[Moxley makes his way to the ring]

Eddie Kingston: "Get out of the ring, cut his music! Cut his music! Schiavone, get out of the ring!"

[The interviewer Tony Schiavone leaves the ring]

Eddie Kingston: "You think this is a game, Jon? You think this is a game? I'm gonna destroy you on Saturday, you understand that? On the 7th, I'm gonna ruin you. And I'm gonna take that championship, I'm gonna hand it to my mother, and I'm gonna tell her, 'Ma, the reason why you don't have a grandchild, is because of this! [points at Moxley's championship title] The reason why I didn't give you a daughter-in-law is because of this!' Because this is all that matters in our sport. No other championship means that much, only this championship, and you're holding it. So I gotta take you out, I had to sell out, I had to become everything I hated. It's too late for me Jon, you ain't saving nobody. And I'm taking that championship from you!"

[Moxley takes the microphone, crowd chants "Moxley"]

Jon Moxley: "They say 'be careful who you call your friends'. Me, I'd rather have four quarters than 100 pennies because the longer I've been in this business the more I learn that loyalty is a bitch. And I've been burned time and time again, but I never ever thought I would get burned by you, buddy. I was so happy for you man, I was so happy for you when you signed a contract--"

Eddie Kingston: [interjecting] "Who cares!? Who cares!? I don't care! I don't care!"

Jon Moxley: "Shut up! I'm trying to tell you."

[Kingston continues arguing and interjecting]

Jon Moxley: "I was happy for you. I was happy for your mother, whose dream it was--Yeah, your mother Ruthie--"

Eddie Kingston: [interrupting] "Don't you ever talk about my mother! Don't you ever!"

Jon Moxley: [yelling over the top of Kingston] "...whose kitchen table I sat at. Who I said grace with. Who I made a promise to, that I would look after you. [Kingston turns his back on Moxley] That I would always have your back. Not matter what trouble you caused for yourself, I made that promise to her. But I guess, I broke that promise, didn't I?

See I believe that the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room. And you've been real loud lately, Eddie, why is that? That's not you, you're not weak, so what's going on up here? [Moxley taps Kingston's head] I think I know what it is. After 18 years, you finally get your shot, this Saturday you get your shot, the shot you never thought you would get. Deep down in your heart, you know, you're gonna be in the ring with the AEW World Champion, the best wrestler on this planet right now, and you're gonna lose. [crowd cheers]

So it is a scary thought, I get it, maybe after 18 years, it turns out you didn't deserve it after all. The worst part of this Eddie, the worst part of this, the part of this that makes me sick, that puts my stomach in knots, you made a promise to your mother that you can't keep."

[Crowd cheers, Moxley and Kingston argue off-mic]

Eddie Kingston: "You better get ready, you better get ready! You better get ready to kill me! You better get ready to kill me! This is real! This is real! This is real!"

Jon Moxley: "I'll show you what's real and what's not."

Eddie Kingston: "Do it then!"

Jon Moxley: "I'll show you what's real and what's not!"

Eddie Kingston: "Do it then! I don't care about this show, do it then! Take me out! Go ahead! [points at Moxley's championship] That's mine!"

[Kingston angrily leaves the ring, crowd chants "Eddie"]

Eddie Kingston: [on the ramp] "That's mine!"

Jon Moxley: "This Saturday night, Eddie, at Full Gear [crowd cheers] you will find that when you're alone with nothing but your ego--and that is a lonely, lonely place--you will find that you are not the man you thought you were, and you will say the words, 'I quit'!"

[Moxley drops the mic, crowd cheers]

[10.0] "This promo exchange between two of the most believable promos in the history of wrestling had me genuinely rooting for Kingston to beat Moxley. Even to this day, this promo and really this entire feud is a big reason I always root for Kingston in every program and match he is in. When Kingston (hopefully) wins the AEW World Championship, I will be beyond elated. He deserves it more than most."

[10.0] "This felt so real. From the way they moved and talked they acted like no one was there (there was literally no one there but you know what I mean). This is an interaction you could have with your friends. With your family. This had me gasping I mean Moxley had balls bringing Eddies mother into the occasion. I loved how they incorporated real life elements into this promo and they brought up how they were friends. I loved Eddie intense emotion in this segment. I love how he breaks down as he tells Moxley what hes going to do with the belt when he gets it and I love how the emotion is real. It's not forced. It's not melodramatic. Simply perfect."

[10.0] "One of the best promos in the history of AEW and pro wrestling. For 7 minutes I forgot wrestling wasn't real and everytime I listen to this promo I have goosebumps. It's just perfect: they totally destroyed the rule of "I talk and then you talk" by screaming at each other, Kingston turning his back in Moxley and looking at the camera and the fans in attendance with a look on his face that send shivers down my spine and the line "You made a promise to your mother that you can't keep" was amazing with a crazy delivery by Moxley . All the things the said were very personal and deep, amazing stuff."

[8.0] "This was a good promo done by both men, really making their feud feel legitimate and real. However I found the ending lacking. It might be a bit short, but it had great escalation."

[10.0] "Really impressive, both side showed their characteristics and cooperated well. Moxley was the storyteller, using Psychological Tactics and showing his personal charm, while Eddie was the one that made all of this real and touching. Everybody knew that Kingston won't win the title, but the story between him and Moxley was really attractive. One of the best storyline in AEW, it will remain in the history of this promotion."

[10.0] "One of the best promos I've ever seen. So raw, it feels like a real argument between two real people, it feels disturbingly human and natural. The part at the end when Eddie screams 'this is real! ' gives me goosebumps. Absolutely amazing drama, and pro wrestling pontification at it's best."

[10.0] "This is my favorite promo in AEWs short history. You want to talk about wrestling being real, these two are as real as it gets. There is real emotion behind each and every word that shout at one another. This isnt some call-and-response promo, say a sentence and wait for the crowd to react, this is raw, uncut, pure intensity in one promo. This is how they should be. Absolutely a 10. Probably an 11 in my book."

[10.0] "Eddie's sell of Moxley getting personal completely makes this segment. The framing of Eddie with his back turned to Mox trying to keep it together as Mox dismantles Eddie's facade is brilliant television."
WeHateOkada wrote on 25.07.2022:
[10.0] "An instant all-time classic, to the point where writing a review of it feels redundant. Two of the greatest talkers in the business, unloading the full weight of well-told story onto each other. Real life details get blended in seamlessly, and the performances are utterly convincing throughout. This is a genuine masterpiece of a promo, succeeding in adding depth to the characters, upping both the stakes and intrigue of their upcoming match, and forming an iconic back-and-forth that ties these two men together, possibly forever. This is a landmark moment in both men's careers, especially Kingston's, acted to a tee and one of the best examples in modern wrestling of people nailing character work in a way that feels visceral and believable. Simply superb."
