[0.0] "David sadly is bad for different reasons, how to start his career at WCW, we are in the same company as his father and the most unfortunate being the son of Ric Flair. I was only there for being Ric's son, but he was not talented, nor pleasant to see, or charismatic. Because of his skills, someone else would be in the backstage, but I emphasize to be a Flair."
[1.0] "It doesn't get much more nepo than this. Brought into the TV spotlight years before he was ready just for the nWo/WCW storyline, he couldn't act, wasn't charismatic, couldn't cut a promo, couldn't sell. I honestly feel a bit bad for him with the pressure being put on him given his surname."
[1.0] "I kinda feel bad for David Flair in general, He was never really given a chance to be a professional wrestler. Hell! He didn't even want to become a pro wrestler in the first place. He was just thrown on TV for namesake. A literal nepotism baby if you will. His in-ring work is atrocious. I mean beyond compression. He can't sell like a human, his moves are horribly done, he botches and slips a lot. He forgets spots. He has no charisma. I mean good gracious, why put him on TV and give him a streak! None of his matches have gone over 5 minutes that I have seen. He isn't given matches on Saturday Night either to try and improve! I'm still watching WCW programming from 1999. He's still young and can learn but as of right now. Good god he's bad."
[0.0] "First and foremost, if you're the son of one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, you either have to be very good or there's no point in even attempting to get into the wrestling business. David Flair, was not good at all, not even remotely close to being considered average either. The only thing he seemed to inherit from his father, was his surname. Enough about his dad though, David Flair just wasn't ready to be put on national TV. I'm not sure how long he had been training for before he debuted on WCW, but he clearly needed a good 2-3 years developing on the indies. If his sole purpose was to develop a storyline, then it's no problem having him in WCW for a Nitro or two, but having him wrestle? Nah. The guy wasn't ready and it showed. Whatever ability he had as a professional wrestler was gone right away, as he was rushed into it and became a laughing stock due to how green he was. Whoever was booking his stuff clearly didn't care about him, so it's a shame to see somebody who had even a little bit of potential be wasted right away. But looking back at it, he just didn't appear to be made for the wrestling business. If he had joined a few years later and spent some time in OVW then it might be a different story."
[0.0] "David Flair is, without a doubt, the worst wrestler to ever get a sustained push in any major U.S. company. I mean, the guy had nothing going for him. No charisma, no athleticism, and the kind of awkward energy that makes you uncomfortable just watching. He didnt do a single thing right in the ring, and honestly, it was hard not to feel bad for him. Every time he stumbled through a match, it was like watching someone who just never finished wrestling school. To give him anything more than a 0 is a slap in the face to anyone whos actually put in the work to be a wrestler. The fact that WCW kept pushing him is just a testament to how far nepotism will take you."
[0.0] "Useless, useless twat, who should never have been in the ring and should never have held the WCW US title. An embarrassment in every possible way. The only good thing from David Flair was that he was the keyfabe reason we got Daffeny and she was great."
[0.0] "I know this was part of an era where Ric Flair was beyond delirious and going full koo-koo of his head, acting all weird and thinking he was atop of the world as an authority with his decisions, but the fact that he was booked to award the United States Championship to David because he "beat" Kevin Nash the week prior and saying he is rightfully a champion is crazy, and even nonsensical for Ric Flair's standards. Mean Gene even said it best in the ring: "it is nepotism at worst". To make things worst, technicians like El Dandy, Bobby Eaton, Benoit and Malenko all lost to his lame ass! We saw how awfully bad David was earlier that year when he was in that impromptu match against Bischoff when he sold those punches like a submissive boyfriend, and was hesitant to sell that Drop Toe Hold. I know we all crap on Erik Watts, but at least, the years passed by and he became a decent worker at best. David was bad as time went on, because of either two things: he either couldn't comprehend how the business worked, or either he surfed on the weight of his last name in a company where his father was one of the big brains. I'll mercifully skip his time with Crowbar and Daffney because even acting as a psycho didn't help. Thankfully, WWF didn't even wanted to try and send his down the river, and by that point, even Ric himself opened his eyes about his sons lack of competence."
[1.0] "Before anyone feels bad for David Flair, just know that he dated Stacy Keibler in her prime. Anyways, the word "nepo baby" gets thrown around far too carelessly by pro wrestling fans, but David Flair was the epitome of a nepo hire. He is likely the absolute worst wrestler of of the WCW/WWF/ECW era. Even Karl Malone and Dennis Rodman were better than him. Anyways, I'll give David 1 point for the entertainment he provided as his lack of facial expressions during wrestling matches were always great unintentional comedy."
[0.0] "David couldn't wrestle, couldn't talk, and was pushed into a ton of storylines just because of his last name. Somebody with this little talent for wrestling just doesn't belong on TV, and in WCW he actually got pushed at times. As big a nepotism baby as you'll ever see in any industry."
[1.0] "The only thing that stood out about David Flair was the crazy character that Vince Russo gave him. Outside of that, he is one of the biggest examples of nepotism in wrestling, as he wasn't good at any aspect of wrestling, and his look was terrible as he looked like your average young male. He had zero business winning the US title, much less pinning legends like Benoit and Malenko during his reign."
[2.0] "Never had it. Too gawky and was reduced to garbage matches in WCW's dying days which actually got him over with some people. Being the Son of a legendary wrestler isn't easy most of the time."
[2.0] "I guess his branch of the family tree fell off. HE obviously never had the same credentials of his father who is undoubtedly one of the greatest, if not THE greatest of all time. And I think, in the grand scheme of things, that may have been his downfall. He had too much pressure put on him to be just as successful as his old man. And I don't think that David Flair is a bad guy at all. He's probably a very nice guy. He just was unlucky, having all of this pressure on him to be a carbon copy of his dad."
[1.0] "David Flair was simply not cut out for the wrestling business. It was a classic case of a guy with a famous father in the business that the promotion thought they could use to further stories, then deluded themselves into thinking he could wrestle. He diminished everything he was involved in, his brightest moment was when he got whipped by Hulk Hogan and that was really for what it meant for Ric Flair, rather than David."
[0.0] "David was TRASH. Every single thing that his father brought to the table he lacked all of it. He is one of the WORST 2nd generation wrestlers of all time."
[0.0] "The most cringy angles in the dying days of WCW unfortunately involved this guy. Considering he's the son of someone like Ric Flair, you would at least expect some charisma or good promo skills but he had absolutely none. This guy didn't even have enough in ring skills to have a decent match. One of the worst ideas of WCW was to bring in this guy because of his daddy, but i wish they hadn't cuz he was truly the worst."
[4.0] "I'm kind of surprised David Flair has so many 0 ratings. I mean, I get that he was not really good & he was certainly not the second coming of his father, but I don't think he was worthless. When he turned into the crazy character with Daffney & started harassing Reid & Ashley, I thought it was a pretty interesting character arc."
[3.0] "Although competent enough in the ring, David Flair's mic skills were poor and his physique was... skinny to say the least. The guy just wasn't flashy enough to succeed in the major leagues and although he found some success in WCW and later TNA and the indies, the only reason he was ever employed in those places is because he carried his father's name. Decent enough wrestler, and by all accounts pretty humble guy, but the guy just was not suited for wrestling on such a large stage. Atleast Charlotte has made the family proud."
[0.0] "David Flair seemed like he was a nice person, but he should never have been allowed to wrestle. Despite being the son of a legend, David had no aptitude for wrestling."
[1.0] "I feel bad for David Flair. He was given insufficient training and put in a way too prominent position as a full-time wrestler so early in his career that I'm sure he was stressed out of his mind from a very young age. Unfortunately, on top of that, he clearly wasn't athletically gifted, nor was he a natural showman. Whether he was in the ring wrestling or outside of it for some crazy WCW storyline segment, things were always uncomfortably awkward. Painful mic work, no charisma, terrible offense, selling, bumping, transitions, etc. , no sense of psychology, and not a single decent match to his name all add up to a clear cut 1 out of 10."
[2.0] "Being the child of a legend can be either a blessing or a curse, and unfortunately in David Flair's case it seemed to be the latter. He was pushed into a prominent role far before he was ready, and the fans saw immediately that he was only there because of his name. Putting him with a talented tag partner in Crowbar was actually a good idea, to theoretically allow David to learn in the ring in a situation where his weaknesses could be masked and to develop into his own persona, but once again, the team was rushed to the title scene rather than being allowed to start at the bottom and grow organically. After WCW closed, he spent about a year as a WWE developmental talent, had a cup of coffee in a fledgling TNA, toured Europe and Japan and then occasionally popped up on the Carolinas independent scene before calling it a career in '09, never having really caught on anywhere."
[0.0] "Jeepers. This guy was so bad that even in a match against his Dad, someone (or something) dumped all over it. He was greener than a field of glow sticks when WCW tried to make him look like a serious threat. And while WWE tried to improve him after buying over WCW, he didn't have that It Factor. He lacked charisma and presence. He lacked athleticism. He lacked having some sort of background or experience in other wrestling styles or organisations. He even lacked the much needed par of quality that WCW should have confirmed before even putting him on television. He is an example of a second generation wrestler who was unable to surpass his father in any way... but at the same time, his Dad is Ric Flair. If he surpassed that, he would have been one of the greatest wrestlers in the United States. He was as close to being as good as is Dad as east is to west."
[2.0] "Flair was so not ready for what he got. Feel really sorry for the guy. Inadequate in the ring and out, the son of one of the all-time greats was pushed into the limelight before he'd learned how to "Woo! ", and it showed."
[0.0] "He defined a generation, influenced so many legendary stars, and blazed a trail of excellence that will never be matched again. David Flair is the reason there is a hall of fame. What a hell of an athlete. D. Flair for president! Sarcasm? Yes."
[0.0] "Possibly the worst wrestler in the history of the business. Not only was he a terrible wrestler, but because of his family ties he won titles in WCW. He is and was an absolutely horrible wrestler, and was one of the worst parts of WCW, and showed the absolute ineptitude of their booking."
Ob er World Champion geworden wäre bleibt fraglich.
Schlechtester US Champ aller Zeiten.
