MJF: "Thank you, thank you!

I would like to thank Mr. Tony Khan for giving me the opportunity to speak to you marks--people! I meant people! Now, let's be honest with ourselves, we all know wrestling fans aren't all that bright, but fortunately for you I've been given an exorbinant amount of time here tonight to force-feed you all with knowledge like a five-year-old being fed mac-and-cheese. [Eine Assistentin unterbricht MJF.] Okay, honey, I'll read off the sheet. Can you just do the world a favor? Give me a little smile, huh.. huh..? You look so much prettier when you do that, honey, thank you so much.

Okay, speech time, speech time... [Buhrufe] Shh, please! I love you, too.

Before I start this speech, I would like implore you, our AEW fans -- who we are so grateful for -- please use the following hashtags: #MJF2020 and #NotMyChampion. You'll find out in a moment's time, so please bear with me, thank you. ["You suck"]

Right now, I'm sure you people are shocked to see me here on Dynamite, two weeks in a row. Yeah, not on the sidelines, you know, with the bench warmers. You doin' great by the way, guys, proud o' you! Proud o' you! Now I'm sure you're asking yourself, 'Huh, MJF, that's a really good point! Why does that always happen to you?' I'll tell you. The reason I'm never spotlighted two weeks in a row is because a certain individual is afraid of being upstaged.. two weeks.. in a row. And that is why it is time for a change in leadership around here. Change. It's a powerful word I just used. I remember when this company first started, I saw men calling for change. One man in particular called for a Paradigm Shift. He said he wanted 'out' with the old and 'in' with the new. Well, I don't know about you people, but a guy on top of the card who gets to do whatever he wants, say whatever he wants and wrestle whoever he wants, simply because he came from the place of 'Titans', isn't new. That's old hat, BROTHER! This quickly went from being a revolution and has as unfortunately turned into a dictatorship. And that is why Jon Moxley is not my champion. [Buhrufe]

Now, hold on, people. I cannot tell a lie, absolutely! I will not stand here and pretend that Jon Moxley isn't one of the greatest wrestlers our great sport has ever seen. HOWEVER, I feel it's high time that we as a society have an honest discussion about all the negative side effects that have occurred ever since the Moxley reign has started. Wrestling: it's on the marquee, but, people, where is it? All I see is a bunch of great wrestlers having to come out here and perform gymnastics, flip-flop-and-fly and/or almost die in an attempt to make you, the viewers at home, think they're good at their jobs!?! That's just wrong. But I don't blame you, AEW fans. You see, you have been brainwashed into thinking that that is what good professional wrestling is. And that brainwashing starts all the way at the tippy top. And that is why, JONATHAN, a WORLD CHAMPION is supposed to lead by example. He's not supposed to let his roster mates come out here and play-wrestle and he's damn sure not supposed to come out here and cosplay as a specific wrestler, and that's a STONE COLD fact.

I don't have to play wrestler, because I am one. I'm undefeated. I am the first and last MJF. You know what I'm not though, ladies and gentlemen? I'm not a media analyst. And yet everybody wants to pretend to be, because everybody wants to talk about ratings. And that's why we treat Dictator Jon so well, right? Because of his name value, right? Because where on Earth would the numbers lie without Dictator Jon, right? ... Wrong! You know who, on average, happens to draw better numbers, minute for minute, than your Dictator Jon? Yours truly! Oh, oh, you didn't know that, did you? That's because Dictator Jon doesn't want you to. See, according to Dictator Jon, I'm not on his level, why should he have to deal with the likes of me? And to that I say: How dare you?

AEW is meant to be the land of opportunity and you've squandered that. And that is why it's time for a new guard around here. 'cause the old guard has been running the show on this planet for centuries and look where it's gotten us, people. War, famine, disease, our Earth is dying and so are morals, but yet here we are with Jon Moxley running the old guard and our infrastructure is falling and falling fast. Well, I'm here to tell you people that I can catch this company, throw it on my back and sprint this brand up the steep terrain to the very top because MY TALENT OUTWEIGHS YOUR TENURE, JON! I AM AEW! I BLEED BLACK-WHITE-AND-GOLD! I'M THE GUY WHO'S GONNA BE LEADING THIS COMPANY FOR THE NEXT TWENTY-FIVE YEARS! ... Do the math and grab a calculator. And that is why I'm making a promise to you that I will not stop until we go from happily glad-handing each other for being the 'alternative' and TRANSFORM THIS BRAND INTO THE PINNACLE OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! [Vereinzelter Applaus]

JON MOXLEY, I AM CHALLENGING YOU FOR YOUR WORLD TITLE AND I AM ANNOUNCING MY CANDIDACY AS THE AEW WORLD CHAMPION! I'LL SEE YOU AT ALL OUT, JON! WE DESERVE BETTER!"

Without a crowd, he couldn't really play off anything and it made it boring to watch a second time. That's fine though. He's MJF. It wasn't my cup of tea also though. It just wasn't delivered well enough to be a 9 or a 10."

He was sowing the seeds for many months later when he would form The Pinnacle with FTR and Shawn Spears, plus it worked in the immediate time frame as well, when he was challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title."

This guy is a born natural and will be one of the biggest superstars of the next decade. Easily. AEW made such a shrewd move signing him, and focusing their product on him. He will carry them as far as they? re willing to let him. Almost limitless potential"

[6.0] "Okay, I'll be the bad guy. The setup was way too contrived for my liking with the electoral campaign facade, which clashed with the "worked shoot" content badly ?  CM Punk doing a worked shoot sat cross-legged on the entrance ramp and it fit the material way better. Some of the insider stuff ("flip flop and fly" and "brainwashed into thinking that's what good wrestling is") was way too inside, and while, "yeah, he's a heel, he's supposed to say things you don't like, " there are lines that are effective heat and then there are lines that just make the whole show look stupid. MJF has great delivery and there were some great lines in here, so I can't dock this too much. But I don't know, can you just cut a promo on the guy instead of on the company? You're indiscriminately spraying bullets at everyone in a way that like, sure, you're a delusional heel, but you're also coming real close to causing damage."

[10.0] "Absolutely fantastic heel promo. MJF is perfect, every word is clear-cut, every mannerism is poignant, every change in tone or intensity is calculated to achieve the goal of delivering a brilliant heel promo. What makes it so good is the fact that it reaches everyone, from smart fans to casuals like me, who can just see the talent oozing out of this guy the same way it dripped out of The Rock or John Cena 10-20 years ago. 25 years from now he is 49, still in the all-important advertising demographics, and if his ass can cash even a small number of the checks that his mouth signs, he will be an industry-defining, charismatic superstar looking back at a career not unlike that of someone like Ric Flair. He's still only 24 years old and clearly the most consistent and most intense wrestling character in US wrestling today."
