[2.0] "I was really let down with this PPV. This was the first NXT PPV where I felt bored and just very uninterested. There was really only 2 good match for me and it was the tag title match and Grace vs Perez. The rest of the matches were let downs, boring, and uninteresting. Shawn, you've been a great booker with NXT, but this was your weakest PPV since you've became the booker."
[9.0] "Both the underground match with Lola Vs Baszler and the main event with Trick Vs Page were decent, but the ladder match to crown the inaugural NXT Women's North American Champion and the NXT Tag Team Title match are both real great and the NXT North American triple threat and Roxanne Vs Jordynne are both really fantastic. Overall NXT Battleground (2024) is a great show."
[7.0] "While I didnt really like the atmosphere of the arena, the show itself and the matches produced were great, aside from the underground match and the main event. Roxanne vs Jordynne was the definite motn, they absolutely stole the show and had one of the best womens matches in WWE the whole year. The opening ladder match was great as well, as well as the triple threat, and the tag match was enjoyable. Overall, good show. Ladder - ***1/2, Fraxiom/GB - ***1/2, Lola/Shayna - ***1/4, Oba/Wes/Joe - ****, Rox/Jordynne - ****1/4, Trick/Ethan - ***."
[8.0] "This show was a pretty alright start in my opinion but got so much better in the second half. The women's ladder match was kinda underwhelming and I still believe that Sol Ruca should have one but it'll be fine. The tag team match was good but felt cut short like most the matches on this card. and the NXT Underground match was what I expected, just not for me. But the Triple Thret really picked things up because Oba Femi delivered another banger in his NA Championship run while still having the opportunity to have his singles match with Wes Lee. Then arguably the best match on the card with Jordynne Grace put over "The Prodigy" Roxanne Perez in a fantastic match. When main event time comes around with Ethan Page making his debut putting on a good match with Trick Williams along with the great story they told along the way which they managed to do in 2-3 weeks. so overall pretty good show that I really enjoyed."
[7.0] "A solid show with good action from start to finish with the women of NXT really stealing the show from the opening ladder match to the world title match that ended up being the match of the night in my opinion. Oba Femi continues to be one of my favorite members of this roster at the moment and it seems like putting him in a triple threat with two more experienced guys is a recipe for success at this point. The tag match was solid and the only real dud for me was the Vice/Baszler match, as MMA style pro wrestling matches in my opinion are usually either really dull or corny looking. The venue was really cool in the UFC Apex and it was fun seeing current UFC stars and hall of famers sit ringside. Solid 3 star card."
[6.0] "A good show with nothing major to complain about, just that a lot of matches felt short. I wanted to see more out of the tag match, the main event, and the NXT Women's title match. All had opportunities for contending for match of the year, however, the longest match, the NXT womens title match, was just under 14 minutes. Everything felt a tiny bit rushed, lowering the score for me."
[6.0] "A night with more highs than lows, but it didn't offer anything outstanding. The ladder match, the North American Championship match, and the Women's Championship match were good; the tag team match and the main event were O.K.; the Underground match was bad. Fun night, but easily forgettable."
[7.0] "Decent event with a few real standout moments. Perez vs Grace was certainly the most interesting match with its cross-promotional implications, and was probably the best overall match of the night as well. To nitpick, if I was putting it together, I might have had the distraction be a little more direct to protect Grace in losing even a bit more. But, then, I'm not putting matches together and maybe there's a reason for that, so... Anyway, the three-way for the men's North American Title was also very good overall; there may have been a spot or two that didn't fully come off but it was generally good action with a good structure as three-ways go, and Femi particularly came off looking like a future superstar. Trick vs the debuting Page was solid enough, but I don't really know where Page goes from here after debuting and then losing in a match for the brand's top title. Axiom & Frazier vs the Good Brothers was also pretty good and one of the better matches Anderson & Gallows have had in some time. Opening ladder match for the new women's North American Title was OK, but didn't seem to quite come together for me (Jordan seems like a decent choice to win though). Vice vs Baszler was one of those worked-shoot matches that, much like the Rousey-Baszler bout, just never seem to really work. Overall a pretty solid show."
[6.0] "pretty decent show. Imo was carried by the triple threat match. Was let down by the main event a little bit it really only got going when it was pretty much over. The crowd was great and i really liked the environment and feel of the show and hope they come back to do something for mania weekend."
[6.0] "What a mediocre and forgettable little show, a premium weekly show, nothing more than that, no bad matches, but none sensational either, the crowd, even though it was tiny, didn't interact enough beyond a few chants of "this is awesome! " and to make matters worse there is also the participation of that freak Sexxy Red. Ladder match: a very dull ladder match that doesn't hold a candle to the same match for the men's title in 2018. Sol Ruca was the MVP of that match (***1/4). Axiom/Frazer vs. OC: as much as I really like the champions this time they delivered a just ok match, even for the time given (***). Vice vs. Baszler: the sports-entertainment shooting style match, weakest match of the night (**1/2). Oba vs. Coffey vs. Lee: best match of the night, Oba is a beast and Lee is fantastic, NA Title is always the highlight in most HBK NXT specials (****). Perez vs. Grace: the match I was most interested in on the night, it didn't disappoint and even left some hooks for Grace and the TNA belt (***1/2). Trick vs. Ethan: these two deserved more than a 12-minute main event (***). Speaking of which is the fact that the show has 2:30 hours and less than 1:30 of wrestling, so instead of giving more time to the matches or putting in some interesting segments, they spend the time with promotional videos and there was even a top 10 from Michael Cole in the middle of the show (? ). In the middle of the show my interest dropped due to the fact that I was watching a PLE with "commercials" in the middle, this was without a doubt the worst part of the show"
[8.0] "This was pretty good but I just didnt really like the atmosphere but I can deal with it. Started off really well with the ladder match and then the tag title match. Good flow with the first two matches with a lot of fast pace and cool spots. The underground match was really the low point of this PLE in my opinion. Once again another banger for the North American Championship in a triple threat, Oba can go with anyone at this point. The NXT Womens title was a good match until the end of it. The main event was kind of weak as well. Overall this wasnt really what I was expecting but it still was good."
[7.0] "It was a 50/50 show for me. Three matches which were Perez/Grace, Femi/Coffey/Lee and, Axiom&Frazer/OC delivered well. And the rest, not as much. All the matches being 10 to 14 mins long feels incredibly scripted which doesn't really help you to get immersed. For the sake of structure of the show (so they can stuff bunch of promo packages and ads in) we got a 12 min main event which featured Page's debut. By no means it was his or even Trick's fault but you know... It was never going to kick into a higher gear. The abrupt ending to the match really left me with a sour taste. Some opponents carry inexperienced talent better than others, sure. This match still could have been much better even if not on the level of Dragunov/Williams. Trick's inability should have been masqueraded by a more clever match structure and finish to make it far more believable. Vice/Baszler was not bad either but it was messy, why the heck Shyna would target some random dudes outside? I don't really like the premise of the Underground either. I believe those type of matches should be inside an octagon cage. And at last, the ladder match. It was fun, energetic and chaotic but despite the entertainment value I wouldn't say it was worked quite well. It was messy too despite all the choreographed spots. I'll give Ruca her flowers, she was definitely the MVP as others claimed. I believe the claustrophobic arena hurt this type of a match as well. It must also be mentioned that I didn't quite like the finish to Perez/Grace. What was the deal with Paxley and Dana (or her new lame TNA name), just some more unnecessary stuff going around. I have no clue Sexxy Red was doing in this show."
[7.0] "Opening ladder: ****, Tag Titles: **1/2, Underground: ***, NA 3 way: ****, NXT Women's: ***1/2, NXT Title: *** Good show but maybe not quite as good as it could have been. NXT has been putting on a room of solid shows for months now and might be the most consistent product on wrestling TV, IMO."
WWE NXT Battleground 2024, 8 sehr starke Punkte."
[5.0] "I wasn't nearly as enamored with the matches as other fans. One noted something that irritated me as well during the show, the match times and video promo times for each match felt equally as long. That's not good. This is such a far cry from what Takeovers used to be in the mid 2010s. This felt like any episode of the weekly show except for Jordynne Grace. Shawn Michaels isn't terrible as head booker of NXT but he's not even close to the Triple H era. The UFC Apex is a horrible venue. Even with all the tricks and bells and whistles for the camera, it still looked and sounded like they were in a middle school gym."
"I starting the show with the ladder was the right call. It was a fun match that had some memorable spots and a surprising winner. I thought it would Sol Ruca or Lash Legend. Kelani is still a good choice. The tag titles match was fun with Axiom and Frazer just being their high flying selves. The OC was intense and Karl Anderson was fun to watch. Gallows did enough to not bog the match down, like I was fearing going into the show. I think Lola v. Shayna cemented that I'm not the biggest fan of Underground match type. There were some sick spots, but in between them seemed to be just a slow MMA fight. It was still good enough to be a positive on the show because of their psychology with each other and the spots. The triple threat was amazing and I came away with one thought, "Oba Femi is a monster". Amazing spots and second best of the night. Match of the night was the women's title match. The chain wrestling was crisp and had many fun counters. Jordynne looked like a beast and Roxanne looked like she's the smartest in the ring in NXT right now. I was a little underwhelmed by the main event. It was pretty good and entertaining, but I think it needed to be longer. I hope these two wrestle again and get more time. It was an overall above average show with two stellar matches, being the triple threat and the women's title match."
Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs. The O.C. Vielleicht ja nun schon schnell in Richtung NXT Womens North American Championship (***1/2).
[5.0] "There was just something off the whole night and the show as a result wasn't really anything special. But I suppose I may be the only person who felt that way since almost all of my ratings are lower than the consensus. Standouts include the tag match and Perez vs Grace (up until the completely terrible finish)."
[5.0] "The arena looked good with it still keeping some of the NXT PC feeling but not looking like another Standard PLE. Show itself very underwhelming after a really great Stand & Deliver. The only matches that stood out a bit were the 3 Way and Perez vs. Grace."
[5.0] "UFC Apex looks better on camera than WWE PC (not a high bar to clear), the show itself though didn't surprise me though and I got what I expected - it featured the level of wrestling on NXT (nobody fucked anything up, but nobody jumped over their head either) without the infamous backstage segments that helped create a certain reputation for NXT. Jordynne Grace was the best wrestler on the show and Axiom/Frazer had a really good showing as a tag team, don't think I'll remember anyone else for a good reason thanks to this show. Vice/Baszler was a polarising match that tried to do something different, I think it will connect with some fans, some will absolutely hate it though. Page didn't make Williams look extra good, they had a nice little TV match that was in the Main Event because there was a 'story' I guess. Femi was impressive enough in a 3-way, but his performance on a Wrestlemania Weekend show was on another level. Ladder match was just there, Sol Ruca and Michin did a few cool moves that probably looked good on Twitter GIFs."
[8.0] "This was the second successive Takeover I have watched in full (the first since 2.0 began) and this was more consistent and an overall higher quality than Philadelphia. A breeze to get through, 4/6 matches were great and the other two at least interesting."
[4.0] "That 2.5 hour runtime convinced me this was gonna be a BS free show. Then a package showing the Top 10 Michael Cole Calls played after the first match. What is it with WWE PLEs and filling their relatively brief runtime with absolute nonsense? Anyway the show itself was also very disappointing considering a) the talent on display and b) the fact this is the UFC arena, youd think theyd have pulled out something big but no its just five slightly above average TV matches with one really good brawl between Perez and Grace towards the end that really shouldve been the main event given what we got instead. Nothing egregiously bad on here, but so much mediocrity. Least essential PLE of the year so far."
[7.0] "Good show were you need to see the ladder, triple threat and women's title. Apart from underground and main event I had not a boring moment. Wrestling wise the tag match did some interesting things and of course Roxy and Grace stole the show. That match ruled, loved it! What I really enjoyed also were the spotfests at the start and in the middle. Storywise meh. Lola got her big win which is important, Tag Champs get validated (great! ), we got ourselves a new women's title with a really hot roster (awesome! ). On a minus I would have loved to see Grace and Page win the titles, first one would have been historic, second one also plus Trick is a better challenger than champion with his limited in-ring. Lackluster host Sexxy I could have done without."
[6.0] "Having a PLE in the UFC Apex is an interesting idea, and while it looked fine, the small crowd made the show noticeably worse. Wouldn't recommend them doing it again. The opening ladder match for the new Women's North American Championship was solid. A lot of inexperienced wrestlers playing it mostly safe. Sol Ruca was the standout here. Kelani winning was a surprise (6/10). The tag team title match between Axiom/Frazer and Anderson/Gallows was pretty good. A filler defense as the champions get a nice win over a main roster team (6.5/10). Lola vs Shayna in the Underground match was very strange. They're fine for regular episodes of NXT, but on a PLE it comes across as low rent. Two legit MMA fighters have to pretend to have a real fight, it always looks hokey. Didn't like this one at all (3/10). The triple threat for the NA title was good. Coffey and Wes do most of the work, Oba does his power moves. Repeat that until the end of the match as Oba retains. Some big spots carry this one (7/10). Roxanne Perez vs Jordynne Grace for the Women's Championship was really good. Considering how big of a match this was presented as, it should have been the main event. They worked very well with each other and this was on its way to being something special until the last minute when there were dumb shenanigans with Tatum Paxley and Dana Brooke that took away from the match. Roxanne retaining was the obvious decision, but Grace looked very strong in defeat (8/10). Trick vs Page in the main event that shouldn't have been was decent. Page does solid work, he gets most of the offense, Trick makes a quick comeback at the end to retain. Page looks like a good fit in NXT. Trick held the match back and as the champion he needs to step it up (5.5/10). NXT Battleground was overall a solid show. Go back to a regular venue. 6/10"
[7.0] "I liked all the matches but they couldve been longer and theres shouldve been at least one that went over 15 or 20 minutes. Also the arena is tiny and it just doesnt work. Underground match was mid but the others were brilliant."
[9.0] "Imma just be honest the show was good, but I really dont like the arena that they were in and how small it was. Because the big moments got like no pop like when Lash carried two women up a ladder, Ash by elegance coming back, the big moments in the Mens Tag Team Match. This was just like an episode of NXT arena type but they were just far to quiet and barley even cared for what happened. I liked all these matches and the final three were pretty good, I rated almost all these matches with a 8 or nine so Ill just give it a 8. Perez and Grace should have main event."
[5.0] "It's for sure the weakest WWE PLE of the year so far. The venue didn't help, the crowd didn't help but even the performers didn't give much to be excited for. Best matches were the NA triple threat and the Women's match but they were not that special either. The underground match was horrible and the main event was very weak for what you would expect from an NXT PLE main event. This show won't be remembered for long."
[8.0] "Say it quietly, but Shawn Michaels might be even better with the pencil than Triple H. If you had told anyone in 2021 during the peak of 2.0 that NXT would be back on top as the WWE brand to watch, then they would not have believed you. Mind you, WWE in general has had a turnaround from the peak days of Vince's senility, but whilst the post-Bloodline lull is starting to expose Triple H, the opposite is happening at the Performance Center; the graduation of talents like Melo, Ilja, and Bron to the main roster has allowed the new generation to fit in seamlessly. Whilst the road back to the glory days of Black & Gold is still a long one, White and Gold is in high gear and travelling at a decent clip. The women especially must be congratulated: NXT is making a good case for the crown of "best women's roster in America" to stay at Titan Towers whilst the main roster falters; and as a representative of TNA, neither Anthem nor TKO couldve picked a better talent than Jordynne Grace. However, this PLE has some glaring issues that cant be avoided, and which knock at least a point off for me: firstly, the Apex is not suited for PLE-calibre shows. I get the idea of experimenting, but venues like the Apex are too small to run these sorts of events. Maybe as a several-week residency for the TV product, but not a PLE; and secondly, WWE has yet again whiffed when it comes to the whole "strap the rocket to guys who left our competition" tactic that TNA was infamous for back in the day. It's weird, because they're making a legitimate star out of Jade Cargill, but Page felt closer to Lexis King than her, and look where he is now. I personally would've added more meat on to the NXTNA partnership instead of the whole "we have Forbidden Door at home" vibe that even Jordynne has made a couple of jokes about. Also, you know, it suffered from the "way too much downtime" pacing issues that are plaguing the main roster, but I'll be more lenient as we did get more matches than we're likely to get from Trips any time soon outside of SummerSlam. Overall, it was a really good show, but I think it still suffers from some insititutional weakness that makes it truly great."
[9.0] "Battleground was great if I had rank the match from best to worst I say it would have to go a little something like this: Oba Femi (c) vs. Joe Coffey vs. Wes Lee in a Threat Match for the NXT North American Title, Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Jordynne Grace for the NXT Women's Title Match was a very close second to being number one if it wasn't for the finish, then Michin vs. Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend vs. Sol Ruca vs. Jaida Parker vs. Kelani Jordan in a Six Way Ladder Match for the newly established NXT Women's North American Title, then the NXT Underground Match with Shayna Baszler vs. Lola Vice and finally the two matches I was only half paying attention too the NXT Title Match with Trick Williams (c) vs. Ethan Page because of how much it felt thrown together at the last minute and Axiom & Nathan Frazer (c) vs. The OC (Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows) for the Tag Team Titles I just did not care."
[5.0] ""A show that, in terms of in-ring quality, delivered exceptionally well, but I left this rating due to the horrible organization. There was too much filler, videos that added little and took up time, a small and unenthusiastic crowd, and the terrible idea of using the UFC Apex, which clearly made even the wrestlers uncomfortable.""
[8.0] "Bad crowd, but good show. All matches were above average, but only three were really great: the tag match, the triple threat and the women's title match. The ladder match was good but a little sloppy and I think Sol Ruca would have been the better choice for winner, the underground match ended too quickly in my opinion and in a bit of a confusing manner. Finally, the main event was just alright. Some cool moments but too short and the ending was really dumb. Ethan Page just hammered at Trick (with bad punches) a bit and got distracted by the ref telling him to stop and then gets hit with the Trick Knee/Trick Shot. I guess that was supposed to protect Ethan but it just kind of made him look stupid. Overall though, I enjoyed my time with NXT Battleground."
[6.0] ""Hey, we own this place, let's do a show here" - Nick Khan about the UFC Apex, probably. Woof. This place sucked eggs. It looked like a less full version of weekly NXT based on the layout and camera shots, the crowd barely reacted to anything on the show, and there was just something about the presentation of the product that didn't appeal to me. It may have been how saturated everything was, which resulted in me getting a couple of headaches. Otherwise, a pretty average NXT show to me (a black and gold fan), but probably like, a 9-10 in this current era of NXT. Nothing was egregiously bad. Nothing was great. Just kind of, a show that happened. The talent put in the work and worked there asses off. But as someone who watches major NXT PLEs exclusively and none of the weekly product, it seems like HBK can't book finishes to save his life. Almost every match I've seen from NXT shows over the past year has been serviceable to great. Then the finish happens, in any of those matches, and it falls flat. This show is extremely guilty of that. If you like NXT in it's current state, that's cool. It's just not for me."
[8.0] "Great matches with stories that matter - the matches were great so check number 1 and the matches were great with a storyline attached to them. Nothing was just a blanket match just to be a match and NXT is firing on all cylinders with that. Main Roster is struggling with stories right now and that is where NXT is thriving right now. Absolutely amazing PLE and it will go on my list of favorites for sure. Jordynne vs. Roxanne just had me glued to the screen, the ladder match ripped the roof off the joint and Ethan Page looks great in an NXT ring. LFG NXTNA"
[7.0] "Kelani Jordan vs Fallon Henley vs Jaida Parker vs Lash Legend vs Michin vs Sol Ruca: A six way ladder match to open the PLE, with solid moments that was enjoyable to watch, Jordan winning the title was good to see [***1/2]. Axiom & Nathan Frazer vs Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows: I enjoyed this match, Axiom and Frazer brought their high flying prowess, The OC are slow and a bit boring and did their parts of putting over the less experienced champions [***1/4]. Lola Vice vs Shayna Baszler: I came into this match with not so high expectations, but it exceeded my expectations, they had a decent fight that ended with the referee having to stop the match, allowing Vice to win which was surprising [***1/2]. Oba Femi vs Joe Coffey vs Wes Lee: A decent triple threat, some memorable moments like Femi throwing Lee off the top rope whilst Lee was above his head onto Coffey, Gallus getting involved should not have happened [***1/4]. Roxanne Perez vs Jordynne Grace: Grace had the power, Perez had the speed which made for an interesting watch, they brought it to the level it needed it to be, Ash By Elegance making an appearance to stop Tatum Paxley from taking the TNA Knockouts World Title belt, MOTN easily [****1/4]. Trick Williams vs Ethan Page: It was a fine match but it had a few issues, wrong placement on the card, the limited time it was given and the lack of chemistry between Williams and Page [**1/2]"
[9.0] "A great show for what it is. (Its a DEVELOPMENTAL brand). Every match aside the underground fight was a title match, and the wrestling was top tier! Stand out matches was the triple threat (Oba is a BEAST and basically main event ready. Match of the night was the womens NXT champ match. Was so fun watching them! And Jordan got her earring caught in Roxannes fishnets and ripped it out of her ear.. ouch! Shes a tough chick!"
[7.0] "A good NXT show overall. The opener was really good, the tag match was cool, the NXT Underground could have been a good idea on paper but the result was bad. The Triple Threat brought me back to the show as well as the NXT Women's Championship match which was very convincing, the Main Event a little less but it's not bad. The crowd was hot all along the show, the small capacity of the room may have had something to do with it in terms of sound. A lot of fairly long commercials between matches and it's a shame. MOTN: 6-Way Ladder Match (3*3/4)"
[3.0] "This show was the definition of style over substance, and in some cases even the style was awful. The ladder match was exciting, with most of the performers showcasing themselves well. Oba Femi threw Wes Lee around which looked really cool. The TNA in NXT debut was wasted as it had to be rushed. Then they killed Ethan Page with that music before he could even step foot in the ring. The Apex experiment was a flop, but they'll undoubtedly force it again and again. Performers like Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca and Oba Femi all looked good, but this felt far too exhibition-y start to finish. Plus way too much non-match content, Booker T, and the Network crapped out during the main event."
[9.0] "Overall, it was an interesting show with no bad matches and a few potential classics. It's notable that none of the matches exceeded 14 minutes in length, and all four defending champions retained their titles. If you haven't seen it yet, it's definitely worth checking out. However, it might not be something that sticks in your memory long-term, as it lacked anythinng significant storyline progressions. Maybe, go and rewatch the highlights of Oba Femi just destroying his opponents as that was one true highlight reel."
[10.0] "NXT Battleground 2024 definitely featured a larger presence of "developmental" wrestlers, largely due to the call-ups from the WWE draft. I have to say, the Performance Center talent really stepped up their game, including wrestlers like Trick who came up through the WWE PC system. Holding off on showcasing developmental projects until they're truly TV-ready seems to be paying off, sparing us from the awkward stumbling and fumbling we saw back in the 2.0 days when green wrestlers were thrown into the spotlight prematurely. I can't think of a single bad match; they were all entertaining. However, the venue was a bit disappointing by the end. While it seemed different at first, once my eyes adjusted, it felt like a throwback to the WWE Performance Center era of NXT Black and Gold. As for Sexyy Red, her contribution was a bit underwhelming compared to what I expected, especially considering her recent appearances on NXT TV two weeks ago. NXT's PPV of the year otherwise"
[9.0] "NXT has consistently impressed me in recent months, and Battleground was no different. Each segment of the show was well thought out, featuring logical storytelling, engaging action, and outcomes that enhanced the credibility of the talent involved, leaving room to be eager for more. NXT's recent surge in popularity is no coincidence. While we may have moved on from the Takeover Era, the Whoop That Era has proven to be quite enjoyable thus far. Here's to more exciting times ahead. 2 Outstanding matches as rest of the card followed suit"
[8.0] "[3.75/5.00]: The wrestling varied from really good to acceptable at worst, but there were few notable occurrences overall. Kelani Jordan emerged as the first Womens North American Champion, while the other titleholders retained their belts despite having solid action, the show lacked any standout moments. It feels like we're essentially back where we started when the build-up to this event began, with only minor tweaks here and there. The lone surprise came with Ash By Excellence's unexpected arrival, which ended with her being knocked down outside the ring. With Heatwave just a month away, NXT concluded its major feuds with decisive outcomes, leaving little immediate excitement in any division. While the wrestling performances were generally commendable, a few matches stood out. Roxanne Perez vs. Jordynne Grace was the kind of encounter that NXT/TNA could easily replicate multiple times. The absence of a compelling narrative is apparent, with TNA wrestlers making sporadic appearances being the most significant development at present."
[8.0] "Fun PLE, it was a good idea to put the show in the UFC Apex arena, a good idea, but not a good execution, this showed in the ladder match, the place was too small to do anything, it felt like one of the first PPV of NXT, after Stand & Deliver they should've keep going to bigger arenas, the crowd was good for the most part but the PC does more noise weekly than them, the match, while all were good, were too short, not a single match went more than 13 min. I think this was a fun show but had potential to be better and NXT vs TNA should've main event"
[7.0] "NXT has gone through a rebuilding phase in the wake of the draft taking so many of the top names of the roster. The Apex felt like a slightly bigger version of the Performance Center as a venue but the crowd that they had were not roaring but they had some energy. A well wrestled show with no match I would call bad although there was some disappointment in the show. The NA title and Womens title matches were my two favorites of the night but the womens title felt a bit underwhelming with the interference while the match felt shortchanged a bit when it could have gone longer. Still a very good match. An enjoyable show."
[7.0] "No titles changed hands, but this was still a satisfying PLE with good wrestling and some story payoffs. Two talented young women got career-defining wins and look to continue to ascend to the top of the card in NXT. The tag champs backed up their tough talk in spite of the physicality and bullying of their challengers. Oba Femi wrestled the best match of his career so far, and Wes Lee and Coffey look ready to murder each other. Roxanne Perez believably and impressively retained her title against a dominant challenger - their feud is nowhere near done. And, Trick Willy barely got by against a loudmouth but capable foe who has positioned himself to be a threat on Tuesday nights. This was good, NXT is good, all eyes on Heatwave."
[8.0] "I think despite the small build this was a really good show with some good matches to go along with it. I do think it would have benifitted with some more heat in the main title matches but with Heatwave around the corner maybe we can get some bigger storylines for the arena show! I think the match placement wasvery solid starting off hot with the multiwomen ladder match for the NXT Women's North American Championship to get the adrenaline pumping with big spots. Axiom & Frazer vs Gallows & Anderson was really good and I think they had some solid chemistry. NXT Underground was a lot of fun but I think it was a couple minutes too long personally but I really like the stipulation and the match was really brutal. The North American Championship Triple Threat was absolutely incredible, Oba Femi is a tank and I can't wait to see him steamroll through all of NXT defending that title, Wes Lee continues to provide highlights in so many ways he is such an athletic talent! Joe Coffey was also there....that's about it for him. Women's title match was solid but I think the finish was pretty rushed all in all it was a really good start to what appears to be a partnership between NXT and TNA Rox and Jordynne have good chemistry and I'd love to see them do this again with a more definitive finish with no outside interference. Trick vs Ethan Page was really short but I think they put on a solid main event in the time they used but I was really shocked that Ethan lost clean considering Heatwave is taking place like 45 minutes away from his hometown so I am interested in seeing if he can get a rematch next month but this is a solid start to his WWE career."
[4.0] "Lets never have another PLE at the Apex again. I mustve watched a different show than everyone because to me this was just an episode of NXT on a Sunday night. The crowd was just not good. Nothing super special happened. The opening ladder match, just was it was getting good ended. Tag match was fine. The underground match as a stipulation can just go away honestly. Nothing about advances anything. I think Shayna and Lola couldve had a great match on its own, other than that. Rox and Jordynne had the match of the night for me. I really wanted them to pull the trigger and have Grace win to really advance this as a crossover. Nice to see Dana, I mean Ash be elegance back. Main event was fine. Good to see Ethan in WWE. I assume hell move on to Oro now. Overall I thought it was just adequate."
[7.0] "I thought the wrestling on this show was really good overall. There wasn't a poor match to be seen here, however, on that same token, there weren't any great matches either (Oba/Lee/Coffey was the closest thing to a great match). Women's ladder match was fun, albeit brief. Kelani Jordan is a good choice to be the first NA Women's champ. Axiom/Frazer vs. Good Brothers was a fun little tag, a solid ***1/2 star match. NXT Underground with Shayna/Lola was a mixed bag. The grappling was really good but the strikes looked like shit. Also, the fact that the match spilled out of the confines of the ring kind of defeats the purpose of these kind of matches. Roxanne Perez vs. Jordynne Grace was really well wrestled and I enjoyed it until the asinine finish with Tatum Paxley stealing the Knockouts title and Ash By Elegance (the former Dana Brooke) came in to stop her. That was very LOLTNA worthy. Main event between Trick and Ethan Page was solid but nothing spectacular or must see. The biggest criticism of this show that I had was the fact that it was in the shitty ass UFC Apex. They could have easily sold 4000-5000 tickets for this show in an arena and it would have been twice as good. Instead, Endeavor/TKO wants to force this brand synergy bullshit between WWE and UFC. Newsflash, you will not turn UFC fans into WWE fans and vice versa. It's not gonna happen so quit trying to make it happen. All and all, the show was an easy watch and I don't regret watching it but please never run the Apex ever again."
[7.0] "My rating for NXT Battleground is a 7/10 an event that got me very disappointed talking about the length of the matches, but It recovers points being all good matches, an event that got me excited with the possibility of doing amazing stuff on the UFC Apex (the equivalent of the WWE Performance Center for UFC) and I'm not saying It wasn't bad, It was good but not like I would say and call this the NXT Premium Live Event of the year, It needed more time for the matches and the results of the matches were very predictable, even though the matches were good this wasn't a PLE that I can say It surprised me on results and length specially, I feel like these all matches could've been on a Weekly show and no one would've notice it, so my rating is a 7/10 a show that was good, Approve but It needed more to be memorable even though the matches were really good"
[7.0] "The 2024 Edition of NXT Battleground ended up being a good show from top to bottom from matches to moments. The opening ladder match was something I was looking forward to but it ended up being almost disappointing with how little interest it ended up having. The small venue really ruined things and managed to turn a good concept into a middling execution. Then the card picks up very nicely after that with fast paced matches and a stipulation match that ended up being good. Overall, good show! 7.5/10"
[6.0] "A decent event. The opener being the ladder match for the inaugurated Women's NA champion was pretty solid, but felt like there could have been more spots had it been for the fact that the arena they were in was small. The NXT Tag Team Champion match was good. The Men's NA Champion Triple Threat Match was the best match of the night in my opinion, The NXT Women's Title and the NXT Champion match was okay, but the Underground match was terrible. I always hated it back when it was created during the pandemic in 2020, and I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea to bring it back. Besides that, the event was okay. Not amazing, and it could have been much better. But it also wasn't bad either."
