Oh Jim, this is AEW, whats psychology? Anyway, a lot of this was quite good in terms of this style of tag wrestling. They did do more storytelling than usual even if I dont particularly care about their friendship. Some nice tag team sequences and stuff. The crowd was there for it so that was good. As far as the kickout at 1 here, I still hate it like I always do but I could at least sort of understand it. Kenny feels how they're disrespecting him and Ibushi or whatever but that wasn't explained very well to the audience. So yeah, as far as Bucks matches go, this was good |

The match follows a very similar formula to the one with Kota Ibushi, although here the action is a little sharper and more precise, albeit slightly less compelling. Ultimately, it feels considerably less dramatic than that Golden Lovers match and, as a result, lacks some of the unpredictability and authenticity of what they had previously achieved. |

However, the match was prevented from reaching the 5 star tier by the visible sloppiness of a major high-spot--the attempted Indytaker on the ramp--and the broadcast team's refusal to acknowledge the miscue, which detracted from the realism of an otherwise perfect emotional journey. |

Truly amazing. So excited to see where they go from here with this story. |

God, I could watch all four of these guys wrestle all the time there's so much chemistry, history, and storybeats in every pairing. Even in just Matt and Nick themselves, the way Matt is more passionate/heated while Nick is more focused is such an excellent dynamic. It created a different energy whenever anybody tagged in and out. Beautiful tag team wrestling. ****3/4 |
