[10.0] "Very fun promotion to watch. I'm very fresh to their shows & I'm already having a good time watching. Emi Sakura is a great entertainer & a genius promoter. Definitely worth the time to watch & I am looking forward to watching more ChocoPro."
[2.0] "I don't get the high grades here. This is probably the weakest Joshi company ever in existence. I don't get why this promotion is given so much praise. It's just kind of a hokey joke promotion that is considered amazing. It's very odd how Emi Sakura was responsible for Ice Ribbon but most of the roster wouldn't even make it on dark matches for that company. I'm an Emi Sakura defender. She's done a lot for Japanese women's wrestling but this company isn't it. It could've been cool. Have another great Joshi promotion in a competitive and strongly built time in women's wrestling but most of the competitors are lacking in the skills to put on a great match and those that can would be better off in another company that uses them to their full potentials."
[10.0] "This company makes me so nostalgic from back when I use to just throw a blanket on the floor and wrestle my friends on it. I love how creative this promotion is"
[7.0] "I started watching ChocoPro / GatohMove this year and I can honestly say they have been nothing less than impressive. It's free to watch and you get consistently good professional wrestling from this promotion. A very creative promotion that uses odd venues to add charm and identity to it. A very silly promotion that any hardcore wrestling fan should give a try. [***3/4]"
[10.0] "It's free on youtube and it has incredible performers. It has a unique setting and style with a lot of charm. It has in-ring shows they upload for free as well if you can't into the Ichigaya mat wrestling shows. It's goofy and beautiful and has something for everyone"
[6.0] "I am not the target audience, but I have a lot of respect for how off-the-wall it is, as well as how the unique locations force wrestlers to be creative and often-times hyper controlled with their movements. I can't ever see myself "getting into" ChocoPro but I love to be a tourist of it every now and then."
[4.0] "There are great workers in their shows, but I can't like it. This is very difficult to convey credibility. I know in Japan there are more stupid things with DDT, BBW and other Promotions, but it is done with a real ring or in more credible scenarios. A chocolate-colored mattress in a tiny room makes it look very stupid and childish. It has its audience, but it's not for me. Mei Suruga and Emi Sakura are amazing. But mostly Mei makes me want to watch her matches but that doesn't happen in ChocoPro because of the setting. When your shows are held with a ring, I watch it with great pleasure."
[9.0] "Chocopro is truly a ligntning-in-a-bottle promotion, especially in the COVID era, that made me a fan of its unique presentation with its given limitations and a color cast of young new talents. It's the embodiment of "Just when they think they got the answers, I change the questions"."
[9.0] "I've been watching through the entirety of what is available on their YouTube channel, starting with season 1. I'm currently about halfway through season 11 and I can safely say that Gatoh Move/Chocopro is one of the great unsung promotions in wrestling. Yes, they don't normally utilize a ring and yes, this means they have certain limitations. But those limitations help bring about some of the absolute best characters and stories you will find anywhere in wrestling. No matter if you have a show where they bring in semi-regulars like Chris Brookes or Kaori Yoneyama or some of the terrific home grown talent such as the wonderful Mei Suruga, Baliyan Akki, or Chie Koishikawa, the shows are always an absolute blast. And the best part is is that you can catch it all for free on YouTube as they operate on donations. If you're looking to see what can be done outside of the normal confines of Pro Wrestling, give this promotion a chance. Go into it with an open mind and you won't be disappointed."
[10.0] "Proof that limitations encourage creativity if ever I saw it. After watching Gatoh Move, it seems like all my assumptions about what wrestling is "supposed to be" have been shown the door. I would have thought that an in-person, reacting audience at the very least is core to wrestling's appeal, but after watching ChocoPro I'm not so sure. It feels like all the unnecessary faff in wrestling has been removed, and only what's actually important remains. Having a laugh, it turns out. Great promotion"
[10.0] "Gatoh Move/Chocopro is one of my favourite promotions because it has something for everyone. Their main shows are unique and memorable, featuring a great mix of wrestling stretching across the whole spectrum of types. You get comedy wrestling, brutal brawls, high flying displays, and technical showcases across a huge variety of matches. If wrestling on a mat isn't your thing, they run a more traditional in-ring show every month for Gatoh Move which is also all free. No other promotion can really boast of having intensely emotional storytelling like Lulu Pencil vs Chris Brookes, or hilarious comedy with Ryo Mizunami vs Mei, or amazing in-ring displays like Mei vs Yunamon from Phoenix Rises (one of my favourite wars from 2022). There are so many incredible matches, with such a huge variety of types, and it's all available for free. Have a look at some of their more notable events and see if there's something for you."
[10.0] "They deliver FREE episodes every week that are worth the watch. The pure ingenuity from these wrestlers and how they make the most out of their environment is also awesome."
[8.0] "A very creative promotion, with a limited budget. Its usual local, in Ichigaya, kinda forces wrestlers to be entertaining without the overused spots that used ropes and posts. It causes wrestlers to do more roll-up moves or standing strikes, as well as letting them focus on the storytelling through the fight itself. The booking sometimes can be a little stale lately, because it's very likely that the more senior wrestler will defeat the junior wrestler but, at least, the fight itself will be very good."
[3.0] "I just don't understand the appeal of this promotion. Maybe its a cultural thing, but I don't even think it qualifies as wrestling. The lack of a ring makes all the competitiors (as talented as they are) appear to be wrestling in the living room while their parents are away."
[6.0] "Once upon a time, it was a worthy watch company. But now it doesnt care about It's poor booking system. Didn't try to improve a slight. So decreasing ratings."
[10.0] "I get more pure enjoyment from Gatoh Move and ChocoPro than almost anything else. Stalwart friend through the pandemic, with fun weekly shows and a really nice community around it. The wrestling is also terrific. The aesthetics of chocopro, and Ichigaya, put a lot of people off, but look past it (or embrace it) and you'll see great technical wrestling, and wrestlers who, due to the space and format, use the space in really creative and exciting ways."
[5.0] "It's onbviously a promotion directed to a specific target audience that may like their product, this promotion is not precisely bad but the ratings are extremely exagerated, is not on the level of promotions like Stardom, Seadlinnng, Ice Ribbon, but somehow they have almost the same rating, but well, that's democracy for you."
[9.0] "If you can become a great wrestler in the walls of a tiny office and a mat, it's proof you can succeed anywhere. Some of the best wrestlers cut their teeth under Emi Sakura's training inside Ichigaya Chocolate Square and Chocopro is the latest iteration of her stint as a promoter. The chaos and the surprisingly fantastic wrestlers has led to a cult following that kept Gatoh Move alive through their toughest days. Some won't like it but it's free and easily accessible which not a lot of joshi can say."
[8.0] "It's fun, creative, unconventional and different. That means it's not for everyone, but those who like it tend to love it. I don't watch Gatoh Move/Chocopro very often, but it's unique and usually fun for the most part. The Janken tournaments are my favorite parts."
[0.0] "I really don't get this. I tried watching it a few times, but watching more than an hour of Gatoh Move/ChocoPro seems like torture to me. I still did it out of morbid curiosity as to why people are interested in this little YouTube Show. And I still don't get it, hell, I might get it even less than before. It's just women (and a few men) with ok-ish ring skills and terrible "comedy" gimmicks wrestling in an apartment with no ring and no fans. It's extremely weird and borders on non-wrestling IMO."
[4.0] "I don't like their recent work, but I admire the effort put into creating ChocoPro program and the creativity of Emi Sakura. Their pre-pandemics shows were quite fun, especially all these held on a real ring. Girls really lacked the experience and skills, but it was a very good learning project for all these young newcomers. We'll see what the future brings. This promotion has some potential."
[7.0] "The promotion is very good, I like the product and I enjoy most of the shows but I don't understand a full 10 for Gatoh Move. They have a big problem in terms of matches length, and the product is not adaptable to so much shows. They need to put less shows and to regulate the matches length, their two biggest problems."
[10.0] "I suspect that anyone that regularly watches Gatoh Move would say it's their favorite promotion. It's not for everyone (though I encourage everyone to give it a try) but I think if it clicks with you then it's hard not to become a a big fan of all the characters and action."
[9.0] "Gatoh Move is filled with fun wrestlers, solid matches, and most importantly, good vibes. I'm so glad I started watching this promotion, and I can't wait to see all the wrestlers continue to improve over the years!"
[10.0] "The most enjoyable company in the world, as simple as that. The shows in the Ichigaya Chocolate Hiroba have always been great, as well as their tour shows, but the pandemic made Emi Sakura shake some things up, creating Chocopro, a series of shows in the Ichigaya Square with no people, under the "No Paywall" banner on youtube, which means you can watch their shows for free (you can donate them on yt tho) which has been a highlight of 2020, creating a platform for Gatoh Move in a time when no other company was doing any shows at all; and it definitely has been a huge success, probably the most fun I've ever had watching wrestling, with interesting characters, stories, innovative spots, great guests like Masato Tanaka, Minoru Suzuki or Tsubasa Kuragaki, other regulars like Chris Brookes, Ryo Mizunami or Antonio Honda, and of course, great wrestling. God bless Emi Sakura."
[10.0] "The most soulful wrestling federation on the planet. There aren't any people here you don't want to root for - everyone is just great. A sincere, homely atmosphere, as if they were your brothers and sisters. I've known about Gatoh Move for a long time, but ChocoPro just won me over. I look forward to every episode with great anticipation! 2020 was a terrible year, I don't think I need to say it too much, but something came along that I won't forget for the rest of my life - ChocoPro. Thank you, all those involved in the life of ChocoPro-Gatoh Move - You're very, very great people."
[10.0] "All due to a little bit of Emi Sakura getting some American TV exposure and a global pandemic happening, this promotion went from being just another promotion that only real Japanese wrestling diehards knew about to being an entertaining accessible promotion that is growing its audience at a good rate due to the start of ChocoPro during the current pandemic. Their shows are digestible, fun/entertaining, have intriguing characters, quite good wrestling, as well as showcase the next generation for (mostly) joshi wrestlers and have a really really good fan interaction, mainly due to Baliyan Akki being able to speak to an English audience. For me, their audience interaction really helps my vote"
[7.0] "I have to give credit to Emi Sakura for her creativity in coming up with new ideas in pro-wrestling. The whole ChocoPro thing is not merely ingenious, but allowed her promotion to become relevant at a time when everybody else was forced to stop or at least dial down things a lot. And she did this on a minuscule budget and without even a wrestling ring. Let's how long before somebody else nicks the idea. On the other side there's far too much silliness going on in her shows, and even great talent can only do so much with an old mat and a couple of windows. Great idea but a sort of rough diamond."
[10.0] "Constant fun with infectious Tom and Jerry and family like tones. A good time. Vert enjoyable matches, one of my favorite promotions currently"
[10.0] "The most fun promotion in professional wrestling today. Every member of the Gatoh Move family is extremely likeable and the atmosphere in Ichigaya is always comfy"
[9.0] "if you don't like japanese comedy wrestling don't watch this, go and watch BJW or something this isn't for you for me, it's great. the alien spaceship deathmatch was a thing of beauty."
[5.0] "I'm shocked by some of these ratings. Gatoh is fun, but there are a lot of comedy promotions. I don't see what makes Gatoh different. Admittedly, comedy wrestling is not really my thing; that said, I don't think Gatoh is a top tier promotion. They're doing their thing and I admire them for it, but it is a very niche promotion."
[9.0] "Gatoh Move is one of the most fun promotions in the world with some of the best talent in joshi today with Emi Sakura, Riho, and Mei Suruga especially. People come from other promotions to work their shows because everyone loves Gatoh Move. Also, the production values comment another person made is very weird. I watch them on a 55" HD TV and they look exactly as good as everyone else does."
[10.0] ""Gatoh Move Pro Wrestling seems like it's a bunch of wrestlers messing around" and it is. I'm not gonna lie but that's what makes it good. It's goofy, It's serious It's Whatever It's Whatever It Wants To Be But It's Enjoyable. Sure production could be better and it's improving. It doesn't have a on demand service but at the time of writing they're releasing at least 3 matches a week to youtube. It may look like they've placed a mat in a bar but it suits them. In a world where companies strive to be the same, gatoh truly is one of the few unique promotions running today. And the best thing about it to me is the talent enjoy working there to the the degree that wrestlers from bigger promotions come to it last year alone saw wrestlers come from ddt, oz academy, agz, tjpw & stardom just to name a few. I get that 1st impressions are everything but please understand that if you're looking for a serious promotion look elsewhere. If you're looking for something that can change course in a second and enjoy it please give gatoh a try."
[10.0] "Gatoh Move is a lot of things. Gatoh Move is a tiny Japanese indie novelty where people wrestle on gym mats in a tiny room that opens directly onto the street. Gatoh Move is a multinational innovator that you can get shitfaced and watch whilst rock bands play in the Bangkok venue at the same time. Gatoh Move is those women who wrestle on HEAT-UP shows a lot. Gatoh Move is an idol group. Gatoh Move is a tight-knit group of friends, students and collaborators formed over the majority of Emi Sakura's career, some of whom she's known since their childhood, and who exude the atmosphere of a close family so strongly that it's impossible not to fall in love with them. Gatoh Move is a perfect watch every time they make tape. Gatoh Move is everything that's fun about wrestling. Gatoh Move makes the world a better place by existing. Gatoh Move is a 10. 0 as far as this review's concerned. Gatoh Move is love. Gatoh Move is not paying me for this."
