for that- he made it look easy and natural. His matches are worth studying for psychology, especially tag teams, many of which can be considered definitive for the style. He was a very solid technician and I find myself getting some sort of pleasant surprise in all of his matches, which is to say I don't think there are too many "regular" matches out there for him- he tries something new every bout. I think he's most underrated on promos. He really delivers the goods every time, often as the rational, centered voice of the horsemen. Go back and check them out. Like his matches, they're almost all good. A founding member of *the* classic heel stable that's been imitated many times, Arn Anderson is the dad of one of your little league teammates, who seems normal but everyone knows he killed a guy a few years ago and got off on self defense, but maybe it kinda wasn't self defense, but maybe the guy had it coming so everyone in your town just rolls with it like nothing happened. He seems super regular from the outside, but inside lives a cold man comfortable with danger. His career was cut short but he's worked as an agent for big companies ever since, which I think goes to show how valuable a guy he is to the business. I'm guessing he's a good teacher because his promos and matches are illustrative of how to be effective yet simple. A hall of famer beyond any doubt. He's somewhere between an 8 and a 9. I'm picking 8 because of the shorter career, basic look, and lack of high profile positioning that wasn't next to Ric Flair. A worker, A talker, C- look. Would be a D for look but he made those glasses and his bald head iconic by just being great everywhere else. It's always great to see Arn on a show- he gives you something good every time."

He has a great resume of good matches and is one of the most overlooked wrestlers of his generation - when you think of his early 90's run which is very overlooked (as most of the era is). Shame Arn had to retire at an age where some others are reaching their prime now days, will always been remembered by me."

So I don't know why he was never pushed really. Maybe because he was Ric Flair's friend? He's also amazing at selling"

"One of the absolute greatest workers of his era, Anderson was a helleva promo & great worker in singles & tag teams. The World TV Title really meant something in the 80s thanks to Arn and guys like Dusty & Tully. Arn was a key component of the JCP roster that made the NWA so hot in the mid-80s.The 4 Horsemen really were groundbreaking, some of the original "cool heels" (not taking anything away from The Freebirds). His team with Tully, known in the WWF as The Brainbusters, and his earlier partnership with Ole Anderson would both absolutely be near the top of my list of all time great teams"

Had a great sense of ring psychology and the little things he'd do to put his heel status over was great to see. Also had surprisingly solid mic skills and could really hype up a match or cut a strongly worded promo. If he'd been in his prime today, he would have went much higher than he was"

He refused to ever spice things up and that's why you don't see hardly any recommended matches from his singles career. Still though, he had a fantastic look and as said, could cut a damn good promo. His DDT was also glorious."

He was no Rock or Austin but he could definitely talk. Surprised he never held a World Title somewhere but I guess being paired with Flair was to his determent there."

He was an excellent worker, and could cut a no-frills, no-nonsense promo better than anyone in the business in his time. You couldn't have had the Four Horsemen without Arn Anderson, and Ric Flair couldn't have been Ric Flair without Arn, either. If you can't appreciate Arn Anderson, you don't get wrestling ?  simple as that."

OMG, that's like fall on the ground funny. I'd expect him to be a character in a Bean or Steve Martin movie. But we were supposed to buy into it? Um... no sell. Decent, at best on the mat. Ok decent is a strong word, but he could sell and over sell when required. His offense was bit above pedestrian. Decent mic skills, although, you'd try not to chuckle thinking the guy was going to get in there with: Luger, Sting, Hawk, Animal. I mean him and Blanchard against the Road Warriors in Chi Town heat? Are you freakin' kiddin' me? I've been rewatching a lot of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew stuff. He was actually very good. I mean Ole carried him, but he was very effective. Adding a couple of points."

On top of that, he played his role perfectly, and was an absolutely amazing mic worker, always eloquent, logical and believable."

Unfortunately for him, in some ways, he was around at the same time as Flair and was content to sit in that large shadow rather than push for something more. Still, he is undoubtedly one of the best ever, from his utterly flawless psychology to his hard hitting offense, from his spectacular stooging and bumping to his gritty holds and tricks, from his down to earth yet threatening look to his absolutely unmatched promo ability, Arn had absolutely every tool a wrestler would ever need to be the greatest, except perhaps the ego to force his star to rise."

Probably most renowned for his tag team work with several partners, including Flair, Tully Blanchard and Ole Anderson, as well as an interesting and too-short-lived team with Larry Zbyszko. An integral part of the Four Horsemen and the '80s-'90s wrestling scene in general."

I'll always be a fan of Double A and the 4 Horsemen. A true pro - terrific in the ring, and under appreciated on the mic at a time before wrestlers could get away with what they say today - if he'd had come along 15 yrs later he would be an idol instead of just a legend."

Probably the most overlooked talker in the business, a man who didn't look like a pretty boy, and sure as hell didn't wrestle like one. He took care of business.
