They both worked the brawling style, so a lot of their stuff came off as sloppy, which I personally loved because to me that made their matches more realistic, because a real fight is gonna look that way 90% of the time. They could also pull off the wild, unpredictable, more hardcore stuff too in matches, and make it entertaining. Which translated to many memorable feuds and matches: Harlem Heat, The Midnight Rockers, The Steiners, and The Blue Bloods come to mind right off hand. I thought their promo ability was unique because Knobs was the loud, over the top one of the two while sags was normally more serious and to the point. They were also one of a handful of teams that could work both babyface and heel and do it successfully. Also, the only team I can ever remember whose signature move, Pity City, was Knobs rubbing their opponents face in Sags armpit. |

Some of the WWF stuff is deeply regrettable, some of the latter WCW stuff is almost disturbingly awful but buried in all of that is some real gems. Sags could surprise you with just how good he could be at times and Knobbs gets nods for being able to fling around all of that excess baggage with relative ease. Glimmers of excellence propel their rating but still, 5.25 rounded down (because the bad stuff is reeeeaally baaaaad). |

Unfortunately this library cannot be accessed by mere mortals like me, so all I am left with is watching two dorks using the same toilet humor that could entertain a not particularly bright six year old and having one bad forgettable "hardcore" match after another. A truly horrible tag team, but two extra points for their longevity. And minus one point because that logetivity is chiefly due to these two being friend with another character featured in the Great Lost Pro-Wrestling Matches Library, the one and only Hulk Hogan. |

Im Ring waren sie vor Allem gute Brawler, die sich für keine Materialschlacht zu Schade waren. Natürlich waren ihre Matches eher eindimensional und nicht besonders gut aber sie waren eigentlich nie langweilig und auf einem annehmbaren Niveau. Zudem waren sie als Tag Team besser als alleine, da sie eine gute Chemie hatten und eingespielt waren. Im Ring bekommen sie daher 5 Punkte. Am Mic absolut intensiv aber die Promos waren manchmal ein bisschen zu viel Schreierei. Dennoch absolut in Ordnung und daher 6 Punkte. Was das Charisma angeht, waren sie gut. Sie zogen Reaktionen und verkörperten ihr Gimmick wirklich gut. Was man jedoch sagen muss: Sie waren nicht wirklich Heel oder Face. Sie wurden immer einfach nur als die Verrückten wahrgenommen, ohne große Dynamik. Insgesamt waren die Nasty Boys ein absolut solides Tag Team. |

Und auch ihr Push war nicht vollkommen unverdient. Denn sie konnten ja wirklich etwas. Als Team und vor allem, mit ihrem legendären Manager Jimmy Hart, natürlich überragend. Eben einfach so richtig "nasty" (fies, gemein). Egal gegen welchen Gegner, selbst ohne Betrug waren beide immer eine echte Herausforderung. Beide ergänzten sich auch grandios ... dh. im Unterschied z. B. zur Legion of Doom oder der Hart Foundation, wo immer einer irgendwie besser war als der andere, immer einer den anderen mehr oder weniger zu tragen und über die Runden zu retten hatte. Jedenfalls zu recht mehrmals Tag - Team Champions. Schade, das man von beiden überhaupt nichts mehr hört bzw. sieht, denn beide leben ja noch. Wünsche mir bei jeder Gimmick Battle Royal ihr kleines Comeback. ^^ |
