Guter Sprachflow, gute Rhetorik, Mimik, Körpersprache - man nimmt ihm das alles ab und dann sagt er "First and last MJF" und genau das ist er. Natürlich sind da Anleihen dabei, aber keine, die sich abgekupfert anfühlen. So viel zu seinen Qualitäten, denn die Promo ist natürlich nahezu vollständig von EC3 abgekupfert, der mit EC3 2015 und einem ähnlichen Setting ähnlich Eigenwerbung betrieben hatte. Dass AEW die Heel/Face-Aufteilung mal liegen lässt, finde ich ja generell okay und so hält Heel MJF für mich eine klare Face-Promo, da er mir in manchen Teilen halt komplett aus dem Herzen spricht und eine Dinge anspricht, die ich wirklich Woche für Woche problematisch finde und die dafür sorgen, dass ich AEW bisher keine guten Noten für die Shows verteilen konnte, denn irgendwas ist immer dabei, was ich so in einer Mainstream Wrestling-Show nicht sehen möchte. Könnte ein starkes Gimmick werden, wenn er da nun ernst machen darf. Dass gerade Moxley sein Ziel ist, ist natürlich dem Titel geschuldet, aber da gibt es doch passendere Opfer für seine Worte. Und so sind es ein paar Makel, aber dennoch hat er rasiert und den besten Part der Show geliefert. PS: Wenn das zu einer Story mit EC3 führt, gibt es den letzten Punkt auch noch. |

Trump) überzeugen. Sie läutet die Fehde zwischen Moxley und MJF ein und gleichzeitig spricht MJF vieles an, was viele Kritiker AEW vorwerfen. Eine Rede die so wahrscheinlich auch sehr vielen Kritikern gefallen haben dürfte. Insgesamt war dieses Segment für mich eines der besten seit Bestehen von AEW und daher gibt es klare 10 Punkte. |

CM Punk doing a worked shoot sat cross-legged on the entrance ramp and it fit the material way better. Some of the insider stuff ("flip flop and fly" and "brainwashed into thinking that's what good wrestling is") was way too inside, and while, "yeah, he's a heel, he's supposed to say things you don't like, " there are lines that are effective heat and then there are lines that just make the whole show look stupid. MJF has great delivery and there were some great lines in here, so I can't dock this too much. But I don't know, can you just cut a promo on the guy instead of on the company? You're indiscriminately spraying bullets at everyone in a way that like, sure, you're a delusional heel, but you're also coming real close to causing damage. |

MJF is perfect, every word is clear-cut, every mannerism is poignant, every change in tone or intensity is calculated to achieve the goal of delivering a brilliant heel promo. What makes it so good is the fact that it reaches everyone, from smart fans to casuals like me, who can just see the talent oozing out of this guy the same way it dripped out of The Rock or John Cena 10-20 years ago. 25 years from now he is 49, still in the all-important advertising demographics, and if his ass can cash even a small number of the checks that his mouth signs, he will be an industry-defining, charismatic superstar looking back at a career not unlike that of someone like Ric Flair. He's still only 24 years old and clearly the most consistent and most intense wrestling character in US wrestling today. |
