[10.0] "Take all aspects of pro-wrestling. In-ring, move-set, charisma, character work, mic work, look. Tam Nakano excelled at them all. The greatest female wrestler of her generation. Crazy to think we only got her for less than 10 years."
[10.0] "Quite possibly one of the best competitors in the Japanese joshi puroresu scene. And she's got an impactful arsenal of moves, especially that Violet Screwdriver."
[9.0] "Not quite as amazing as her simps believe her to be but still a great wrestler who often delivered brilliant matches, often delivered great promos and often drew high-paying houses. She was also incredible at putting over other peformers and had a total commit to kayfabe when too many wrestlers want to perform with a nod and a wink. In short, a promotion was better with Tam than without her."
[10.0] "A legend in every sense of the word. Tam Nakano has done so much for joshi wrestling and is one of the reasons I stayed a fan after Io left stardom. She had a relatively short career, but she left a huge mark on the sport that will last forever."
[10.0] "It might be biased by recency effect, but I just feel like the brightest star has gone out of the universe. What can I say about her career, that I can't say about her retirement. It's beyond "I will miss her" and more like 'how can we go on? ' 'Was it ever real? ' Tam is everything I love about Joshi. She is the Fairy Queen of Stardom, and that throne made her Empress of Japan and that kingdom, a Goddess of the World. Too much? There is nothing in World or America in particular like her because the western style makes everything a little yucky. It just happens. Like fungus creep. Tam has zero yuck. And she is 100% hardcore. How do you manage that balance? You don't. You're a fairy queen! It just happens. Or happened. Where will Joshi go without her compass? How does the sky lose it's North-star and ever be the same?"
[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers in the world. She had great skills in the ring and as for her storytelling i don't think there is a wrestler male or female that can reach her level.I never saw someone else like her on this. She made every storyline and match special with all the emotions she brought every time. She became the most popular wrestler of Stardom and also made her teammates on Cosmic Angels very popular too because they were around her.The way she retired was a masterpiece and if not the best on of the best retirements in the history of wrestling and it was the only way that will fit her.She was one of a kind. There will not be another Tam Nakano.Thank you for everything Tam."
[10.0] "Maybe not the best in ring, but she had spirit and determination. Got the fans on her side and was easily the most popular Joshi wrestler during her time in Stardom. That's no easy feat, when you're in a roster with Giulia, Utami, and Mayu Iwatani. Before that she was with Hana, Arisa Hoshiki and others. Someone who started out as an Idol that fell in love with wrestling, going to AWZ and learning before moving to Stardom. Being Oedotai's Mascot/Manager, having to leave them and eventually join Mayu in Stars. Winning titles with Mayu and Saki Kashima, and the Goddess League with Arisa Hoshiki. Eventually leaving Stars to from her own faction, Cosmic Angels where her popularity sky rocketed. Facing off against Giulia and DDM, fighting over titles, and factions. The failed Idol became the most popular star, the world champion and eventually one of the biggest names in Stardom history. No one would ever have thought that when she first started. Congratulations Tam Nakano, you over achieved and surpassed all of our expectations. Your final gift to us all, was that last match and finale with your student Saya Kamitani."
Meltear forever... Bye Poi!"
[10.0] "She's such a good performer and emoter... her ring skills are incredible! She's had great reigns, great matches! You don't have to look far to see she is one of the greatest perfumers!"
[10.0] "One of the greatest wrestlers to ever enter the Stardom ring. Not only is she one of the best in-ring talents in the company, but she is by far the greatest storyteller the company has ever had. It's not forced story telling like in the US, it's storytelling through matches and Stardom's short promos. From DREAMSHiNE, to her white belt chase (which is of course a part of the DREAMSHiNE story too), to her feud with Mayu, Cosmic Angels, the red belt, her return from injury and more. Not to forget her feud with Giulia: Tam is undoubtedly the reason why Giulia is so popular to begin with, and i'd argue that Tam made Giulia's career up until now."
[9.0] "One of the best curtain to curtain performers whose still very much in their prime. Not sure if she was truly considering retirement last year after suffering injury, but i'm glad she stuck around as her second stint as World of Stardom champion might end up being the best work of her career. Great entrance, great in-ring, great on the mic, and can elevate matches/championships like only a select few can. An amazing storyteller that doesn't always get the flowers she's earned"
[1.0] "Tam Nakano is one of the wrestlers of all time that's for sure... by that I mean she's extremely formulaic rarely ever deviating from her classic, getting beat down for 10 minutes, take finisher, kick out at one, fighting spirit, Violet Screwdriver/Twilight Dream, win. Combine that with her lore threads interjecting herself into other people's stories, she's one of the most aggravating wrestlers. This shit ain't nothin' to me man."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano is one of the best storytellers in wrestling today and performs some of the best character work I have ever seen. Tam often plays up the cute pop idol gimmick, yet often gets so destroyed in the ring that the contrast is startling. She'll be limping, bloody, and sporting a forehead that has doubled in size due to swelling. And yet, she'll do one of her signature cute poses like everything is perfect. Tam's feud with Giulia is the best feud I've ever seen in wrestling, as she did an excellent job of making both the storyline and matches feel real. I'll be rating the winner of Tokyo Sports' Women's Wrestling Grand Prize in three categories: look, promo, and in-ring ability. Beginning with look, Tam is clearly comfortable with her character and has unmatched charisma. She touts awesome ring gear and her signature purple hair makes her easy to distinguish in Stardom's deep roster. It's easy to see her idol roots, which is also apparent in her character work. However, looks are deceiving as she is extremely tough - to the point where I am worried about her post-wrestling career health. She has taken a fair amount of shoot headbutts, and on more than one occasion she has sported a baseball sized swelling on her forehead. Moving on to promo, Tam pours emotion into her promos and is capable of carrying on long-term feuds, as evidenced in one of Stardom's most iconic feuds that pitted the leader of the Cosmic Angels against Giulia. In terms of in-ring skill, Tam has an excellent understanding of match psychology and pacing. She doesn't perform moves for the sake of performing moves. She can mat wrestle as well as land solid strikes. She'll also bust out moves that will take you completely by surprise, like her Violet Screwdriver (Steiner Screwdriver). She has several moves that can finish matches including the Violet Shoot and Violet Dream Suplex as well. She's excellent in tag matches especially alongside fellow stablemate Natsupoi. Tam is an excellent example of Japanese wrestling psychology, especially the "struggle through competition" aspect. Even in defeat - and she loses more than she wins despite being a top draw - it's easy to root for the Top Kawaii of the Cosmos."
[10.0] "The best storyteller in all of wrestling right now. Everyone she feuds/wrestles with, she elevates, which is the ultimate compliment for any wrestler. She demonstrates so much emotion and fire, rarely seen in modern wrestling. Deserving winner of several Tokyo Sports and STARDOM MVP awards, she is a wonderful talent and mentor for younger talents. I can't speak highly enough of Tam, she is an absolute credit to joshi puroresu, and a true gem to pro wrestling. All time great status beckons for Tam Nakano."
[9.0] "Tam is a masterful storyteller in the ring. She's got fantastic charisma, is a great character, and can hang with absolutely anybody between the ropes."
[10.0] "I made an account to say that some of these comments are insane. The folks saying that her looks are the only reason people rate her are, I think, the ones that are judging her based on what she looks like. What she has done in 7 years, to come from a non-athletic background as a model, to become one of the best women's wrestlers in the world is remarkable. She has great mat wrestling skills, is as tough as nails, she has fantastic promo skills, but the thing she is best at is the hardest thing of all. That is selling and her range of emotions and facial expression during a match. Is her gimmick trading on her good looks and her career as an idol? Yes, but that is what Stardom has asked of her. To the people who complain about her doing modeling shoots: do you realize that every wrestler on the stardom roster does this as a part of their job? Their salaries are like 80% or more commission off of merchandise sales. As the top earner in the promotion Mayu Iwatani gets a reasonably large base rate of pay and even that is like 10k/month for her. That's nothing for someone who is the John Cena of women's wrestling. So of course she does as many modeling shoots as she can. That takes nothing away from her skills in the ring. She is right up there with Mayu, Rhea Ripley, Syuri, Charlotte, and a small handful of others at the very top of women's wrestling. I will be giving her a 10 exactly 7 days from the moment I hit "submit" on this comment."
[10.0] "Tam definitely became the face of Stardom. She is the most popular and one of the best wrestlers of the company, she's also the leader of Cosmic Angels, the most popular faction in all Japan. She makes the Match of The Year every year since 2019. Unfortunately she had to forfeit her Red Belt due an injury last year and after almost five months she returned in feb 2024. She was the MVP of 2023 and won others important awards. Her charisma is unmatch, she is the best on mic, she's very polish in ring and her move set is one of the best, she's funny, her ability to tell stories is unreal, she's cute, definitely the full package. Tam is a babyface but she can have some heel vibes which made her very interesting, she can look at you with cute eyes and the next second she has murderer eyes on you. She achieved all her goals in Stardom, won the White Belt two times and the Red Belt one time and became the number one of the company, so is hard to see what motivation she still has since she's almost 36yo. But the fact is Cosmic Angels is growing in numbers right now, I believe she gonna make her faction stronger than ever and then retire. So we have to enjoy the moments we still have to watch one the most talents wrestlers in Stardom history."
[2.0] "I used to like Tam Nakano a lot, back in 2017 and 2018 she was a gritty underdog who never won much but was still an endearing character who I was a huge fan off. Always wanted her to win the white belt and be an upper midcarder because to me that's where her ceiling is. I could never buy her as a top champion and especially not as a face of a company. I know a lot of people are a fan of her because she's attractive which you could say is the joshi wrestler curse but she's one of the most brainless women in wrestling today, her matches are bland and she's just not an appealing "ace"."
[9.0] "A truly wonderful wrestler. Although she failed in the idol world, she succeeds so much in the wrestling world, her presentation, while off putting to some, is absolutely amazing imo, she just looks and acts so cool and cute. She can also be brutal, because she is Stardom wrestler and a deathmatcher, so of course she is tough as hell. Her story is great."
[10.0] "My favorite wrestler in the world! Tam have one of the most impressive carrers in joshi, some very brutal matches, including deatmaches, despises her fancy idol gimmick. And there's no storyteller like her in the actual pro-wrestling. Her in-ring behaviour could not look so impressive as expected for a top-star, but, there's no way to criticize her skills, effort and performance. She's one of the most charismatic wrestler of history, and talking about history, she have the great storyline of Stardom ever, because, all her carreer it's a great storyline, and always the audience is waiting for the next chapter. And this makes of her one of great attractions of any show, be on tag, trios, single or championship matches. I'll give her a 10 now, after editing this, well, because she's now, with all merits, Double-Champion, with the two greatest prizes of Stardom."
[9.0] "Updating: That is what I had to say about Tam Nakano in early 2019: "She is a respectable wrestler. She was an Idol before getting into wrestling so we could easily think that she would only play on her cuteness and do the minimum work required. I think she needs to gain experience to be more consistent but she is really invested in what she does, isn't scared of deathmatches and improves pretty quickly, always trying to add some new moves to her arsenal. The selling is another great quality that she has, making her one of the best underdogs in Stardom. She is very good for someone with so little experience and has so much goodwill." Fast forward to 2023 and right now she is a legitimate main eventer, one of the best characters, storytellers and one of the most important wrestlers in Stardom's history with a lot of great and deserved accomplishments. She is what a lot of young joshi wrestlers could strive to be."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano is my personal favorite women's wrestler of this era. Great character, amazing in-ring performer, and a masterful storyteller. She has the best promo skills in Stardom currently and definitely feels like the correct option to dethrone Giulia for the red belt. My favorite match of hers is her vs Arisa Hoshiki in 2019."
[10.0] "An absolute elite storyteller and in ring performer. One of the best active wrestlers right now. Able to hook you into any feud she wants to with a combination of mic skills and face / body language, both in the ring and outside of it. It feels almost destined that she will dethrone Giulia eventually."
[10.0] "I had her at a 9 for the longest time but honestly she's a 10/10 at this point. Her body of work is fortified and at this point, she has no weaknesses. She is possibly the best storyteller in joshi, is consistently great in the ring nowadays and has some of the best promo range out there. Her charisma levels are off the charts and she can get you invested in any match, regardless of how big or little a deal said match may be. She's also innovative and is always down for anything. That can be detrimental at times, but she deserves credit for that aspect nonetheless. An all-around excellent performer who simply gets it in every sense."
[8.0] "For posterity's sake I'll keep my words from Sept '20, but they're too emotional. The beseeching has stopped and in-its-place is a matured, self-assured warrior. Her determination and hunger for greatness is a model for us all. I look-forward to continuing to watch her journey. {Prior to Stardom's return in late June '20, Tam was one of my favorite wrestlers to watch in Stardom as she hasn't allowed her lack of refined skills & short stature to interfere with her goals to be a main-event performer. Now, with corporate BushiRoad behind the wheel, I have to hear or see Tam and the word 'cute' all the f'n time. Perhaps the 'memo' never arrived, but when aspiring to be genuinely cute, it is not charming nor becoming to call yourself 'cute. ' Furthermore, these new ring-entrance videos with the ultra-closeups of the competitors are downright annoying, especially Tam's. Cloying is now what you are, my former paramour ;), and certainly no-longer cute. Though I still admire her fighting spirit}"
[10.0] "Tam Nakano is an outstanding overall competitor. She's incredibly charismatic. She's a solid in-ring performer. And she's done so many crazy things within the wrestling bubble, including hardcore deathmatches, and that makes me love her even more."
[10.0] "When it comes to sheer emotion and expression in the ring, there are very few wrestlers in the world who can match Tam. It's something that gets I feel appreciated enough when appraising a wrestler's in-ring work. Matches that might otherwise be forgettable become compelling when it involves a wrestler as expressive as Tam. She gives it her all to make the audience care about what she's doing, whether it's in the ring, in press conferences or even on twitter. Moreso than anyone else on the Stardom roster, Tam has an amazing grasp of character work and storytelling. It often feels like she is fighting against the rather sterile and formulaic storytelling of post-Bushiroad Stardom. Looking back at her early career, it's incredible how her character and performances have evolved. From fresh faced idol, to going along with the delinquents, to Mayu fangirl and to fully embracing herself and forming the Cosmic Angels. Her climb to the top of Stardom feels complete, with her growth as a performer being matched by the growth of her kayfabe character. If it weren't for Arisa leaving in the middle of her white belt run and the feud with Mayu being dropped for god knows what reason, Tam's story in Stardom would be complete. Easily one of the best babyface runs I've ever seen."
[10.0] "From her first appearance, Tam impressed me with her babyface energy. She manages to combine the personality of a gentle idol and a tough fighter. Very likable and one of the strongest characters in Stardom, what we can see in her great match against Giulia. We should appreciate her last years before retirement. UPD: Finally, after Nakano's perfomances on both days of Worls Climax I feel it's time to give her 10."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano is something special. While there are wrestlers I think are better in the ring I don't think there is anyone I believe more than Tam Nakano. She just has this natural talent to make you believe she can and will do whatever she sets her mind too, no matter how many times she gets knocked down."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano is a perfect wrestler who not only oozes charisma, but also a huge amount of in-ring skills that make you drop your jaw to the ground. Ever since her first match, Tam Nakano has definitely been my favorite wrestler in STARDOM and one of my favorites in the history of professional wrestling. Her whole story is simply magnificent and makes you like her even more. I really wish she can become a Red Belt Champion soon, she totally deserves it. 10/10"
"The first thing that caught my attention in Tam Nakano is his sexy and at the same time cute physique, his rivalry with Giulia and currently with Mayu Iwatani seem exciting to me and her videos posted on instagram caused me to fall in love with her."
[9.0] "Sicher eine der Besten bei Stardom. Nakano bringt alles mit für ein Aushängeschild und Champion. Unglaublich talentiert, kann starkes Matches worken und bringt auch Emotionen in einem hervor."
[10.0] "Currently one of the best joshi wrestlers. Charismatic, skilled and very dedicated to the business. Tam made a huge progress in a very short period of time. From being an idol and being completely green in wrestling, she became an icon - a role model for every young wrestler. She went throught many changes over there years. Her look changed, personality, wrestling style. She was a very important member of Oedo tai, back when this faction was still a real deal."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano has not achieved much on paper in the world of Stardom, but in reality has cemented herself as a figurehead in the top card within 4 years of wrestling. From her start in Actwres Girlz to her stints in FMW's revival, Tam entered Stardom and fit in instantly with skill that was beyond her years. Over the past few years, Tam would be involved with some of the most intriguing stories of Stardom, her feuds with Oedo Tai, her feud/arc with Arisa Hoshiki and her recent feuds with Giulia and the collapse of STARS has shown that though her acting may fall to the side of melodramatic, she has been able to deliver incredible stories through professional wrestling and will look towards finally holding a top championship at Stardom's Budokan show."
[10.0] "Tam Nakano loves storytelling, you can tell she just loves the acting and brutality of pro wrestling and that's led her to have some great matches. In January of 2020 I said "Tam would have one of the best years" and sadly I was wrong. Her year was average like Mayu's 2019 with a few good matches and the rest being subpar, I wasn't the biggest fan of her feud with Giulia cause it came off as forced with them grabbing their hair in bikinis in a dank warehouse (gross), and also their best match was the 5Star and I thought it was only really good. Now she has her own stable in "The Cosmic Angels" which is good for her but I feel like it betrays her feud with Arisa being the fact that Tam cared alot about Mayu and now she wants to get away from her and do her own thing with other 30 year old Gravure Models. It just doesn't make sense why they can't be in STARS, I'm sure it's mostly for financial reason$ but it just really sucks quality wise. But other than that complaint she's probably one of the top 20 best Joshi wrestlers right now, I know she can have another classic but there isn't a feud that I'm excited for her to have."
[7.0] "She has improved enormously over the last year. She can finally not just have good singles matches but also help mask her opponent's weaknesses (like she just did in her title match with Giulia): she may not have Mayu Iwatani's Wow Factor or Konami's grappling ability but I have to admit her matches have become very entertaining. She also seems to have an innate sense of entertainment that makes fans really care about her, albeit her promos are often on the creepy side. If she keeps this up she'll have the White Belt in under a year and the Red Belt shortly after. No doubt the "most improved" wrestler of 2020."
[10.0] "Tam is a total package, she has huge charisma and look, high ability of storytelling in the ring and outside the ring, she improved A LOT in her moveset, selling and etc, excellent in the mic and she really has a passion for wrestling. Her feud with Arisa is one of the best feuds that I? ve ever saw. Long term booking that done perfectly. She deserves a much better score here."
[9.0] "Tam Nakano has become the wrestler that I most look forward to watching. She has always been incredibly likeable and charismatic, but as of the last 16 months or so she has also become a good in ring talent, with her recent matches against Momo, Mayu and Arisa being proof of that. Tam also has a great look and is amongst the most popular wrestlers on the roster with native fans as well, so it is not surprising to see Bushiroad put her in such a prominent position with all of their initial advertising. Hopefully she gets a singles title reign soon."
[10.0] "The absolute best when it comes to the little things. Her facial expressions tell such great stories. The way she goes the extra mile with her top rope cross body reminds me of what AJ does with the Phenomenal Forearm in that she makes the effort to make it look spectacular. Same to be said with her top rope knee strike. Her kicks are crisp and even down to her pre match ritual of stretching her legs out on the ropes speaks to the audience. Her presentation is excellent & from her suplexes to her cartwheeling knees, she is underrated in the ring. It's the subtle things that take a wrestler from good to great to me & Tam is extraordinary with the subtleties & nuances of wrestling."
[8.0] "One of Stardom's many success stories in developing its roster after the departures of Io Shirai & Kairi Hojo. Tam's well known for being a meme machine, but she's developed into a pretty good wrestler over the past 6 months. She sells as well as anyone in the business, and has a great talent for squeezing as much emotion and drama out of her matches as possible. Everything she does always feels like it matters."
[8.0] "Tam's mentor into the business got a spot on the Japanese Diet then he got fired for having a threesome with an AV actress and a member of another parliament branch. You roll with a motherfucker like Onita then that's 5 points off the bat. Oh, what's that shit? you do bat based deathmatches? 1 more point. You got Io in a fuckin' explosion deathmatch? 1 more fucking point. Then her showdown with Natsuko in the 5 Star is the most savage display in the event? 1 more fuckin' point. Tam sells like a mother fuckin' God, she cuts heartfelt promos like she's fuckin' Meryl Streep, and she kicks people in the god damn mouth like Bruce Lee. MDK for life mother flipper!"
[5.0] "I know she is very popular and very loved. She has an awesome personality and she's really beautiful. However, as far as in ring goes, she needs so much work. She's really great at selling. She has some really great kicks and her strikes are okay. However, she seems very limited. Still, the talent and potential is totally there. Oh, and her entrance is awesome."
[7.0] "Tam is very charismatic. She is fun. Brings some good entertainment to the product. Cute. The fans like her. There is no wonder why Rossy is high on her and wants to push her. Though she isn't great in the ring, she has her moments when she and her opponent go balls to the walls with stiff wrestling. She is improving in-ring and rapidly. Her newly found partnership with Mayu Iwatani is fun to watch, even if it is a prelude to ripping off Taguchi Japan."
[7.0] "She is an ok wrestler with great looks I think she is a much better as a babyface than acting cute at Oedo Tai. so i think her recent ouster was a good move. If she slowly becomes better she can be their new Yoko Bito to headline some shows with the white belt."
[8.0] "IT`S TAM TIME! The newest addition to Oedo Tai is not only charismatic, adorable, and a tough wrestler with great presence, but above all else she wields a sword for her entrance and she is so proficient with it! I have only recently learned of her when she debuted in Stardom, but her 5*GP run has been great so far, a great addition to any roster."
